Resource Pet Mods Submissions Thread

Pet Mod Name: One Buff One Chance
Pet Mod Concept: A Pet Mod where each Pokémon receives exactly one impactful buff, aiming to explore how a single change can significantly alter a Pokémon’s viability and role.
Explanation:
In this Pet Mod, each eligible Pokémon is allowed only one change, chosen from the following options: new ability , new move single stat increase (+30 or 40 Depend on Pokemon we can Split also like 20 in attack and 20 in speed ) No Pokémon may receive more than one buff. The intent is to keep changes simple, focused, and high-impact, rather than full reworks or modifications. The mod focuses on showing how even a single adjustment can meaningfully affect a Pokémon’s competitive presence, encouraging creative but controlled design choices. Submissions would be handled through community participation, with voting determining which buffs are accepted into the metagame.
Miscellaneous: This Pet Mod focuses on single impactful buffs rather than complex reworks. The aim is to explore how one change can meaningfully alter a Pokémon’s role while keeping the process simple and accessible.

I guess I'll be taking over from here

:sv/umbreon:UmbreMons:sv/umbreon:
Pet Mod Name: UmbreMons
Pet Mod Concept: The next iteration in the [eevee]-mons series of mods, UmbreMons seeks to base itself around the existing Pokémon Champions meta. This mod also seeks to focus on more Doubles/VGC-centric gameplay of which Champions itself seems to be putting an emphasis on. Given Champions is live service and adding new waves of additions, this mod will attempt to also keep up with said additions, automatically expanding the roster & vanilla items accessible, although that doesn't prevent non-present Pokemon & Items from being freed before they get added to Champions.
Explanation: If you're familiar with JolteMons, VaporeMons, GlaceMons or SylveMons then you already know basically how UmbreMons will work with the slight exception that you can also submit Pokemon/Items not yet in champions. If not, here is a full explanation of the rules below:
Rules
Submission Phase (5 days)
-
During the submission phase, you can submit 4 new or changed moves, items, abilities and Pokemon from past games as well as 4 non-stat adjustments to Pokémon. Templates are provided below. There are very few restrictions for what you can do with moves, items, and abilities, but please keep your submissions balanced and codeable because the council reserves the right to veto any submission deemed uncompetitive, broken, or unfeasible. For Pokémon Adjustments, you can change the Pokémon's typing, abilities, and add or removes moves (or even simply freeing the Pokemon from Champions Dexit). You cannot create new moves or abilities for the Pokémon, you must submit those as part of your moves or ability submissions. Multiple moves / items / abilities can be subbed in one slot if they are clones of each other and multiple Pokémon can be adjusted in one slot if they are direct counterparts of each other.

Voting Phase (1 day) -
During the voting phase, you may vote for up to 6 submissions in each category. You are allowed 2 self-votes. The top voted submissions will win and be added to the metagame, with at least 2 winners in each category.

Discussion (1 day) -
The discussion phase of each slate gives us a quick period of rest to get the newest slate coded, discuss what we got in the newest slate, and potentially do a little playtesting before the next slate. Unlike in JolteMons, distribution discussion is no formally longer part of the discussion phase, with distribution now being decided by council.
As an update: after some talk with the council, freeing dexited mons will be off the table as part of the mod, the only way mons can be freed into the roster will be via them being offially freed into Champions.

Current Council (WIP):
- Rasdanation
- Yoshiblaze
- whimsy russell
- cat111ca
- AquaticPanic
- Gekokeso
- TBD

If anyone else may find interest in partaking in this mod's council, feel free to shoot me a message.

Pet Mod Concept: Bring 12, Pick 6 Doubles metagame based on Champions OU. Each submission slate will focus on a specific part of the meta (Pokemon, Abilities, Moves, Items, etc.), and will ask submitters to make the most out-there changes they can think of, whether those be adjustments to existing mechanics or adding new ones, without the usual "no new weathers" or "no triple-typed mons" type caveats that other mods often have.

Explanation: I've felt for a while now that modern Pet Mods take themselves too seriously. Every mod barring a couple exceptions is either a Clean Slate derivative, a Sylvemons derivative, or some mixture of the two, and they're all 6v6 Singles metas based either on SV OU or National Dex. The focus on balance has led to more mods being coded and improved tournaments, but it's also meant people aren't experimenting nearly as much with their submissions, and it hasn't really led to more day-to-day play. Everything feels boring and same-y these days, and I want to do something about it. So, we have Commander. I've always felt that "make everything broken"-type metas have a lot of potential for being wacky and fun if run well, so I wanted to try my hand at the premise and see if we can come out on the other side with a meta that feels as unique as something like Iron Fist.

:Rayquaza-Mega:National Dex Anything Goes (but good) :Rayquaza-Mega: name wip
Pet Mod Concept: The idea is to start off with the removed ladder format NDAG and apply balance changes to make it an enjoyable.

Explanation:
Since the concept of Anything Goes is that nothing is banned the balance changes would come by first of deciding how and if certain mechanics that have not appeared in the same game yet should be implemented( e.g. Dynamax, Terastallization, Z-moves. Megas, the ability of certain moves to be called by Assist), then later redesigning Pokemon to make them fill a niche the Metagame needs.

Also i would like to give post gen 7 status moves Z-effects cause that sounds cool

Welcome to June! My, if everyone's unloading their Pet Mod arsenals, so will I! Here goes, with a full party of six....
Name: IT'S OVER 9,000!!!
Pet Mod Concept:
In this AG micrometa, stats are allowed to go past the limit of 255!
Explanation
: A BST limit will be set before the first slate begins, decided by the community vote.
Miscellaneous: Custom elements are allowed.

Name: Double Pridemons All The Way Across The Sky
Pet Mod Concept:
A double battles micrometa where submissions consist of two Pokémon rather than one, designed to help support each other, and they cannot be seperated!
Explanation: Each slate, a person may submit up to 3 pairs. To include a pair in your team, both Pokémon in the pair must be in the team: For example, if you include Fakemon AA, it's partner, Fakemon AB, must also be included.
Miscellaneous: Custom elements are allowed.

Name: Who's that Pokémon?!
Pet Mod Concept:
In this micrometa, Fakemon are designed based off pre-provided shadows of existing Pokémon.
Explanation: Each slate has a single shadowed Pokémon for you to base your three submissions around, with the three with the most votes joining the metagame.
Miscellaneous: Custom elements are not allowed.

Name: 18 Types, 18 ways: Revenge of Ball
Pet Mod Concept: A micrometa that works as a Pet Mod version of Balls: Only one pure-type fakemon of each type is available here!
Explanation
: There will be 18 slates, one for each type and with one winner each: Once a Fakemon wins and becomes a part of the metagame, it's type cannot be used again for the rest of the Pet Mod.
Miscellaneous: Since this is designed to work as a Pet Mod version of Balls, custom elements are not allowed.

Name: Diamond Hand
Pet Mod Concept:
Daiyakuza has concocted his very own micrometa with a unique twist based on the rules of Iron Fist...each slate, a Supreme Leader, starting with me, UberTrainer, will enlist a set of rules for submissions that viewers can follow. Then, when submissions end, the Supreme Leader can choose to approve any number of submissions. Once that has been done, viewers vote on whether to keep the current Supreme Leader, or overthrow them and replace them, but here's the twist: If the vote to overthrow the supreme leader passes through, whoever casts their vote last will become the new Supreme Leader!
Explanation: Much like Iron Fist, you are allowed to submit almost anything, including new Pokémon, items, moves, abilities, and rules, as long as you follow the Supreme Leader's rules for the slate.
Miscellaneous: Custom elements are definitley allowed.

And, saving the craziest one for last...
Name: Milkmons
Pet Mod Concept:
A micrometa where, at the very first slate, an existing Pokémon is chosen, and then all Fakemon in the micrometa are variations of that chosen Pokémon!
Explanation: In the first slate, people can submit an existing Pokémon to get the chance to become the Milkmon. Then, when voting begins, the Pokémon with the most votes will win. In every slate after that, people can submit up to three submissions, as long as they are variations of the winning Pokémon!
Miscellaneous: Custom elements are allowed, and Species Clause is not present here for obvious reasons. Submissions can either be forms or convergent variants.

Pet Mod name: National Dex Hackmons

Pet Mod Premise: Gen9 hackmons but everything ever added to pokemon (that is able to be) is available, with one rule, ONE Emax max.

Explanation: it's lowk in the name lmao, basically National Dex Hackmons, one Emax with Zmoves, Mega, Tera (except on Emax)
D/Gmax and the gems, once i fully finish the code for it i will edit this with the challenge code attached,

PS! (reference haha) if this isn't the right place to post, don't ban me, I was directed here

Approval time, yipeeeee!

Pet Mod Name: [Gen 3] Colosseum Rentals
Pet Mod Concept: A pet mods successor to Gen 1 and 2 Stadium rentals. Due to the lack of stadium cups, rentals will be made with a PL2005 metagame in mind. Meaning pokemon not legal for that tournament (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, and anything that evolves over 50) will not be given rentals.
Explanation: Slate 0 will be determining EV spreads. Some for more offensive pokemon, some for more defensive ones, and some for more support ones. Beyond that, a group of pokemon will be chosen to make sets for. Slate 1's sets will determine the general power level of the metagame. In general, the stronger the pokemon, the worse the moves, Evs, and IV spreads theyre given. There will be no items and all natures will be neutral. Also, illegal combonations can be included. No clue how long this will go. Until we get bored maybe?
Miscellaneous: If we ever get bored we can maybe vote to make new rentals for one of the other adv vgc formats. Maybe JAA/JAO?

Edit: Fix to the above. There will be a slate 0 and a slate .5. Slate 0 determines the official metagame we create rentals for. JAA, JAO, PL2005, festa, etc. Slate .5 is the ev spread slate.
This should be a very fun and unique Pet Mod to make submissions for and I personally find how Stadium and its sequels built its Rental Sets super interesting, so I'm very curious to see how this goes. Approved.

This is a very simple but very fun idea, should make for very creative submissions to figure out how to get the most out of a Pokemon's one chance. Approved.

It's another take on an EeveeMod, which are always fun (which I can say from experience, of course), and should be especially interesting since this'll be the first Doubles-oriented one. Approved.

Speaking of Double metagames, encouraging people to just let loose and trying to build a metagame around that should be super chaotic, but super fun, another one that I'm interested to see play out. Approved.

:porygon: Dex Infinite (Random Battle) :porygon:

The Concept: Every other tier, like ever, has had a set number of Pokemon that can exist. But why do that when you can create unique Pokemon every game you play?

Explanation: When you start a game of Dex Infinite Random Battle, the team generation will create a Pokemon with a completely unique name and stat spread. These Pokemon will then have types, moves, items, and abilities assigned to them (more on that below.)

How can one contribute to this concept?

An array of moves/items/abilities must be assigned to each Pokemon - we can't create infinite of those. Submissions will create the pools of available elements to assign to these Pokemon, (possibly including custom elements).

How would it work?

Once a Pokemon's stat spread is determined, an algorithm will determine best its role (Bulky Attacker, Setup Sweeper, etc.) From there, it will generate semi-random moves that complement its typing and role, and an Ability to benefit that. Lastly, a held item will be chosen.

As a balancing mechanic, Abilities and moves chosen for this pool should be relatively balanced with each other (i.e. all recovery moves in the pool should heal the same amount, there shouldn't be a 40 BP move for one type and a 110 BP for another (looking at you, Poltergeist), or a 55 BP physical move for one type, but a 70 BP special variant. Yes, there is some variance in the base game, but they should be close to each other.)
One of the craziest ideas we've seen for a mod in awhile, a metagame with literally infinite possibilities should make for something with infinite potential, while still being accessible to submit to since the coding does the heavy lifting here. Approved.

And that's all for now!

Remember that if your mod wasn't approved this time around and wasn't explicitly rejected, then don't worry, as it can still be approved during the next round of approvals, which will come sooner than you think!

See you soon!

Pet Mod Name: Better Hackmons(BeH for short)
Pet Mod Concept: SVBH, but with community input on what elements to add to the tier to increase competitiveness/fun/balance.
Explanation: To start, it will be SVBH, but with all pokemon above 600 BST banned, as an attempt to decrease both threat oversaturation and centralization. Each slate will give the community an opportunity to have input on the meta, whether by banning/unbanning pokemon, abilities, or items, or by creating changes like nerfs/buffs, reworks, or entirely new pokemon, moves, or abilities. The goal is to create a hackmons tier where as many pokemon, teams, and strategies are as viable as possible, while trying to limit the amount of things like matchup-fishes and cheese tactics.
Miscellaneous: anaconja has agreed to help with this on grounds of wanting to make a BH petmod, but not having the metagame knowledge to make it work. I will also need a group of handlers people that will stop me from banning focus sash on principle a council if this is approved, so if you're interested in either coding this or helping on the management side, feel free to reach out.

Pet Mod Name: Cinémons
Pet Mod Concept: Who doesn't like a good movie? A fakemon pet mod thats based on movie genres
Explanation: Slates will be focused on making fakemons based on the chosen movie genre. The fakemon basis can be anything from a movie characters from the genres; the genres itself; the movies themselves; and/or a bit of everything. The movie genre for each slate will be chosen at random. Custom elements(excluding items) are allowed within reason. This pet mod will be SV based and the plan for it is to go at least 8-10 slates(There could be room for more). As far as rules go, for this mod anyone can sub up to three fakemon. Voting rules would be the standard ones: no self votes in first slot, and votes equal a certain number of points (2 for first slot, 1 for the rest). Slates will last a week unless an extension is needed. The final slate will be a special slate based on what inspired this concept; the pokestar studio props from the BW games.
Miscellaneous: Looking for the following: potential council members to help with vetoes and meta balance patches and possible coders (if they want to; otherwise I can code it myself).

:sv/basculegion:
Bloodline
Pet Mod Name: Bloodline
Pet Mod Concept: A set of donor fakemon are submitted, who are then used to create new reciever fakemon. The reciever fakemon must have one of its donors on the team with it.
Explanation: During a Slate 0, everyone submits 1-3 fakemon, who are the donors. People would vote for the top 10 donors, who are the starting donors. Every other slate (slate 2, slate 4, slate 6, etc) people can submit a new donor, on top of their regular sub. Only one donor can be voted in for these slates. Donors are special, because their traits (typings, abilties, hp stat, attack stat, defense stat, special attack stat, special defense stat, speed stat, moves) are added into a pool, which all other pokemon draw from. These pokemon are the 'recievers'. In order to use a reciever, it must have at least one donor on the team, which it draws at least one trait from. (also note that donors can contribute both of their typings, or only one, you can have multiple donors contribute to one type combo).
Ok, lets say we have 5 donors: Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur, Raichu and Machamp (do note in the pet mod these would be custom fakemon, these are just examples). I could make a mon which looked something like this very quick example:

Name: [unnamed fakemon]
Typing: Flying/Electric (Flying from charizard, electric from raichu)
Abilities: Guts / Lighting Rod (guts from machamp, lightning rod from raichu)
Stats: 78/130/55/90/85/110 (548) (HP from charizard, ATK from machamp, DEF from raichu, spATK from Raichu, spDEF from charizard, SPD from Raichu)
Movepool: Volt Tackle, Acrobatics, Dual Wingbeat, Volt Switch, Trailblaze, etc etc (moves from raichu and charizard)
Flavour: blah blah blah
Role: blah blah blah

so this pokemon would require at least one of the following on the team: Charizard, Machamp, or Raichu. (you could still put blastoise or venusaur on the team, you'd just need charizard, machamp or raichu as well). However the big part is that, if you want a diverse team of six, all the pokemon will draw from different donors, so you gotta balance the team around that.
Miscellaneous: Custom elements are allowed.
