OU RMT!

Hey, this is my 2nd RMT! I've had a long break from competetive battling, so I need some tips/suggestions/help with my team. Thanks!

The Lead:

Azelf @ Colbur berry
Levitate
Jolly
10 HP /140 Atk /216 Spe /144 Sp Def

Taunt
Stealth Rock
U-turn
Explosion

First up is Azelf, the awesome lead! It performs very well against most common leads with the exception of Jirachi, nearly always being able to prevent the opponent from setting up stealth rocks while being able to set up its own. It can also come back later on to scout and U-turn away, or explode for a quick kill.

Salamence @ life orb
Naive
Intimidate
80Atk /176 Spe/252 Sp Atk

Draco Meteor
Outrage
Dragon Dance
Flamethrower

My dragon dancing mixmence has performed relatively well in Shoddy Battles, however he doesn't bring much to the team apart from offensive capabilities, and he doesn't prove to be a good counter against many pokemon. However, Draco Meteor packs a punch and causes heaps of damage, if not OHKOing lots of pokemon. I'm not sure whether to swap flamethrower with fire blast, or whether to swap this pokemon for something else entirely. Any ideas please?

Infernape @ life orb
Timid
Blaze
6 HP/252 Spe/252 Sp. Atk

Nasty Plot
Grass Knot
Flamethrower
Hidden Power Ice

Infernape is a very useful pokemon for me. It is a good dragon counter, due to its high speed and hidden power ice, as well as countering swampert which my team doesn't fare too well against, as infernape carries the only grass move. However, he is very weak against fire types such as Arcanine and Heatran, as all of his moves are not very effective. Normally I switch in on a pokemon such as fortress and set up 1 nasty plot and sweep.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Timid
Levitate
6Hp / 252 Sp Atk/252 Spe

Hidden Power Fire
Shadow Ball
Destiny Bond
Focus Blast

I love Gengars! He is a multipurpose pokemon. His focus sash is really useful, as pokemon stay in thinking they can OHKO me, however my sash saves me and I retalliate and KO them. Destiny Bond is very useful once my sash has been used, and normally the opponent doesn't predict it. He has HP fire, which at the cost of 1 speed allows it to effectively counter Scizors which is a great asset to my team. Focus blast is also a useful move for dark pokemon which switch in thinking they can KO gengar, however it misses occasionally due to its relatively low accuracy.

Dugtrio @ Choice Band
Jolly
Arena Trap
6 Hp/252 Spe/252 Atk

Sucker Punch
Night Slash
Earthquake
Stone Edge

The Best revenge killer! Dugtrio is a very valuable pokemon on this team. He is a very effective revenge killer, outspeeding nearly all pokemon, and packs a punch due to his focus band. He has performed very well in Shoddy Battles, and he is a permanent member of my team. He is an excellent counter for pokemon such as Tyranitar and Heatran, however he has frail defenses.

Registeel @ leftovers
Careful
Clear Body
252 Hp/100 Atk/156 Def

Thunder Wave
Explosion
Earthquake
Iron Head possible change to Seismic Toss. Ideas?

Registeel is my wall and counter for pokemon such as kingdra, gyarados and feraligatr as well as fast sweepers. Thunder wave cripples fast pokemon and pokemon setting up DDs, and Registeel is also an option to switch onto from Dugtrio. Registeel also packs a punch, and explosion is a useful move to KO an opponent once Registeel has done enough. However, I'm not so sure about the EV spread - I just stole it from smogon :P - so any ideas on that?

Thank You for reading my Rate My Team! Please feedback and give me ideas, tips and help.

Thanks!

Youre not maxing speed on your azelf, yet you expect it to taunt other leads? on the not at all rare anti-leads, priority leads, and trick-scarf leads your lead will fail. Not to mention that your Gengar really depends on this lead to taunt SRers. But what if they opponent carries late game rocks? And get the draco meteor off your DDmence. EQ or Roost, otherwise you'll be stuck with a single attacking move, not to mention the poor type coverage your dual STAB gives you(have you seen the versatility of his movepool?!) Tentacruel would be a nice rapid spinner in place of Registeel. You have switch ins to both of its weaknesses (and with electric you can even hopefull get a surprise kill on their rapid spin counter!) And laying down toxic spikes could be a large help to your team in the long run. Especially for Dugtrio who sometimes doesnt pack enough for the KO. GL and happy Pokemoning!

shlomer, thank you for your comments, not many leads are faster than it, but what evs do you recommend i take out? Attack? Also, can someone else give me their views on Tentacruel? If i maximise the speed on azelf I'll be able to taunt most leads and therefore i don't think I need the rapid spinner. Also, if you're going to give criticism, give me an idea of what I should change something to?

But some stealth rockers sit back in the team for this purpose exactly. Mostly when they have an anti-lead.

but with U-Turn as apposed to Fire Blast. Azelf's defenses are so bad, that a focus sash would be the better choice over Colbur Berry. Since Azelf cant take a STAB hit from alot of more powerful moves. and sorry for not giving many tips, im not very familiar with Azelf.

Take the Spec D and HP EV's off of Azelf, it doesnt need them. His purpose should be to get off SR and then either U-Turn or Explode. MixMence is either hit or miss, but I think you NEED to carry EQ on him for Heatran. The Infernape looks good but the Gengar needs some reconstruction. If your opponent gets off SR his strategy is screwed, aside possibly getting in a Shadow Ball or HP Fire. Take off Destiny Bond and put on protect.. Why you ask? Because if they switch into a T-Tar/Scizor/Weavile, you can scout. Protect your first turn, and see if they pursuit, if they do, attack. But if they dont, you know your safe to switch out. I was never really big on Dug because he is almost a guaranteed OHKO, but I guess he could be a decent RK. Now the Registeel... Take off Iron Head and EQ, add Seismic Toss and something else (possibly rest). If you decide to carry rest, its more of a personal decision whether you would want a Chesto Berry or Leftovers. If you think your Registeel has a good enough EV spread to take a couple of turns of beating, then keep leftovers.

Hope this helped!

Hey I got your PM!

Colbur Azelf is not a bad lead whatsoever! shlomer doesn't understand that it only loses to one lead out of 15! If you liked the old Azelf set, I'd highly recommend it. It's an anti-lead, unlike the set already on the dex.

I would NOT give Gengar a Focus Sash, or even run that set. It's certainly creative, but anyone that has sandstorm (many offensive teams, or stall with Hippowdon) or rocks that aren't on their lead (many teams are!), the item is useless. Try a SubSplit set, many people have been using it to great success.

That's all I got, hope I helped.

Thanks. I'll try it out. And I did think the old azelf was better :) However, gengar is my scizor counter, and how can he counter if he doesn't have sash to protect from BP to then Hp fire?
