OU Team (unnamed) :)

Okay, this is my first RMT, and I am relatively new to competitive battling. I have been using this team on shoddy battle for a bit and have found some success.

The Lead:

392infernape.png

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Blaze
Naive
6 HP/252 Sp A/ 252 speed

-Fake Out
-Stealth Rock
-Vacuum Wave
-Fire Blast

Basically, infernape functions as a lead, anti-lead and sweeper. Fake out is there to break focus sashes, which I can follow up with close combat / fire blast, while the opposition (hopefully) taunts. The majority of the time I can get rocks up. Once blaze is activated, Infernape can sweep with Fire blast, due to his high speed and special attack.
051dugtrio.png

Dugtrio @ Life Orb.
Arena Trap
Jolly
40 HP/ 252 Atk/ 216 Spe
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Sucker Punch
-Aerial Ace

Dugtrio is one of my two/three revenge killers. Thanks to his ability, he can switch into pokemon, and they are unable to switch out (unless they are immune to ground attacks). He's very useful for finishing off pokemon with under half hp.

462magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Magnet Pull
Naive
4 HP/ 252 Spe/252 Sp Atk.

-Thunderbolt
-Explosion
-Flash Cannon
-Hidden Power (Fire)

Magnezone is an excellent scizor / forretress /jirachi counter, as well as a few other pokemon. With the scarf, he can also outspeed many other pokemon who stay in when I switch into Magnezone because they think that they can outspeed and kill him.

380latias.png

Latias @ Leftovers
Levitate
Timid
128 HP/128 Sp Atk/ 252 Spe

-Calm Mind
-Recover
-Dragon Pulse
-Refresh

Latias is my Special tank, as well as Special sweeper. I switch him in on a special attacker once the opponents main threats (in particular Scizor) have been fainted, and set up the calm mind. with 350 Speed, he can outspeed almost all of the OU pokemon, however, he is very weak against scizors and weaviles. Refresh is there to cure any status and Recover to heal off any damage I might accumulate while setting up.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Timid
Levitate
Evs: 252 Spe/252 Sp Atk/ 4 hp

-Energy Ball
-ThunderBolt
-Shadow Ball
-Destiny Bond

I replaced this for rotom - c, as it has much more freedome, as, due to the scarf, rotom is harder to use. Energy Ball counters hippowdon and swampert, and Thunderbolt counters Gyarados... thanks to focus sash, it's just as good as rotom, providing it hasn't been hurt.

461weavile.png

Weavile @ Life Orb
Pressure
Jolly
40 HP/ 216 Spe /252 Atk

-Low Kick
-Pursuit
-Ice Shard
-Night Slash

Weavile is another one of my revenge killers, outspeeding almost every unscarfed pokemon in OU. Ice shard is there along with ice punch to hit DD dragonites and Salamence, and pursuit is self-explanatory. I only tend to use him once the opponents Scizor (if they have one) has died, as he has a big weakness to all of scizor's moves. I replaced Choice Band for Life orb, so that he can have more freedom of move choice, instead of being stuck to one move.

There, I hope I didn't bore you too much! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to reading your comments.

:nerd:

Nice team but if a Gyarados was to get 2 or 3 DD's behind it, its basically GG. and also you have a lot of life orb users, plus your pretty weak to stall also.

Just pointing out Gyarados outspeeds even Choice Scarf Magnezone with a Dragon Dance and can Eearthquake it.

I suggest you change Latias to a scarf version.
Latias @ Choice Scarf
4 HP, 252 SPA, 252 SPE
-Draco Meteor
-Thunderbolt
-Surf
-Trick

hmm thanks for the suggestion Sheshi, but I've tried that before, and I tend to find having so many revenge killers can be a bit annoying, and if i'm locked into draco meteor and they switch into scizor, i'm dead meat (pursuit). Also, 2 scarfers can be quite annoying too. :P Thanks.

but I will try latias out now on shoddy battle.

and also, should I swap my dugtrio for a gengar (sash, destiny bond @ hp fire etc.)?

Dont swap out your dugtrio for genger because baton pass teams almost always end with a lucario and lucario carries crunch which would kill latias and gengar after a SD and close combat obviously kills weavile.

Though you could put a choice scarf or a focus sash on dugtrio to make it faster or to survive more hits.

Just a quick note: Low Kick will likely be a better choice than Brick Break for Weavile; it'll hit most switchins, like Scizor/Metagross, harder.

thanks for that chen, and sheshi, i tried it , but i prefer the one i've got, but thanks alot anyway!

Also, I'm thinking of switching dugtrio for rotom-c for a rapid spin blocker and a grass move to counter swampert.

and pokemon, gengar will have sash for DB combo.

1. On Infernape, Dump CC for Vacuum Wave. This lets him kill a couple pokemon while still acting as a suicide lead. Then put the remaining EVs from Attack into Speed and place the remaining 4 into HP.
2. Use Choice Scarf over Life Orb, because you'll only need one attack super effective to destroy the other pokemon. The recoil would be giving you a hard time.

Jolly Hitmonlee @ Life Orb
4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Sucker Punch
-Stone Edge

Jolly Dugtrio @ Life Orb.
40 HP/ 252 Atk/ 216 Spe
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Sucker Punch
-Aerial Ace

Lol? Let's see the similarities.

1. Both Jolly.
2. Both LO.
3. Both Physical.
4. Both have Sucker Punch.
5. Both have Stone Edge.
6. Both have EQ.
7. Both have higher SpD than Def.
8. Extremely low HP.
9. Very similar EV Spreads.

Differences:
1. Abilities
2. Hitmonlee has CC and Dugtrio has Aerial Ace.
3. Dugtrio has different STABs than Hitmonlee.

You REALLY need to switch out one of these pokes. Go for Rotom-C, but I would dump Hitmonlee.

okay.. thanks. I rather liked hitmonlee, on average koed 1/2 of the opponents pokes, but, due to his frail defenses he cannot switch onto pokemon's attacks. I will replace close combat on Infernape with V Wave, and what poke should i put a scarf on? Thanks alot for the help!

and should i use the scarf timid rotom-c set?

OR: I was thinking :
Gengar @ Focus Sash
Timid
Levitate
252 Spe/ 252 Sp atk / 6 HP

-Destiny Bond
-Thunder Bolt
-Energy Ball
-Shadow Ball

What about that? Any ideas?

Hi.

I use Weavile on my main team, and I think I can offer a better set for you.
Weavile @ Choice Band
Jolly
252 Attack/252 Speed/4 HP
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard

This makes Weavile a much more effective, powerful revenge killer. With a Jolly nature and 252 speed EV's, you be outspeeding other Weaviles. In addition, you outspeed any non scarf/speed boosted Pokemon. Brick Break hits Blissey, Snorlax, Abomasnow, and other Weaviles hard. Night Slash is to revenge kill with powerful STAB, while Pursuit is for killing running ghosts. Ice Shard is for hitting Dragons. If you feel that Salamence and Dragonite are giving you problems, you can swap Night Slash for Ice Punch. This will effectively OHKO Salamence, Dragonite, and Flygon, especially once they're locked into an Outrage.

hmm not sure about the Gengar set. Maybe its just me but I hate putting a focus sash on pretty much anything other that a lead. To me it seems like a waste of an item. If you like the suicide genger then explosion can be better than Destiny Bond. Personally with this team I would sugest the MYSTICgar set:
Gengar
Life Orb
Timid
Protect
Shadow Ball
HP Fire
Focus Blast
EVS 4 Def 252 spA 252 Spe
This set can lure out scizor and u can protect to see if it pursuits or bullet punches. Bullet Punch=switch to magnetzone and Pursuit= HP Fire. This gengar set allows you to also lure in Tyranitar as well.
This gengar can remove scizor the game which will help your latias sweep later into the game.

You should use this set over the Gengar you have and the one mentioned above:

Gengar @ Leftovers
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Substitute
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast
~ Hidden Power Fire

Much better. Allows you to still OHKO the likes, T-Tar, Scizor, other Gengars and do major damage against other steel types. But this set with substitute allows you if you predict correctly to have "an extra life". This allows you to counter the Choice Scarf variety of Gengars who outspeed you and other Pokémon who aren't OHKO's or who outspeed you. Protect on the other set is almost useless because all it does is help against Scizor, but most Scizors use Pursuit against Gengar anyway. That set does nothing against Pokémon who are faster than you, not to mention the fact that you will die faster with LO.

Also, why did you put a focus sash on the Gengar you have? It's completely useless with Stealth Rock, Hail, or Sandstorm.

Could you 2 guys please read my entire thread before posting? If you'd read the threat list and everything else, youd have seen that I need a swampert and hippowdon counter, a rapid spin counter, AND I already have magnezone... so please take the time to read it. >.<
