Done Pelipper [QC:2/2] [GP:1/1]

[SET]
Rain Setter (Pelipper) @ Sitrus Berry / Eject Button
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 2 HP / 32 SpA / 32 Spe or 32 HP / 32 Def / 2 SpA
Modest or Relaxed Nature
- Surf
- U-turn
- Roost
- Hurricane / Ice Beam / Knock Off

[SET COMMENTS]

Pelipper serves as the mandatory rain setter on rain teams thanks to Drizzle and a useful defensive typing. U-turn enables Pelipper to become a slow pivot, letting it sponge an attack and safely bring in teammates like Archaludon. Roost helps mitigate its weakness to Stealth Rock so that it can repeatedly set up rain and more comfortably check threats such as Sneasler, Mega Lopunny, and Annihilape. Hurricane synergizes with Drizzle, OHKOing threats like Quaquaval and Rillaboom. However, Ice Beam is an option to deal significant damage to Dragon-types like Garchomp and Dragonite. Knock Off is an alternative to remove items such as Corviknight's Rocky Helmet and Galarian Slowking's resistance Berries. An offensive spread with maximum Special Attack and Speed investment alongside a Modest nature improves damage against Pokemon like Mega Golisopod with Surf and Primarina with Hurricane. Alternatively, a physically defensive set with a Relaxed nature can be chosen to maximize Pelipper's ability to take hits from threats such as Blaziken and Dragonite, as well as enabling it to survive two Ceaseless Edges from Hisuian Samurott. Sitrus Berry provides immediate recovery without making Pelipper waste a turn using Roost; however, Mystic Water is an option to increase Pelipper's damage output. Alternatively, Eject Button allows it to pivot after taking a hit, preventing the loss of a rain turn.

Pelipper should only ever be used on rain teams alongside many teammates dedicated to taking advantage of Drizzle. Mega Swampert and Basculegion-M enjoy making use of rain to fire off a boosted Wave Crash and outspeed the majority of Pokemon thanks to Swift Swim. Mega Golisopod loves the weakening of Fire-type moves, which gives it more opportunities to use Swords Dance. It also appreciates the boosted power of Aqua Jet, which enables it to OHKO Pokemon like Blaziken and Cinderace at +2. Pelipper and its common teammates are very susceptible to entry hazards, so hazard prevention from Hatterene and Excadrill is appreciated, allowing Pelipper to enter multiple times without worrying about hazards cutting into its health. Mega Meganium is a valuable teammate, being able to switch into Electric-type moves from Pokemon like Rotom-Wash and Pawmot and threaten Water-types such as Primarina and Rotom-Wash. In return, Pelipper is able to weaken Fire-type attacks from Pokemon such as Ceruledge and Blaziken thanks to Drizzle. Archaludon appreciates the ability to instantly fire Electro Shot under rain, and it benefits from Pelipper's ability to bring it in safely against Pokemon such as Toxapex and switch into revenge killers like Mega Lopunny and Blaziken. Steel-types like Corviknight and Kingambit appreciate Pelipper setting up rain to weaken Fire-type moves; this enables Corviknight to switch into threats such as Life Orb Garchomp and remove hazards with Defog. Kingambit possesses a valuable resistance to Ghost- and Dark-type moves, aiding against threats such as Dragapult and Choice Scarf Hydreigon that rain teams often struggle against. With access to Low Kick alongside a Jolly nature, it can also be helpful against opposing Kingambit, which rain teams struggle against.

An offensive spread with maximum Special Attack and Speed investment alongside a Modest nature is ran, improving damage rolls against Pokemon like Mega Golisopod and Primarina a bit vague ngl; could mention letting pelipper ohko meganium after rocks, however this comes at the cost of decreased bulk. Alternatively, a physically defensive set with a Relaxed nature can be chosen to maximise hit taking against threats such as Blaziken and Dragonite could mention surviving lord rilla wood hammer OR almost avoiding 2hko from bulky hamu ceasless. Sitrus Berry provides immediate recovery without wasting a turn clicking Roost, however Mystic Water is an option to increase Pelipper's damage output with Surf, notably being able to 2HKO Pokemon such as Hisuian Samurott and Rillaboom attempting to switch in u might wanna specify modest or relaxed (or just have 2 calcs for each). Alternatively, Eject Button allows Pelipper to pivot after taking a hit, preventing the loss of a rain turn which is more impactful due to Pelipper's inability to run Damp Rock.

Pelipper should only ever be recommended on rain teams, alongside many teammates dedicated to taking advantage of Drizzle. Mega Golisopod loves the weakening of Fire-type moves, giving it more opportunities to click Swords Dance, while also appreciating the boosted power of Aqua Jet, enabling Mega Golisopod at +2 to OHKO Pokemon like Blaziken and Cinderace. In return, Pelipper is able to weaken Fire-type attacks from Pokemon such as Ceruledge and Blaziken thanks to Drizzle. Alternatively, a physically defensive set with a Relaxed nature can be chosen to maximise hit taking against threats such as Blaziken and Dragonite, as well as being able to survive 2 Ceaseless Edge's from Hisuian Samurott. Sitrus Berry provides immediate recovery without wasting a turn clicking Roost, however Mystic Water is an option to increase Pelipper's damage output with Surf, notably being able to 2HKO Pokemon such as Hisuian Samurott and Rillaboom 2HKOing them with double Surf is not relevant given that Pelipper can use Hurricane instead of Surf on the 2nd hit for higher damage, and Mystic Water does not fix the math. I think Mystic Water can be removed from the item options. with Modest who are attempting to switch in. Alternatively, Eject Button allows Pelipper to pivot after taking a hit, preventing the loss of a rain turn which is more impactful due to Pelipper's inability to run Damp Rock. no need to talk about banned items

Mention Jolly Kingambit with Low Kick specifically, since it greatly helps against opposing Kingambit that rain often struggles against.

Pelipper serves as the primary rain setter thanks to Drizzle and useful defensive typing and is a mandatory piece on rain teams. (do rain teams use another rain setter? no approval yet, I'd like an answer to my question regarding the first sentence so that I can figure out what to do from there

Pelipper serves as the primary mandatory rain setter on rain teams thanks to Drizzle and a useful defensive typing and is a mandatory piece on rain teams.

Implement the change above along with everything else in my check and it's 1/1.
