So, this is pretty basic OU stall with the Skarm/Bliss/Quag core, featuring two less seen pokes, Alomomola, an incredible physical wall, and Cresselia, a counter to many common stallbreakers. It's peaked at 1898, which is reasonable, but I feel the team could do better.
Alomomola (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald/Mirror Coat
- Toxic/Mirror Coat
Alomomola serves as the main physical wall of the team. Overall, it's physical defense surpasses even Skarmory's. With Wish, Protect, and Regenerator, it can be quite a pain to take down. Scald has the opportunity to burn switch-ins, and Toxic is great for spreading status and wearing down the opponent. Mirror coat is an option as well, as Alomomola can tank a Shadow Ball from Aegislash or a Volt Switch from Rotom-Wash or even a Giga Drain from Mega Venusaur, and OHKO all of them or whatever Rotom-Wash wants to bring in. I can't decide, though, which move to replace with mirror coat or to even put it on.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
Blissey is the special absorber and Heal Beller of the team. It's a pretty standard set, and takes any special attack, other than a +1 Focus Blast from Landorus. Chansey can take both physical and special hits better, but Blissey's leftovers recovery is useful in most situations.
Cresselia (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Moonlight
- Toxic
- Trick
While Trickscarf Cress might seem like an odd choice, it is an amazing counter to most stallbreakers. It stops any CM Lando, Kyu-b, Heatran, Latios etc. and can cripple opposing stall. It can be difficult to get the scarf tricked at times, but it works 80% of the time. Shout out to Lets get shaded for the set. Thanks!
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Toxic
- Counter
Standard Skarmory, serves as the Defogger of the team and secondary physical wall. Toxic might seem like an odd choice, but it hits almost every switch in and cripples it. It's also an emergency answer to setup sweepers if quag is down, as with sturdy and counter, it will stop the setup sweeper in its tracks. The flinch chance with Mega gyarados's waterfall can be infuriating, though.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 216 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Lava Plume
- Will-O-Wisp
Heatran, rocks setter another special wall, also acts as a semi-stallbreaker and a "check" to things like Mega Venusaur. The speed investment is enough to outspeed base 80's like the said Mega Venusaur. Really nothing is safe from it, as a switch in will fear a burn either through will-o-wisp or lava plume. Will-o-Wisp allows Heatran to bypass Mawile's sucker punch.
Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
- Haze
And finally, Quagsire, which is a staple on stall. It stops almost all setup sweepers, including Bisharp, the occasional SD Aegislash, any Thundurus lacking grass knot, and Mega Scizor. Quagsire also acts as an answer to Baton Pass. It hasn't let me down yet, Taunt Heatran + Haze Quag + Trickscarf Cress almost always beats BP.
Threats:
Gothitelle - The nightmare of stall, the Trickscarf + Rest set effortlessly takes out at least one wall if it is caught in against it.
Mega Mawile - Both the subpunch and SD sets are dangerous. SD set beats quag, while subpunch beats Heatran. Once the set is found out, it is beatable, though.
Mega Medicham - Cresselia usually beats it, but if it isn't able to trick it's scarf, it can have trouble beating it. Once Cress is defeated, the only options are to beat it through counter or attempt to stall it out with Alomomola (it having High Jump Kick helps in this case, as Alomomola has protect.)
Keldeo - With prior damage, Keldeo is able to beat both Alomomola and Cresselia, the would-be counters to Keldeo. Alomomola's Regenerator helps against this though, but Cresselia's scarf isn't helping it, that is until it's tricked and either the opponent is left with a much weaker Keldeo, or I have a much more reliable counter.
Aegislash - It hurts putting such a common poke in the threats list, but the only counter to the mixed set is Heatran, and at that it has to use Alomomola as a pivot to bring it in safely, or it gets hit with a Sacred Sword. With wish passing from Alomomola, though, it is a semi-reliable counter.
Well, that's it. Thanks for reading!
