“You take the knowledge that your life will one day end and realize how that makes every moment infinitely more valuable. You instead choose to cry at the beauty of the world around you. You marvel in the simple wonders of life. You spend your finite time doing the most valuable thing of all, posting on Smogoff” -Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Ironically, the fear of death becomes less and less as people come closer to it. People 70+ often have no fear of death at all and just live day in day out, even the ones that are fit and enjoy life a lot

A lot of people nowadays are afraid that there is nothing after death, but that could never be proven. Some think we are so knowledgeable about the world and its dead coldness, but we substituted belief in things that cannot be proven with belief in only things that can be proven as we are now. There are things that can't be proven with math and everyone who says that there is no free will or afterlife because of scientific principals fails to consider that previous scientists originally only had a belief concepts such as the atom which they often deemed unprovable, but our methods improved and we found a world that was entirely unknown before, only speculated. Maybe in 50, 500, 5000 years, we will see such a thing as a soul with our own eyes. Or we won't. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Honestly, contact with death makes it less scary. We have our closed caskets and funeral services and hospices. When you stand by a loved one as they pass, clean their earthly remains and bury them with your remaining loved ones, a part of your fear just passes alongside them
