Hi, this is my first complete team that I have created for competitive pokemon. At first, I was just trying to build my team based on pokemon that I always loved in the games, but apparently they actually suck. So I did some research and testing and this is what I came up with.
My team mostly relies on predicting my opponents moves and switching into a pokemon that isn't affected by it.
Ninjask @ Choice Band
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 102 HP/252 Atk/156 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- U-turn
- X-Scissor
- Metal Claw
An ordinary annoying lead baton pass Ninjask? Nope! I decided to use Ninjasks decent 90 base attack to throw people off in the beginning. 156 speed with a neutral speed nature outspeeds +speed Aerodactyl leads. All leads can be handled properly with the addition of U-turn.
Machamp can be dealt with by Aerial Acing it to death.
Aerodactyl is 2HKOed by Metal Claw, and most people don't expect the attack so they Taunt or Stealth Rock.
Azelf is put down with my STAB X-Scissor.
And any bulky threatening leads that won't go down with an attack I just U-Turn to something that can take it down.

Electivire @ Life Orb
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Cross Chop
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
Electivire is a good switch in when I am expecting an electric attack, as it can potentially sweep. With the Motor Drive speed boost it uses the coverage in its attacks to hit for super effective damage. At first sign of a scarfed ground attack I switch into almost any of my other pokemon that aren't affected by ground attacks.
---
Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
This Gengar is a good option to switch in on Earthquakes from DDGyaras, and fighting attacks including other Gengar's Focus Blasts. With my type coverage and speed with Choice Scarf, I can take out lots of threats.
---
Gyarados @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
Gyarados is a good switch in to ground attacks since I can Dragon Dance on the predicted switch out and either attempt a sweep or switch to Electivire for a Motor Drive boost. Even Gyara's resisted attacks do a lot of damage.
---
Bronzong @ Macho Brace
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Trick
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Explosion
Bronzong is good to play with fast pokemon with Gyro Ball, or lure the fire attack for my Heatran. Bronzong can also take out annoying threats to my team with Explosion, or just make them less of a threat with trick.
---
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 SDef
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Sleep Talk (Edit: Now Dragon Pulse)
Heatran's Flash Fire makes it a good pokemon to have when the opponent doesn't know I have it, as I can take a fire attack, then either Earth Power or Fire Blast on the possible switch. Heatran also has a random Sleep Talk to throw enemy Spore/Sleep Powder users off. Heatran also serves to potentially sweep after a Flash Fire boost.
Edit: Thanks ForTheSwarm for letting me know that Sleep Talk = no. Will use Dragon Pulse for more coverage.
