OU Sweeping Team

Hello Smogonites, I proudly present a team that took much experimentation and thought. I thought of many types of teams, but I found out that sweeping was more my style. I find wall and stall teams a bit too tedious and death by blockades are not my style. So, with out further ado, we begin a great journey of a crappy OU team. Changes are in Bold.

Metagross @ Lum Berry
Nature: Adamant
EVs: Att: 252 HP: 252 Speed: 4
Ability: Clear Body
Moves:
~Meteor Mash
~Bullet Punch
~Magnet Rise
~Earthquake

A very nice lead for a Metagross. Can take down Aerodactyls who think they can Taunt/SR. Machamps are easily taken down as well. Hippodowns are also taken care of due to Magnet Rise. Meteor Mash and Bullet Punch are just basic moves that should be on most leads. Metagross is can also function as a late sweeper with Bullet Punch to take care of anything at low health. I can't tell you how many times I had my butt saved to his Bullet Punch. With only fire weaknesses to take care of, I can always swich to...

Kingdra @ Choice Scarf

Nature: Hardy/?
EVs: Att: 252 SpA 252 SpcD: 4
Ability: Swift Swim
Moves:
~Outrage
~Waterfall
~Dragon Pulse
~Ice Beam

This Kingdra is a great sweeper. I originally ran a swift swim+rain dance+dragon dance combo, but that took a while to set up and by that time, Kingdra is too weak to sweep anything. Then I decided to run a CB set but I was constantly getting walled. So I decided to come up with this set. This MixKingdra manages to have enough oomph to kill most things. Outrage, Dragon Pulse, and Waterfall are standard. However, I put Ice Beam in this set to provide some coverage.

Heatran @ Choice Specs
Nature: Modest
EVs: SpA: 252 Spcd: 126 Def: 126 HP: 4
Ability: Flash Fire
Moves
~Lava Plume
~Hidden Power (grass)
~Earth Power
~Dragon Pulse

I originally ran my Breloom here, but people were startiung to predict that. So I decided to go with a CS Heatran. This baby provides to much fire that I OHKOed an Infernape switching in on me. HP grass and Earth Power is to provide coverage. Dragon Pulse because not many people expect it on a Heatran and I decided to place it on there if I have to switch in on a Dragonite or Flygon.

Scizor @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
EVs: Att: 252 HP: 252 Speed: 4
Ability: Technician
Moves:
~Sword Dance
~Bullet Punch
~Roost
~Pursuit

This Scizor can take anything Gengar throws at it and retaliate with Pursuit. I decided to go over Pursuit>Night Slash since the only threats are Starmies and Gengars and they would normally switch out. Other than that, it's a pretty standard Scizor. The Life Orb+one SD allows me to take out anything.

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Nature: Modest
EVs: SpA: 252 Def: 126 SpeD: 126 Speed: 4
Ability: Serene Grace
Moves:
~Thunder Wave
~Air Slash
~Roost
~Aura Sphere

Oh yeah. Rage Quitter #2. Thunder Wave+Air Slash equals RAGE!!!!. Togekiss can also spread around T-Waves like no one's business. Especially if I can predict a switch. Aura Sphere is there to take out any Rock-Type and Electric types that Togekiss is weak to. But even with all these sweepers on my team, statuses such as Toxic Spikes, Burn, and Poison can cripple my team. That why I have...

Suicune_by_Xous54.png

Suicune @ Leftovers

Nature: Modest
EVs: Def: 252 SpeD: 252 Speed: 4
Ability: Pressure
Moves
~Calm Mind
~Rest
~Ice Beam
~Surf

Thats right, Suicune. Rest off any statuses. Calm Mind should be a staple on like ALL Suicunes. I use Surf right now but I did try out HP Dark and HP Dragon. However, they usually did not provide enough power to kill even with one CM boost. After much experimenting, I found out that I actually didn't need Sleep talk and Ice Beam was great coverage to hit through annoying Water Absorbers. Suicune still mantains the feel of a tank and a sweeper with defenses high enough to take an explosion.

Wow cool team. I think metagross should have stealth rocks and I would get rid of EQ as you don't have any pokemon that set them up. Kingdra is good as he is. I love heatran and the set you are using is awesome. If you want to cause any more rage quits instead of aura sphere have attract and make togekiss a female and it will cause so many rage quits it just won't be funny. For suicune I would change to a chesto rest set which allows 2-3 calm mind then take a nap and be ready to sweep. Good luck with the team.

Ehh... I'm not a hugely experienced rater but here we go.

First I'll talk about your sets.

Lead Metagross should definitely by running Stealth Rock - particularly if this team is a somewhat offensive team. Magnet Rise is essentially redundant - especially in the lead spot. I'd also consider Explosion over EQ or Meteor Mash, seeing as this team really doesn't like Blissey or Snorlax, and Explosion pretty much ensures that they go down.

Scarf Kingdra is a cool set that I rarely see utilized, but I think you'd be better off running this set:
Kingdra (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 32 Atk/224 Spd/252 SpAtk
Naive nature (+Spd,-SpDef)
- Dragon Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Surf
Dropping down to 224 Speed EV's with a +nature doesn't cost you anything notable, aside from not being able to outspeed a +1 Motor Drive Electivire.

On a Specs Heatran, why are you running Lava Plume? Fire Blast and Overheat seem far better options, and if you'd rather keep the accuracy of Lava Plume, run Flamethrower. You've also wasted an EV point, keep in mind that EV's must be divisible by 4. Besides the point, what does 124 speed EV's outspeed? I think you'd be far better running 252 SpA, 252 Speed with a Timid nature.

That Scizor definitely cannot take on Gengar. A lot of Gengars carry HP Fire for the sole purpose of beating Scizors coming in to trap them. I also think you should note that the set you are running probably isn't very optimum for a SD Scizor. Try running the standard Smogon spread if you really want to keep Scizor (though I'll come onto this later).

Togekiss is cool but this certainly isn't an appropriate set. You could try running Nasty Plot Togekiss, but I think you'd be better off replacing this Pokemon completely.

I really don't understand your Suicune. It seems your attempting to emulate CroCune, but your EV's and nature certainly don't match those of CroCune. CroCune is 252 HP, 252 Def, Bold. In any case, I think that a CM Offensive Suicune with Leftovers would fit here far better. Here's the set:
Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SpAtk/4 SpDef
Timid nature (+Spd,-Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power Electric
- Hydro Pump / Surf
- Ice Beam
Alternatively, a nice SubRoar Suicune would be lovely, it blocks status to prolong it's longevity and can Roar out anything that starts to set up. Suicune also has the added bonus of being bulky enough that it's subs aren't broken easily.

Weaknesses and Suggested Fixes:

Zapdos is a huge weakness. Either the SubRoost or a somewhat offensive version sets up and walks through your whole team. A good check to Zapdos (not carrying HP Grass) is Tyranitar, and I think that removing Scizor for Tyranitar let's you handle Zapdos much better, seeing as a Stone Edge is easily going to OHKO a Zapdos, and the residual damage of Sandstorm helps wear things down over time - allowing Kingdra to clean up late game. Tyranitar also nails Gengar which Scizor previously should have done.

This now leaves you Flygon weak, which is a big issue in the metagame where Flygon is the prime revenge killer. In this case, dropping Togekiss for a Rotom-A will really help alleviate this, as it resists U-Turn, is immune to EQ and is bulky enough to take an Outrage and stall it. Running a TrickSpecs Rotom-A will also help you nail Blissey and Snorlax which bother this team.

I hope that rate was somewhat useful and addresses some of your issues.
As a side note, your format is difficult to read, an easy way to present your sets is by making the team on a simulator and clicking Export to Text - copying and pasting relavent sections.

Use Overheat over Lava plume on CS Heatran. It can 2hko Blissey after Flash Fire boost! :o
Change the EV spread to 40 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 216 Spe

Use the standard metagross lead set. Stealth Rocks > Magnet Rise on Metagross since Hippowdon can easily Roar you out and Meteor Mash + Bullet punch 2hko's Aerodactyl anyway. Stealth Rocks help Heatran and Kingdra scoring KOs on the switch.

Use a positive speed nature for Kingdra since you don't have any EV investiment (Naive/Hasty)

What is the point of having rest but not sleeptalk on Suicune? I would suggest sub over roost on Togekiss so you can fully take advantage of paralysis.

run stealth rock and explosion on metagross.
why on earth does kingdra have swiftswim if theres no one in your team that has raindance unless your just hoping your opponent uses it.
with togekiss if your having such a hard time with paralysis and other effects can i suggest substitute instead of aura sphere.
and suicune is crying for sleep talk.
