[OVERVIEW]

Because of its consistently low stats barring Speed and small movepool, Pidgeot is an unviable and completely outclassed Flying-type in PU. Offensively, Pidgeot is outclassed by other Flying-types like Swanna, Scyther, Oricorio-E, and Dodrio in particular, which can hit harder have more useful coverage with boosting moves like Swords Dance. Additionally, its mediocre typing and stats offer nothing defensively over Articuno, Altaria, or other Defog users like Skuntank. Pidgeot often doesn't force much out, while other Defog users like Swanna and Skuntank can use Defog while the opponent is switching.

[SET]
name: Defog
move 1: Defog
move 2: Roost
move 3: Brave Bird
move 4: U-turn
item: Sky Plate
ability: Big Pecks
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Pidgeot's best set attempts to provide entry hazard removal while at the same time being able to U-turn on the few Pokemon it threatens, like Ludicolo and Pinsir. Pidgeot can use Roost to stay alive because it's unfortunately weak to the ever-present Stealth Rock. Unfortunately, Pidgeot offensively and defensively struggles to do its job as an offensive Defog user. Skuntank outclasses Pidgeot as a Defog user that threatens Grass-types while also threatening hazard setters like Mesprit and Alolan Sandslash, and offensive Dodrio and Swanna outclass Pidgeot as a Flying-type attacker.

Offensively, Pidgeot is outclassed by other Flying-types like Swanna, Scyther, Oricorio (nitpicky but specify forme), and Dodrio in particular, which hit harder and have more useful coverage (also has access to swords dance). Additionally, its mediocre typing and stats offers nothing defensively over Articuno (altaria too) or other defoggers like Skuntank. Pidgeot can't do much to bulky Pokemon and can't wall many notable PU threats. (would make this sentence about how defoggers like skuntank and swanna force several more mons out which facilitates their ability to defog which is something pidge can't do nearly as well).

[SET]
name: Defog
move 1: Defog
move 2: Roost
move 3: Brave Bird
move 4: U-turn
item: Sky Plate
ability: Big Pecks
nature: Jolly
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe (make this 252 attack instead tbh, its bulk is pretty bad as it is and with attack investment it can at least 2hko shit like clef and bulky sensu)

[SET COMMENTS]
Pidgeot's best set attempts to provide hazard removal, while at the same time being able to U-Turn on the few Pokemon it threatens. Pidgeot can use Roost to stay alive, because it's unfortunately weak to the ever present Stealth Rock. Its ability, Big Pecks, is nearly useless, and Sky Plate gives Pidgeot's Brave Bird a bit more power that it appreciates, but its EV spread doesn't give. (set comments shouldn't be detailing the moveset like this. talking about its inconsistency to defog/lack of power and defensive utility is fine tho) Skuntank outclasses Pidgeot as a defogger that threatens Grass Types (special skunk also threatens setters like mes and alolaslash), while offensively Dodrio and Swanna outclass Pidgeot as a Flying-type attacker.

Unfortunately, Pidgeot offensively and defensively struggles to do its job as an offensive (redundant) Defog user. Skuntank outclasses Pidgeot as a Defog user that threatens Grass Types, while also threatening hazard setters like Mesprit and Alolan Sandslash (end sentence here so this isn't a run-on), and offensively Dodrio and Swanna outclass Pidgeot as a Flying-type attacker.

Just gonna implement and upload this myself, I've bothered dom about this already and he's clearly active so I suppose a single GP check is just too much now for whatever reason
