[SET COMMENTS]
Arceus-Water fills a valuable role in AG thanks to its ability to remove opposing defensive Pokemon while still providing useful defensive utility. Whirlpool enables Arceus-Water to trap passive Pokemon, such as opposing support Arceus formes, Chansey, Necrozma-DM, specially defensive Eternatus, Ferrothorn, defensive Primal Kyogre, Zygarde-C, and Tyranitar. Additionally, it can Dynamax in order to trap Ho-Oh and Lugia seeking to phaze Arceus-Water with Whirlwind to negate Whirlpool's trapping effect. Perish Song gives Arceus-Water a tool to remove Pokemon that it has trapped with Whirlpool and helps it to deter setup attempts by Pokemon such as Xerneas, Calm Mind Arceus, Zygarde-C, Vivillon, and Smeargle. Recover gives Arceus-Water a vital source of recovery, allowing it to switch into attacks reliably or remain in to stall out Calm Mind Arceus formes that have set up a Calm Mind, as well as giving it the longevity to remove multiple Pokemon throughout the match. Refresh is the preferred move for the fourth slot, as it allows Arceus-Water to trap Necrozma-DM, Chansey, specially defensive Eternatus, and defensive Primal Kyogre without having to stomach a Toxic, and act as a status absorber against the likes of Ho-Oh, Giratina, and Lunala. Ice Beam may be run instead, hitting Mega Rayquaza, Zygarde-C, Giratina, Eternatus, and Primal Groudon and ensuring that it is not setup fodder for those Pokemon. The given EVs with a Bold nature allow Arceus-Water to be as bulky as possible while outspeeding maximum Speed neutral-natured Kyogre or Primal Groudon.

Arceus-Water fits best on balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to remove common defensive Pokemon. Arceus-Water is also a great fit on bulky balance teams, in which it can provide valuable stallbreaking prowess. Notable good teammates include Yveltal, Calm Mind Arceus formes, and Xerneas, all of which appreciate the removal of Chansey and opposing Perish Song Arceus. Moreover, Arceus-Water can trap and remove Tyranitar for Yveltal; Calm Mind Arceus formes, notably Arceus-Dark, appreciate Arceus-Water's ability to eliminate Ho-Oh with Dynamax, and Xerneas can easily clean up the opposition once Necrozma-DM is removed, making them particularly effective partners. In addition, Zacian-C and Mega Rayquaza can pair well with Arceus-Water, since they can effectively take advantage of its ability to remove common walls like Necrozma-DM, Lugia, and support Arceus formes. If Arceus-Water forgoes Refresh, it's vulnerable to being whittled down by status, so caution should be taken with keeping it in against Pokemon that may carry Toxic, such as Chansey, Necrozma-DM, and Arceus-Water. Arceus-Water's inability to do significant damage to Primal Groudon can render it setup bait for Swords Dance sets. As such, Giratina and Zygarde-C can both work well with Arceus-Water, as they reliably check almost all Primal Groudon sets. Zacian-C can also switch almost freely into Arceus-Water repeatedly during the match, so Rocky Helmet Necrozma-DM is a good teammate for its ability to reliably stop Zacian-C and whittle down its health.

Arceus-Water fills a valuable role in AG thanks to its ability to remove opposing defensive Pokemon while still providing useful defensive utility. Whirlpool enables Arceus-Water to trap passive Pokemon, such as opposing support Arceus formes, Chansey, and Necrozma-DM, Zygarde-C specially defensive Eternatus, Ferrothorn, defensive Primal Kyogre, Zygarde-C and Tyranitar [re-ordered in descending relevance to me]. Additionally, it can Dynamax in order to trap Ho-Oh and Lugia seeking to phaze Arceus-Water with Whirlwind to negate Whirlpool's trapping effect, and the passive damage effect from Whirlpool can help Arceus-Water to break through threats such as Giratina that would otherwise effectively wall it [this seems somewhat circumstantial and Giratina is the only example I can think of but I'll keep it]. Perish Song gives Arceus-Water a tool to remove Pokemon that it has trapped with Whirlpool, and helps it to deter setup attempts by Pokemon such as Xerneas or Calm Mind Arceus formes. Perish Song also helps Arceus-Water to protect against otherwise threatening sweepers such as Dragon Dance Zygarde-C, Vivillon and Shell Smash + Power Trip Smeargle, which can otherwise wreak havoc on teams. Recover gives Arceus-Water a vital source of Recovery, allowing it to switch into attacks reliably, remain in to stall out Calm Mind Arceus formes that have had a setup turn, as well as giving the longevity to remove multiple opposing Pokemon throughout the match. Ice Beam is Arceus-Water's primary means of dealing damage, hitting Pokemon such as Primal Groudon, Mega Rayquaza, Zygarde-C, Giratina, Zygarde, and Eternatus and Primal Groudon [again, re-ordered in descending order of relevance], and ensuring that it is not setup fodder for those Pokemon. Additionally, Ice Beam can allow Arceus-Water to chip other threats and occasionally punish switch-ins with a chance of a freeze. The given EVs with a Bold nature allow Arceus-Water to be as bulky as possible while outspeeding max speed neutral nature Kyogre or Primal Groudon.

Arceus-Water fits best on balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its removal of common defensive Pokemon. Notable good teammates include Yveltal, Calm Mind Arceus formes, and Xerneas, which appreciate the removal of Tyranitar and Chansey and opposing Perish Song Arceus , respectively [tyranitar is not as likely to switch in as chans/arc]. Moreover, Calm Mind Arceus appreciates Arceus-Water's ability to eliminate Ho-Oh with Dynamax, making it a particularly effective partner. In addition, Zacian-C and Mega Rayquaza can pair well with Arceus-Water, since they can effectively take advantage of its ability to remove common walls like Necrozma-DM and support Arceus formes, as well as Lugia. Arceus-Water can dramatically ease the stall matchup for teams can provide an offensive presence on more passive teams that might otherwise struggle with stall, as well as providing a reasonably somewhat reliable check to Primal Groudon. Notably, because Arceus-Water forgoes Refresh, it's vulnerable to being whittled down by status, so caution should be taken with keeping it in against Pokemon that may carry toxic. In addition, Arceus-Water's inability to do significant damage to Primal Groudon over one or two turns can render it setup bait for Swords Dance sets. As such, Giratina and Zygarde-C can both work well with Arceus-Water, as they reliably check almost all Primal Groudon sets. Zacian-C can also switch almost freely into Arceus-Water repeatedly during the match, so Pokemon like defensive Primal Groudon and Rocky Helmet Necrozma-DM and defensive Primal Groudon are good teammates for their ability to reliably stop Zacian-C and whittle down its health. While clerical support can be useful to allow Arceus-Water to have greater longevity, in practice, the limitations on teambuilding from slotting either Chansey or Diancie can make it hard to have enough offensive presence to justify a Perish Song + Whirlpool set on Arceus-Water, with either a Judgment + Toxic or Ice Beam + Will-O-Wisp a support Refresh set often fitting better being preferable.
