[OVERVIEW]

Parasect is a bad Pokemon in PU that is outclassed by other Grass-types such as Tangela and Gourgeist-XL, with Tangela having more bulk thanks to Eviolite and Gourgeist-XL having a better defensive typing and can burn its opponents with Will-O-Wisp. However, Parasect's typing is very poor defensively, giving it common weaknesses to Fire-types, such as Ninetales, Flying-types, such as Jumpluff, and Poison-types, such as Roselia. In addition to this, Parasect has subpar defensive stats, a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock, and a low Speed stat. Parasect is also unable to make use of its resistances because most Pokemon run super effective coverage moves, such as Raichu with Hidden Power Ice, Machoke with Ice Punch, and Simipour with Ice Beam, preventing Parasect from countering them.

[SET]
name: Spore

move 4: Knock Off
item: Leftovers
ability: Dry Skin
nature: Impish
evs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Spore allows Parasect to cripple an opposing foe with perfect accuracy. Synthesis is a reliable recovery move that allows Parasect to stay healthy during the match. Seed Bomb prevents Parasect from being Taunt bait and hits Water-types, such as Simipour and Carracosta, and Ground-types, such as Stunfisk. Knock Off allows Parasect to remove items from Pokemon, such as Eviolite from Tangela and Machoke.

Set Details
========

This EV spread maximizes Parasect's physical bulk and minimizes the damage it takes from Stealth Rock. Dry Skin allows Parasect to absorb a Water-type attack when switching in and restore HP. Leftovers provides passive recovery and allows Parasect to stay healthy during the match. A specially defensive spread is an option in order for Parasect to make use of its typing and check special attackers such as Raichu and Simipour more easily.

Usage Tips
========

Parasect should switch in on predicted Electric-, Ground-, and Fighting-type attacks from Pokemon such as Raichu, Stunfisk, and Machoke, but it must be wary of their coverage moves. If Stealth Rock is up, Parasect should be wary of switching in, as the damage can bring it down to 2HKO or OHKO range. Parasect also cannot reliably switch in on special attacks, except for a predicted Water-type attack from Pokemon such as Simipour. Parasect should try to go for Spore most of the time, but it must be wary of Pokemon that can absorb Spore, such as Roselia and Zebstrika; if you predict such a Pokemon to switch in or Parasect has just used Spore, Parasect should use Knock Off.

Team Options
========

Parasect only fits on defensive teams due to its passivity. Defoggers and spinners such as Pelipper, Vibrava, and Armaldo are able to remove entry hazards that normally trouble Parasect, such as Stealth Rock. Rock-types such as Carracosta and Golem appreciate Parasect's ability to take Water-type attacks while in return they can take Fire- and Flying-type attacks. Grumpig is a good partner, as it is able to take Fire- and Ice-type attacks aimed at Parasect and act as a special wall, while Parasect is able to take physical attacks. Water-types such as Simipour and Floatzel are able to handle Fire-types, for Parasect. Fire-types such as Rapidash can help Parasect to take on Ice- and Steel-types. Zebstrika and Piloswine are able to take on Jumpluff, which walls and sets up on Parasect.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

X-Scissor helps Parasect to hit Grass-types, such as Sawsbuck and Tangela, but it lacks the moveslot for it and Knock Off generally cripples them anyway. Leech Seed lets Parasect drain the foe's health, but the recovery provided by Synthesis is more reliable. Parasect could make use of Agility and Swords Dance in order for it to sweep, but it is hard to use because of its very low base Speed stat. Brick Break is an option to get past Steel-types such as Probopass, but it has little use outside of that. Aromatherapy allows Parasect to function as a cleric, but other support moves are prefered. Pursuit can be useful to trap an opponent, but Parasect doesn't force too many Pokemon out and it is quite weak.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Ninetales and Simisear can take advantage of Parasect's 4x weakness to Fire and KO it with their STAB moves. Ninetales is also able to use Parasect as setup fodder and can dodge Spore thanks to Substitute. However, none of them are able to switch into Spore.

**Spore Immunities**: Grass-types such as Roselia and Jumpluff and Sap Sipper Pokemon such as Zebstrika can switch in on a predicted Spore and easily handle Parasect, with Roselia having Sludge Bomb, Jumpluff having Acrobatics, and Zebstrika having Overheat. However, Roselia must watch out for Knock Off.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Dodrio and Swanna can easily outspeed Parasect and KO it with their STAB moves, but they are unable to switch in on Spore.

**Strong Attackers**: Strong special attackers, such as Rotom-F and Regice, are often able to KO Parasect with their STAB moves. Strong physical attackers such as Stoutland can also deal tons of damage due to Parasect's mediocre bulk. However, most of them are unable to switch in on a Spore.

**Residual Damage**: Although Parasect has access to reliable recovery in Synthesis, it has a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock. Burns and poison also put a timer on Parasect and cripple it for the rest of the game.

**Super Effective Coverage**: Pokemon whose STAB moves Parasect resists, such as Simipour and Zebstrika, can often hit it with their coverage moves, with Simipour having Ice Beam and Raichu having Overheat.

I know this is WIP (well its basically done) but already the overview is way too positive. I wouldnt say that it has a niche over other grass types, as firstly tangela/roselia have access to sleep powder, and secondly every water type carries either ice beam or air slash. You should also specifically state that other grass types (more particularly tangela/gourgeist) outclass this and why they do (less weak to knock off isnt too important as the main users can 2HKO/OHKO parasect). Regarding your fourth line, it actually loses to every electric/grass type (other than maybe knock off+sleep powder tang), and also the machoke is the only fighting type it can switch into (and if you predict incorrectly you die to 2 ice punches + rocks)

e: 'double-edged sword' is also a phrase you shouldnt use in analyses fyi

Thanks. Also I didn't know that double-edged sword is a phrase that shouldn't be used in analyses, as I saw a few people use it. This should be ready now.

Overview:
'Parasect is a very bad Pokemon, having a small very niche in Dry Skin' - this isnt exactly a relevant niche as we have plenty of grass types that can take water moves

The last two lines of UT are p much irrelevant as the reader doesnt need to be told to recover HP when their HP is low and you have already stated knock targets in moves

This is looking good 1/3 rubsomebacononit

Not QC but some things I would personally add:

Overview:
- Considering Spore is currently made out to be one of Parasect's selling points, I would definitely point out that there are far more capable sleep inducers in the tier.

Usage Tips/Overview/Team Options?
- Not sure if this should go in usage tips or overview or team options (maybe even all three), but quite a few of PU's sleep absorbers are also things that lose a significant degree of effectiveness when they lose their item. I would mention something about Parasect's small niche in luring these Pokemon in and getting rid of their item, making it easier for other Pokemon (in particular Carracosta/Barbaracle) to sweep.

Team Options:
- I would mention something about setting hazards. Lots of them. As a sleep inducer, Parasect forces a lot of switches. Even though all of PU's Spikes users are either Grass- or Bug-type, it's definitely worth it for the switches. I used this on a team with Roselia and it put in work just by forcing hazard damage. It also helps out Roselia because putting Spore on Parasect helps out with Roselia's 4MSS.
- Taunt Missy goes a long way in stopping hazards from going up especially because Parasect doesn't have the best synergy with PU's spinners.

Also maybe this is just me, but when I tried Parasect out, and I didn't use Seed Bomb a single time. I used Spore and Knock Off a lot more, with Synthesis here and there when permitted. I would encourage you experiment with that final moveslot and see if anything else can be put in its place.

Hello dundies. I did most of it except the synthesis part as i did put it before but anty told me to remove it. If another qc member thinks that i should put it in, I will.

I wouldn't say that Spore cripples just walls lol, just say it reliably cripples foes in general.

Mention the nature and a spdef spread to Spore vs stuff like Raichu.

Usage Tips
========
Mention that after you've used Spore Knock Off is the best move to spam.

Team Options
========

Parasect is a complete waste of a teamslot on stall but I guess it can be used on balance for the setup opportunities Spore provides :s.
Roselia and Quilladin have terrible synergy with Parasect.
Mention more Jumpluff checks than Zebstrika.

Checks and Counters
===================
Also say that Fire-types can use it as setup fodder and subtales also dodges Spore.
Also mention Jumpluff in Pokemon immune to Spore.
I'd rename Strong Special Attackers to Strong Pokemon or something like that because Parasect's bulk is pretty mediocre and stuff like Banded Stoutland also just destroy it.
''Pokemon that Parasect normally walls, such as Simipour and Raichu, can hit it with their coverage moves'', this sounds weird because it just doesn't wall them, rephrase a bit. Also mention that a spdef spread kinda tankes hp ice from Raichu.

This mon is so bad, 2/3.

I'd remove the obviouly part from Strong Attackers and just say they can't switch in on a predicted Spore. Otherwise everything looks fine.

Not too confident about this first official check of mine :x but anyhow,

GP 1/2

Be careful when using "such as". The examples aren't the subject, the overall category is (i.e. "Fire-types" is the subject, not "Ninetales and Simisear"). I'd personally vary those sentences up a bit to make them feel less awkwardly written.

[OVERVIEW]

Parasect is a very bad Pokemon in PU that is outclassed by other Grass-types such as Tangela and Gourguest-XL, with the former Tangela having more bulk thanks to Eviolite and the latter Gourguest-XL being able to act as a spinblocker and burn its opponents with Will-O-Wisp. Parasect is also outclassed by other sleep inducers such as Jumpluff and Roselia, the former with Jumpluff being faster and the latter Roselia having more bulk with thanks to Eviolite, but it has access to a the 100% percent accurate Spore and Knock Off to weaken its threats. However, Parasect's typing is very bad poor defensively, giving it nasty weaknesses to Fire-types, (AC) such as Ninetales, Flying-types, (AC) such as Jumpluff, and Poison-types, (AC) such as Roselia. In addition to this, Parasect has mediocre defensive stats, a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock cripples it, and a low Speed stat, (RC) meaning that it will need which requires it to take a hit or two before recovering with Synthesis. Parasect is also unable to make use of its resistances because most Pokemon run coverage moves, such as Raichu with Hidden Power Ice, Machoke with Ice Punch, and Simipour with Ice Beam, making it not a 100% safe switchin to them preventing Parasect from countering them.

Moves
========

Spore has 100% percent accuracy and allows Parasect to cripple an opposing foe. Synthesis is a reliable recovery move that allows Parasect. (remove period) to stay healthy during the match. Seed Bomb hits Water-types, such as Simipour and Carracosta, and Ground-types, (AC) such as Stunfisk. Knock Off allows Parasect to remove items such as Eviolite from Pokemon, (AC) such as Eviolite from Tangela and Machoke.

Set Details
========

This EV spread maximizes Parasect's physical bulk, (RC) allowing it to take as many physical hits as possible, (RC) but and also allow it to take minimum minimizes the damage it takes from Stealth Rock. Dry Skin allows Parasect to take absorb a Water-type attack when switching in and also regains its health restore HP. Leftovers adds to provides passive recovery and allows Parasect to stay healthy during the match. A specially defensive spread is an option in order for Parasect to make use of its typing and better switch into special attackers, (AC) such as Raichu and Simipour, (AC) more easily.

Usage Tips
========

Parasect should switch in on predicted Electric- (add hyphen), Ground- (add hyphen), and Fighting-type attacks from Pokemon such as Raichu, Stunfisk, and Machoke, but it must be wary of their coverage moves, such as Machoke's with Ice Punch. If Stealth Rock is up, Parasect should be wary of switching in, as it can be brought down to 2HKO or OHKO range. Parasect should not be relied on to switch in on special attacks, unless it switches on a except for predicted Water-type attacks from Pokemon such as Simipour. Parasect should try to go for a Spore most of the time, but it must be wary of Pokemon that can absorb Spore, such as Roselia and Zebstrika. Spam Parasect should use (consistency) Knock Off after using Spore or on a Pokemon predicting to that can freely switch in on a Spore, (AC) such as Roselia and Zebstrika (tried to make this feel a bit less awkward).

Team Options
========

Parasect fits only fits on balanced teams because of its ability to tank hits, cripple foes with Spore, (AC) and deal damage with Knock Off. Defoggers and Rapid Spinners spinners such as Pelipper, Vibrava, (AC) and Armaldo are able to remove entry hazards such as Stealth Rock, (RC) which normally trouble Parasect, (AC) such as Stealth Rock. Misdreavus is able to Taunt entry hazard users, (AC) such as Carracosta, (AC) and cripple them with Will-O-Wisp. Stealth Rock from Pokemon such as Golem can help deal chip damage, (AC) as most Pokemon would likely switch out after a being hit by Spore. Rock-types such as Carracosta and Golem appreciate Parasect's ability to take Water-type attacks and support, while in return they can take Fire- and Flying-type attacks. Grumpig is a good partner, (AC) as it is able to take Fire- and Ice-type attacks aimed at Parasect and act as a special wall, while Parasect is able to take physical attacks. Water-types Pokemon such as Simipour and Floatzel are able to handle Fire-types, (AC) such as Rapidash, (AC) for Parasect. (add period) Fire-types (you could put "of your own" here if ya want) Pokemon such as Rapidash can help Parasect by are able to take taking on Ice-types for Parasect (maybe put an example of an Ice type here?), beat Grass-types, (AC) such as Leafeon, and deal with Steel-types, (AC) such as Probopass. Zebstrika and Piloswine are able to take on Jumpluff for Parasect, which it Parasect has trouble dealing with.

Other Options
=============

(You use "allow" here for every single move you list. Try a different word or phrase to vary it up)

X-Scissor allows Parasect to hit Grass-types, (AC) such as Sawsbuck and Tangela, but it Parasect lacks the moveslot for it and Knock Off generally cripples them anyway. Leech Seed allows Parasect to drain the foe's health, but the recovery provided by Synthesis is more reliable. Agility and Swords Dance allow Parasect to sweep more easily, but it is hard to pull off for Parasect to sweep because of its low base Speed stat. Brick Break allows Parasect to get past Steel-types, (AC) such as Probopass, but it has little use outside of that. Aromatherapy allows Parasect to function as a cleric, but Lickilicky is generally better as a cleric thanks to its superior bulk. Pursuit allows Parasect to trap an opponent, but it has very little use outside of that and is quite weak.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types, (RC) such as Ninetales and Simisear can take advantage of Parasect's low special bulk (I'd think that they'd take more advantage of its 4x weakness to Fire...) and can KO it with their Fire-type STAB moves. The former Ninetales additionally is also able to use it Parasect as setup fodder (For Nasty Plot? I don't think it would hurt to mention that), (RC) and can dodge Spore thanks to Substitute. However, both none of them are unable to switch into a Spore (Besides Magmar, though it seems to be irrelevant in PU so I'm not entirely sure if ya need to mention it).

**Pokemon immune to Spore**: Grass-types, (RC) such as Roselia and Jumpluff, (RC) and Sap Sipper Pokemon, (RC) such as Zebstrika, (RC) are able to can switch in on a predicted Spore, (RC) and can easily handle Parasect, the former with Roselia having Sludge Bomb, (AC) Jumpluff having Acrobatics, (AC) and the latter Zebstrika having Overheat. However, the former Roselia must watch out for Knock Off. Jumpluff is also immune to Spore and can deal heavy damage with Acrobatics.
**Flying-types**: Flying-types, (RC) such as Dodrio and Swanna can easily outspeed Parasect and can KO with their Flying-type STAB moves, but they are unable to switch in on a Spore.

**Strong Attackers**: Strong special attackers, (RC) such as Rotom-F and Regice, (RC) are often able to KO Parasect with their STAB moves. Burns and poison also put a timer on Parasect and cripple it for the rest of the game. In addition to this, it will often need to take a hit first before healing thanks to its low Speed stat.

**Super Effective Coverage**: Pokemon that have STAB moves that Parasect resists, (RC) such as Simipour and Raichu, (RC) can often hit it with their coverage moves, the former with Simipour having Ice Beam while the latter and Raichu having Hidden Power Ice. However, a Specially Defensive specially defensive Parasect is able to slightly tank their super effective Special special attacks.
