i’m really trying to maintain long form conversations with people I meet through friends or while out at bars/parties, but it can be hard with the last two years of collective emotional and social stunting we’ve experienced behind screens

Help me (and yourselves) out by dropping your most epic-est conversation starters, i’ll start and feel free to give me critiques

Excellent thread idea dave! I'm not normally incline to share my secrets re: pick up artistry, but as a self-proclaimed master of picking up I feel as though it's my sacred duty to share my lines with the.... 'unfortunates' of Smogoff

At the start of every "encounter", I roll a series of dice in order to determine certain phrases I should speak. This gives my pick up lines a sort of natural, off the cuff energy that most other pick up lines lack. If the opposing party questions the somewhat disturbing amount of dice you have on your person, remove yourself from the encounter immediately

me (towards a stranger whom I do not know): Hello/Hey/Hi/Yo (depending on what number I roll) stranger

stranger:*insert their reply (i do not know what their reply is)*

me: What is your name?

stranger: *insert reply (see above)*

me: Haha wow thats unfortunate. Anyways you wanna see this dead beetle head i found on a window sill

Regardless of what they say, always show them the beetle head. It might sound unorthodox but trust me, it works every time

Oh crap, I wasn't supposed to take it literally, got to think of something that would grab their attention

microwave a pack of hotdogs and then eat them all while staring into the person's eyes. It is important that you maintain silent eye contact as the microwave is cooking the hotdogs
