Hello you guys! Last time I was making an rmt my internet quit on me and I lost everything, so I was quite pissed and all... I finally decided to make a new rmt. I'm making a new team for my first youtube battle (I'm going to start uploading in a week), looking forward to that.. So I wanna make a blast of my first youtube battle, so please help me!!! (if I need any cause I'm so pro XD)
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Ev's: 248 HP / 136 Def / 88 Sp Atk / 36 Sp Def
Modest nature (+ sp atk, - atk)
~ Thunderbolt
~ Heat Wave
~ Roost
~ Thunder Wave
This is the first of 2 that help togekiss set up a sweep, and I know some of you guys are gonna be like: 'Use agility baton pass set to give togekiss the speed she needs!' Than I'll be like, wtf dude with paralyses I don't just help out togekiss to flinch everyone to death, but also cripple them to attack me other teammates. + It's is a good way to cripple those pesty scarf users, wich I otherwise would have immense trouble with. I modified the agility ev spread though, it now makes zapdos a bit bulkyier and yet give it more attacking power. Zapdos's job is to spam twaves at my opponent and counter scizor/luke, he does a great job at doing wat he is supposed to do, don't really see anything to explain here. But I do now that going with heat wave in stead of HP(grass) I have some big trouble with swampert if metagross already died, I can cripple it with will-o-wisp from rotom but it can do some severe damage to my team. But Zapdos is here to counter those annoying steel-types so heat wave is option number 1 by far! I used black colour cause yellow is annoying to read and the back of his wings are black!
Rotom-C @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Ev's: 252 HP / 72 Def / 96 Sp Atk / 88 Spe
Bold nature (+ def, - atk)
~ Shadow Ball/Thunderbolt
~ Leaf Storm
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Thunder Wave
On this moveset I need a little help, as you can see above I can't chose between shadow ball and thunderbolt... I really have no clue!!! So please help me on that one. I first had a scarf set on this Rotom, but I found out that when trying to flinch my opponent to death it would be more usefull to use another paralyses spammer. It also has wow because he is my second and first check on a lot of physical treats. Zapdos is my first go if scizor or luke comes in but this guy handles tyranitar and the occasional kingdra, salamence and other stuff. I also first had the scarf oven form here. But when I had some problems with bulky water pokes I went with the mow form since it has the privilage to leaf storm. So now can you see why I can't chose between shadow ball and thunderbolt? He is my check against bulky waters wich are dealt with by thunderbolt and if I need to leaf storm, but shadow ball just gives me better coverage in combination with leaf storm!! Still can't figure it out.. As long as it does his job at paralysing everyone ^^ Togekiss can deal with anything! Even blissey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Latias @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Ev's: 252 Sp Atk / 252 Spe
Modest nature (+ sp atk, - atk)
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Thunderbolt
~ Healing Wish
~ Surf
You haven't ever seen a scarf latias with healing wish did you? Since I don't have my o so valuable vaporeon on this team I was so afraid that it would fall apart, since it always has been the glue in my competitive teams... But I found out that a scarf healing wisher is very handy, since I don't really care about crippling walls with trick I had a slot open. At first I went with ice beam, but when I had my first battle on shoddy... It was so unneccesary, so I looked at other moves it could learn.. And sometimes I did mis my wish support from vaporeon so I tried wish for a while, it didn't work at all since locked into wish is helpless. So healing wish was a good option. And it worked fine, probably overlooked a move but it works well in this team. That is just one of the two roles Latias has in this team. It also is my revenge killer, sure metagross can, I repeat CAN come in and kill something of with bullet punch. But when someone like gyarados is set up to sweep I have a major problem cause a BP won't do enough, not by a long shot. So this girl is a miracle worker, if you predict right you can easily get 2 or 3 kills in a row. And when it is at low health and can't help me anyfurther and someone needs healt badly I now were to go. So a scarf support poke, while also being a great revenge killer, does the world get any better?! Furthermore you guys all now what Latias can revenge kill, and that is one of the bests at the job. It can take a bullet punch from scizor revenge it with surf or thunderbolt cause it never will be at full health when latias comes in to take it down. And you now, she's awesome! ^^
Togekiss @ Leftovers / Lum Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
Ev's: 252 HP / 152 Sp Atk / 104 Spe
Modest nature (+ sp atk, - atk)
~ Air Slash
~ Nasty Plot
~ Roost
~ Aura Sphere
As you can say, the core of my team. I won't consider it a core myself since there are 3 potentially 4 pokemon on this team that can sweep. Togekiss comes in at different times, depending on who is on the field, how many of his/her pokemon are paralysed. If the possible scizor is take care of. That sort of stuff. The beauty of this set is that togekiss, even without investing heavily in defense and special defense it still has a lot of bulk. Given with the HP ev's she can live a sh*t load of moves, and with roost as recovery move it can get rid of the ice weakness for a turn an easily get op a nasty plot. After a nasty plot, or even before the sweep can start. Since I (at least hope) have most of my opponent's pokemon paralysed I can sweep by doing medium damage but flinching myself to victory, or I can chose to finish him of quickly by getting up some nasty plots. The reason why togekiss doesn't have thunder wave is that I can have a choise in how to sweep, what I need at the moment. Cause sometimes it can be very handy to have thunder wave on togekiss, but nasty plot wins because it benefits the team more. She has great synergy with the team, might not look like it but it definitally is so.
This was my rmt, hope you enjoyed. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Just don't try to make me cry! xD It can't be that bad!
How did I select the team?
I always was a fan of Togekiss, wanted to use one for a while now.. And since it wasn't used so much anymore I thought it was time to do so! And with her great capability's she is definitally a force to be reckoned with.
I immediatally knew I wanted someone to give paralyses support, along with the ability to stop some of the biggest offensive threads out there. I came out with Zapdos!
After I had these two written op paper, I saw that's already 2 times weakness to SR... From my experience I knew that it wasn't a nice thing to have to many SR weaknesses. So I wend on smogon and looked for a nice rapid spinner. At first I had Tentacruel in this slot but it didn't work for me, so I went with the UU Hitmontop wich is a great spinner.
Half way trough!!!
Right about now I wanted to get my on SR user, as well as a resistance against ice/rock attacks since I have 2 poke's who are weak to them. I knew that hitmontop resist rock attacks but it isn't bulky enough to take a DD ttar stone edge, or something like that. Because of all the criteria I came up with Metagross, it has the ability to easily set up rocks and can have meaning late or mid-game.
At this time I wanted a physical sweeper, someone who CAN rip trough teams as pirates trough a chamber of rum! Looking at what I had salamence/gyarados was out of the question... Than I came up with metagross, but I already used one for another purpose. And after switching metagross to a jirachi lead and using metagross as a sweeper I found metagross better as a lead than sweeper. So I went with a infernrape (get the joke?xD rape hahaha). But I found that hitmontop wasn't that usefull so gave his spot to the infernrape.
So, still at four.. This spot wasn't hard to give away, I always usedd one and will probably never stop doing that!!! Latias!!!!!!! And it fit in this team perfectly, providing resistanse/immunity against meta's 2 weaknesses, the immunity to ground anyways (now I have 3 lolololol). But it also is my third weakness to ice (you'll see how I deal with that later). So the team with one spot left!
Looking good to the team I saw a luke treat, scizor was a little problem if zapdos is down. And poke's with DD that weren't paralysed were a major issue. Knowing this and wanting to use a rotom-A form I went with him, you'll learn how I use him and the rest later ^^
Alright, so now you know the members of my team let's give you guys the tools you need to rip it apart!
THE IN-DEPTH LOOK
Metagross @ Occa Berry
Ability: Clear Body
Ev's: 252 HP / 236 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant nature (+ atk, - sp atk)
~ Stealth Rock
~ Explosion
~ Meteor Mash
~ Bullet Punch
First off, this is my most reliable lead I have ever used (and playing competitive for a year or so I used a lot of different leads). I don't use him like everyone else does, put up SR than just go Osama Bin Laden on your opponent(explode get it?), I get up SR than just hightail it back unless I know for a fact that I can handle my opponent like aeroy, weavile, gengar you know! I usually intend to go boem somewere mid-game, cause that's when he comes back in usually. He also is one of my 2 revenge killers. First I used hitmontop as a revengekiller/spinner, but he didn't function well. So that's the reason why this metagross doesn't carry earthquake, he is supposed to do some mediocre or heavy damage mid-game. He can do that better with a STAB meteor mash than earthquake. His synergy with all of my ground immunity's is great, they all are very bulky and one of them resists the fire type move(latias), so he can come in on a treat for my flying/levitate guys and hopefully slay him/them/her. This complete's meta's description I guess, any changes will be put in red!! This goes for my entire RMT! And I just forgot that I had to mention here that metagross becomes my trick absorber after I set up SR, cause with a scarf or a band he can function even better mid-game ^^
Infernrape @ Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
Ev's: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly nature (+ spe, - sp atk)
~ Flare Blitz
~ Close Combat
~ Stone Edge
~ U-Turn
Infernape is here as a physical sweeper, in fact he works exactly like choice band scizor. First time you sent him out just u-turn out to see what your opponent brings in to counter infernrape (still find it funny xD), after that I now who I need to get out of the way to pull off a little ape sweeping ^^ But he isn't the core of this team to sweep. Eventually he is here to make sure that togekiss can kill off anything left in the end. Altough after a good set-up togekiss can start sweeping mid-game. If my opponent doens't now to much about competitive battling and doesn't carry someone who can counter infernrape it is just over when I bring him in. But that isn't going to happen often. All in all infernrape is a very good scout and does his job exeptionally well. Can't think of anyone who would do it better, but there is the job of you guys. So far so good?
