As a quick note, I remembered after game start that Smogon and Serenes Forest (my mafia homesite) have two different definitions for the role "Martyr". To avoid being unintentionally misleading, I'm going to clarify that I was thinking of the Serenes Forest version of the role.
The Serenes Forest definition of a (standard) Martyr would be a role that redirects all actions targeting the user to themselves.
Example scenario:
A Martyrs C
B targets C
Result: B's action is redirected to A.
I think Smogon called this role "Reverse Martyr" instead sometimes.
