[OVERVIEW]

Although Persian is faster than most of the unboosted metagame and has access to Nasty Plot and Technician, it is unfortunately a terrible Pokemon. None of its stats are particularly good outside of its Speed, which means it won't hit very hard, can't easily set up, and is easy to revenge kill with priority moves and Choice Scarf users. Persian is outclassed as a specially offensive Normal-type by Drampa, which hits much harder without even needing to set up and also has a secondary Dragon typing. Persian is also outclassed as a Nasty Plot sweeper by Alolan Raichu and Alolan Persian, with the former having a higher Special Attack stat and using its secondary Psychic typing to threaten Pokemon like Hitmonchan and Roselia, while the latter's access to Fur Coat provides it with actual defensive presence and makes setting up much easier.

This set aims to use Persian's small niches, which are Technician, its high Speed, its access to Nasty Plot, and its decent coverage options, to make it a threatening setup sweeper. However, its poor defensive presence ultimately holds it back, as it can't safely switch into anything, struggles to comfortably set up, and is easy to revenge kill. To make matters worse, its low Special Attack basically makes setting up a requirement if Persian wishes to hit hard, and it also means that even at +2, Persian doesn't hit very hard.

Persian is also outclassed as a Nasty Plot sweeper by Alolan Persian, which actually provides defensive utility and sets up easier because of Fur Coat and can support its team with Parting Shot. you can probably mention alolachu as a competitor for a nasty plot user too since its special attack/stab is better and can hit things like chan with psyshock
