Platinum Help For My Old Team?

This team is the team I created (with help from others) and used for the Smogon World Cup tournament, back a while ago. I've used this team since and have had rather a lot of success, until now. With the Introduction of Platinum, which I wasn't even aware of until last week (when I started playing Pokemon again), my team is getting raped left, right and center.
As I've stated before, this is a relatively old team, and I can't remember what a few of the EV's are designed for, so please forgive me with that.

Moving on:

--Zapdos-------Hippowdon----Tentacruel------Mamoswine-----Gyarados------Lucario--

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/36 Spd/82 SAtk/140 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- HEAT WAVE
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

My Lead. Zapdos uses a bulky sleep talking set, that can hit hard, before resting off the damage. The EVs allow it to stay bulky enough to laugh at Heatran (among others), cause some serious damage with Boltbeam and outspeed max speed TTar and Gliscor.

Hippowdon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock

My Physical Wall. Takes hits like a beast, sets up SR and phazes out any threats.
EV's are pretty self explanatory. :)
---

dpffa073.png

Tentacruel (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 216 HP/156 SAtk/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Ice Beam

My Special Tank. Can take hits from Special Attackers well, lay Toxic Spikes and Spin any away any of my opponents own spikes or stealth rocks, whilst simply absorbing any toxic spikes.
I'm unsure of the EVs, I'll look into them and edit this later. Sorry guys. =/

Mamoswine (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 24 HP/252 Atk/232 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Shard
- Ice Fang

My Late Game Sweeper. Mamoswine is a god. Pretty self-explanatory.

Gyaaaahhhh! (Gyarados) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/16 Atk/180 Def/100 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge

Standard Bulkydos, fairly straightforward. Chose Stone Edge over Earthquake for the better coverage.

Lucario (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Swords Dance
- Crunch

My Revenge Killer. Comes in, Uses Swords Dance and he's off. Extremespeed allows me to beat out faster opponents and revenge kill, whilst Close Combat and Crunch add type coverage and STAB.

Changes

I admit I don't know a whole lot about Platinum, but the main changes that occur to me are:

  • Switch Lucario to Scizor, maybe CB it and change Mamo around a bit.
  • Switch HP Ice on Zapdos, Heat Wave makes a additional offensive type of move that my team lacks, and HP Grass covers Swampert, who is always a threat.
  • Switch Liquid Ooze to Clear Body, to allow it to wall Skymin, without having it's Sp.Def harshly lowered.
But then again, I don't really know much about Platinum or the Metagame changes he brings with it. How 'bout you guys? :)

CHANGES ARE IN BOLD CAPS.

This team does look pretty solid, I'll say.

I would definitely go with Heat Wave > HP Ice on Zapdos. It still covers Skymin but it has the additional ability of hitting Forretress who can set up his spikes on a few of your pokemon as well as spin away all of Tentacruels work.

When you have a pokemon like Mamoswine who has 2 great STABs and great coverage otherwise, you don't really want to get it stuck on one move. I propose you remove the Choice Band and in return give it a Life Orb. This will make it a better late game sweeper (like you said it was for you).

Thanks for the feedback bud, decided to switch to Heat Wave over HP Ice. Might go LO over CB once I decide what to do with Lucario.

I'll go look up those EV's now.

245 outspeeds max speed +nature TTar as well as common Gliscor trying to outspeed that at 244 :)
