Thanks to automatic rain provided by its unique ability, Drizzle, Pelipper is a nearly mandatory support Pokemon for rain teams, a playstyle in which it is relatively effective with its good matchup against sand-based teams. Damp Rock extends Drizzle's rain from 5 turns to 8 turns, which helps rain teams to function even better. In addition to this, Pelipper can set up rain with Drizzle multiple times throughout the battle thanks to Roost. Scald's ability to potentially burn opposing Pokemon helps Pelipper to punish Pokemon that are resistant to Water like Ferrothorn. Similarly, Knock Off removes Eternatus's Black Sludge or Life Orb. However, Pelipper is generally too frail to take powerful special hits, like Eternatus's Dynamax Cannon, and a lot of Pokemon, such as Zacian-C and Zamazenta, easily exploit the Electric weakness of Pelipper with Electric-type moves such as Wild Charge. U-turn is used with a Relaxed nature and 0 IVs in Speed in order to underspeed most of the opposing Pokemon and bring a different teammate in safely. It also allows Pelipper to set up the rain with Drizzle in a lead one-on-one situation against Hippowdon.

Swift Swim users, such as Seismitoad and Barraskewda, greatly benefit from Pelipper setting the rain with Drizzle. Seismitoad is especially notable with its Water / Ground typing, which gives it access to a powerful STAB move in Earth Power to bypass common Pokemon like Eternatus, which are usually good checks to most Swift Swim sweepers. Eternatus and Ferrothorn are also good teammates for rain teams thanks to their resistance to Electric-type moves, allowing them to take on dangerous Pokemon for rain teams, like Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Their resistance to Water is also appreciated due to Ditto's Imposter allowing it to revenge kill Swift Swim sweepers.

Banned deucer.
Its worth mentioning that Pelipper brings close to no defensive synergy for teams and its main use is for rain setting for Rain teams, while having a good matchup vs Sand.
