Type: Water/Flying
Abilities: Keen Eye / Drizzle / Rain Dish
Stats: 60 HP / 50 Atk / 100 Def / 95 SpA / 70 SpD / 65 Spe
Notable Attacks:
- Weather Ball
- Surf
- Hurricane
- U-turn
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Is the better of the two rain setters for Champions OU as its slow pivoting in U-turn allows its teammates in freely without them risking damage.
- Reliable recovery alongside good physical bulk lets Pelipper stay around to come in to bring back Rain if it has ended.
- Typing offers key resistances to Ground, Fighting, and Fire.
- Enables Swift Swim Pokemon like Basculegion-Forme and Archaludon.
- Damp Rock not being legal means rain is only 4-5 turns in the grand scheme of things instead of 8 turns, reducing its effectiveness in neutral matchups.
- Pelipper is Stealth Rock weak and cannot even run Boots to alleviate this issue.
- Poor special bulk while taking rocks damage doesn't help at all.
Main set
Pelipper @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Drizzle
Level: 50
EVs: 32 HP / 32 Def / 2 SpD
Bold Nature
- Weather Ball / Surf / Knock Off
- U-turn
- Roost
- Hurricane
Pelipper needs to invest in its bulk to improve its longevity switching in multiple times to enable rain while being bulky enough to tackle physical attackers that it is able to check like Garchomp and Sneasler. Hurricane is Flying STAB targeting Fighting types like Sneasler and Roost is mandatory to keep Pelipper's HP up. U-turn is required to give free turns to Pelipper's teammates to get in safely. Its low Speed tier allows it to U-turn second after Pokemon like Corviknight. Pelipper doesn't necessarily need to run Water STAB considering the partners that you will pair with it are often running Water-type moves so Knock Off is an option to annoy its defensive switchins like Galarian Slowking.

Special Attackers - Some of the tier's strongest special attackers like Mega Alakazam, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Floette, and Dragapult can easily dispatch Pelipper after Stealth Rock with their STABs or coverage.
