Shieldon [F] [Artemis]
Types: Rock/Steel
>Rock
Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by three (3) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

>Steel
immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

Abilities::
>Sturdy [Passive]
This Pokemon's body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.
>Soundproof [Passive](H)
Pokemon with this ability emit their own powerful electrostatic or sound-dampening field, making them immune to sound-based moves other than an ally's or their own Heal Bell. (Known sound moves: Boomburst, Bug Buzz, Chatter, Disarming Voice, Echoed Voice, Grass Whistle, Growl, Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Perish Song, Relic Song, Roar, Round, Screech, Sing, Snarl, Snore, Supersonic, Uproar.)

Types: Steel/Psychic
>Steel
immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

>Psychic
can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks

Abilities::
>Levitate [Passive]
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.
>Heatproof [Passive]
This Pokemon's mirror-like alloyed skin protects it from Fire-type attacks, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.) The damage inflicted by burns is also cut in half.
>Heavy Metal [Passive] (H)
The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its actual weight

Ralts [Female] [Sonata]
280.png
"But first, lunch! It's Taco Tuesday!"
Sonata wasn't always a good Pokemon. She used to be a part of a gang, the Sirens, luring people and Pokemon to them with their beautiful singing, and then knocking them out with Hyper Voice, Echoed Voice, Sing, Boomburst... If it was a sound move, they used it. They were eventually forced apart by powers greater than theirs, and so Sonata wandered, stealing from Pokemon and Trainers she knocked out or drew the pity of. One day, she came across GP having a Taco Picnic with Scrappy and Abigail. She tried to sneak up on them, hoping to steal their tasty, tasy tacos, as they are her favorite food. Scrappy sensed her with his growing aura abilities, and notified GP of her presence. He smiled, asking her to come out. She did, trying to act natural and look cute instead of looking super suspicious. It fooled Scrappy, but not Abigail. Luckily, Abigail was intrigued by Sonata, hoping to finally meet another semi-sadistic Pokemon. Meanwhile, Scrappy's eyes turned into big, pink hearts at the sight of her, and he quickly reached into the basket to give her a taco. Taken aback, and suspicious of this Crucibelle giving her a weird look, Sonata took a bite of the taco, looking at GP appraisingly. The taco was amazing. Sonata's eyes widened in wonder at this Mexican glory, and she almost literally threw herself into one of GP's Pokeballs. Over time, she's grown a strong relationship with Abigail and Scrappy, Abigail and her being the resident semi-sadists, and Scrappy trying to be her "white knight". Even today, he still shrugs off the depths of her repressed depravity, always saying that "all she needs is some acceptance and friendship!" Maybe he's right. Who knows. Sonata's also developed a sort of rivalry with Argent, with Argent seeing Sonata as a troublesome, disobedient child, and Sonata seeing Argent as an overcontrolling, unwelcome mother. To this day, GP is unable to tell Sonata that the tacos weren't his... They were a gift from his much more talented Mexican friend. T_T
Types: Psychic/Fairy
Psychic: STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Fairy: STAB: -1 EN on non-Fairy typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
Abilities:
Synchronize (Passive) Pokemon with this ability mentally link their condition to an opposing Pokemon and when inflicted by the major status ailments Burn, Poison, or Paralysis, will share their status condition with the opponent. Pokemon will not be inflicted by status conditions to which they are immune by virtue of typing, ability, etc.
Trace (Trigger) When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. When facing a pokemon with Trace, the Player sending out last must send out the pokemon without orders, in order to give the opponent the opportunity to trigger trace and any orders eventually given will be ignored until given the opportunity for trace to be triggered. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced. Command: Activate Trace (target ability) - 5 En - Replace Trace with the target Ability for six (6) actions. When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace.
Telepathy (Passive) (Hidden) (Locked) This Pokemon has a mental link with its allies in multiple battles, which allows it to avoid taking damage from allied attacks that damage each foe or the entire field like Blizzard and Earthquake. They are still affected by an opponents spread damage attacks.

Gastly [Yosty] (Male)
092.png
Yosty is comprised of the spirits of 2 small twin children: David and Daniel. Daniel is fun and excitable, but has a strong sense of duty and loyalty. David is the more responsible of the two, and tends to be the voice of reason in the back of Daniel's mind, as Daniel is usually the dominant ego, but sometimes David comes off as a bit arrogant and "holier than thou". Despite their differences, David and Daniel have learned to cooperate and communicate in one body, and get along quite well. GP has found that they both love playing baritone, and are both quite good at it. (Don't tell Daniel, but David's the better one.)
Types:
Ghost: STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.
Poison: STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic status. Absorb Toxic Spikes on switch-in unless Flying-typed or using the ability Levitate. -- Accuracy when using Toxic, Poison Gas, or Poison Powder, hitting even during Dig, Fly, etc. Ignore Fog's accuracy reduction. Store Command.
Abilities:
Levitate (Passive) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. When it comes to Pokemon battling, the duality between the tangible and the intangible is of the utmost importance. Some trainers hone in on only that which can be seen with the eyes, placing their faith in the biggest, sturdiest, hardest-hitting Pokemon. However, other trainers seek to surpass the limitations of the here-and-now and bring their weapons from beyond the physical realm, knowing that the greatest forces in the universe are often felt without being seen.

Granny Pie, of course, is the wisest of all, having brought a gun.

A word of warning: "IF Shieldon is under P/E when you are to act, AND NOT Dodge" requires two sub slots to use because it contains two attack clauses that target the same Pokemon on the same action.

Post-Round
Shieldon's EN rounds down to 77.
Artemis the Shieldon is the first battler to enter the arena today. Even though she's unevolved, her sturdy battle stance and stadium-shaking footsteps indicate bulk like that of a fully-trained bruiser. Her opponent, Sonata the Ralts (ooh, shiny) floats out of her Pokeball in graceful contrast to her heavy-set foe.

Sonata takes the initiative by mocking her opponent ruthlessly ("shield-face", "manhole cover", etc). Artemis loses it at "Toilet bowl lid" and charges in recklessly, missing wide in her rage and denting a nearby wall in the process. Rather than attack, Sonata continues to belittle the Shieldon, but it appears that she's gone too far -- Artemis brutally crushes her underneath her massive skull in a savage, self-destructive takedown. Reeling in pain, the Ralts tries to mellow things out by using its psychic powers to mentally disable Artemis' attack. However, the Psychic-type hastily fumbles the procedure and looks a tad bit silly as she eats another Take Down.

Don't forget to specify a move to target when using Disable!

Post-Round
Ralts' HP rounds down to 38.

Shieldon's EN rounds down to 57.
Aand, we're back underway! Looks like Sonata's finally getting serious -- she begins to concentrate intensely, and as she does so shadows from all corners of the arena crawl towards her hands. Like a child playing with Play-Dough, Sonata begins to mold the oozing darkness into a sphere. Then, with but a thought she sends the fearsome blob hurtling towards Artemis at light-speed! The unorthodox power of the attack causes her foe to drop her guard in shock.

It'll take a while for Artemis to regain her defensive composure, but there's no time to worry about that right now. Hold onto your seats, everybody! In a single, heaving motion Artemis leans back onto her hind legs then pounds her feet down, shaking the whole stadium and knocking Sonata upside-down! Sonata doesn't seem to pleased about that, so she spends her next action... uh... it appears she's focusing intensely on something, but whatever it is she's doing I don't see it. Psychic-types are weird, man.

Artemis gives her foe a solid whack with her whole body as a battering ram, and Sonata returns with yet another shadow ball. Finally, the Shieldon gears up for another Earthquake. Once again she leans back and lifts up her front legs. Then she waits for a moment. And another. And another? Frozen in place, she frantically tells her legs to move, but somehow her body refuses to cooperate. Eventually, she loses her balance, tumbling head-over-heels and (purely by accident) colliding with Sonata in a sloppy heap. Surely this was the result of Sonata's telepathic shenanigans.

It's almost as if there's something about getting Taunted that makes Shieldon's Take Downs go way off track. And really, there's nothing like missing an attack right after getting Taunted that makes a Pokemon go bonkers. So, the kid gloves are coming off with this next attack! At first, it looks like a normal Earthquake, but there's nothing normal about the stadium splitting right in half! From Artemis' feet, a giant chasm cracks open the ground and splits towards Sonata like a lightning bolt. Sonata's mocking grin turns into panic; she quickly puts up her best defensive stance.

Just as the fissure is about to swallow up Sonata, though, it takes a sharp turn to the right and finally comes to a stop. Not all that surprising, honestly, considering how uncontrollable that kind of move tends to be. After that drama, it seems both battlers are comfortable with reverting back to their normal routines: Sonata firing off another Shadow Ball and Shieldon countering with an ordinary Take Down. Still, it seems the crazy stress this round, coupled with the constant fighting up until now, has left both fighters very tired.

Right away, Sonata opts for a defensive approach. Artemis, however, has no such reservations. She takes a running start and slams into Sonata -- or, well, she should have, but right before the impact Sonata performs a Vegas-quality teleportation act, vanishing instantly and materializing several yards away. In the time it takes Artemis to get back on her feet, the elusive Ralts has already used her psychic powers to seal away her Take Down for the next couple rounds.

Next, Artemis pummels the ground with a stadium-rocking Earthquake! I'm spotting more than a few spilled drinks in the peanut gallery, so I'd like to remind our spectators that open containers are
not permitted in the stands while Earthquake-users are in battle.

Finally, although both fighters are on the verge of passing out from exhaustion, Sonata is the only one with the presence of mind to take a break and recharge. Artemis, egged on by Sonata's vicious taunting yet mentally shackled by unseen psychic powers, throws herself at Sonata in a primal burst of rage and nearly knocks the both of them out in the process.

In the blink of an eye, Sonata vanishes! Artemis, who hadn't even begun an attack yet, can't help but laugh at her opponent's apparent cowardice. So much for a dramatic finish! With a huff, she returns to her Poke Ball for a well-deserved rest.

Right after Artemis leaves the arena, Narcissus the Bronzor leaps out of the shadows at the unsuspecting Ralts! A clean KO if I ever saw one. However, it looks like Sonata still has one trick left up her sleeve: with the last of her energy, she tears into Narcissus' very soul, erasing a whole third of its HP in the process. With such a HP deficit -- as well as an impending type disadvantage -- Narcissus is going to have a tough time turning things back around.

Is it unethical to enter the souls of dead children into a glorified cockfighting tournament? Probably. But the rules allow it, so here we are. Yosty explodes out of his (their?) Poke Ball in a puff of noxious-smelling purple gunk.

This round, Yosty kicks things off with a Curse powerful enough to make even the most courageous of hearts tremble with dread. Narcissus responds by tilting itself back and using its shiny body like a mirror to bounce a sunbeam right into Yosty's eyes. It may not do any damage, but the distraction leaves Yosty wide open to a crippling Hypnosis attack! While Yosty dozes peacefully, Narcissus prepares a shimmering, translucent barrier of light -- I don't think Yosty will be too pleased to see
that when he wakes up.
