Pokemon TCG Thread

Since there is a YGO TCG thread there might as well be a Pokemon one too.

Talk about anything Pokemon TCG related in here. Talk about what strats and decks you use (or use to play). Talk about where/how often you attend leagues/tourneys and whether you will be attending any major events in the near future.

I go to league mostly every Sunday with my buddy at Game Kastle in Santa Clara, California. There's quite a few people who show up, normally its 30+, that makes the whole experience fun. We just recently started going about 2 months ago, and it's pretty fun. I won the Great Encounters pre-release, which was cool considering how new to the scene I am.

My buddy runs a Magmortar deck and Im currently running a Gardevoir deck. Our decks sort of suck right now since we don't have any of the corresponding Lv.X's yet, nor many good supporters. My Gardevoirs are mostly the Power Keepers version right now.. which is kind of annoying, but they work well enough. I'm currently on the lookout for:

Gardevoir Lv.X
Gardevoir (Secret Wonders)
Kirlia (Secret Wonders)
Copycat and any other good supporters
Scramble and Double Rainbow Energies
Gallade would be nice too, but not necessary

Right now Im using the Porygon line as a secondary evolution line in my deck. Does anyone know of any better pokemon that can support the Gardevoir line?

Theres a regionals on the 12th of April coming up, and I'd like to go with a fully functional deck. Maybe I'll see some of you there? :]

As far as I know, you can go to any normal league and use old cards for friendly matches, but tourney-wise I think unless it's specified unlimited (most tourneys are modified) then you can't use them.

Sucks right? I still have my old Rain Dance deck from the old days..

Its unfair, I gave all of my cards to a kid down the street that I threw against a house, I felt bad. But I kept some.

I have:

The uncommon-rare eggchansy from gym

A Lt. Surge's Raichu and a Lt. Surge's Pikachu

A Dark Charizard from R-edition, 1st edition.

And a foil Blaine's Charizard first Edition.

Pretty cool, sadly I don't have any of the basic first ever card packs anymore, even though I bought a lot of packs as a kid and had a bunch of cards.

:/ Never really did figure out how to play because around these parts it only got made fun of so.

That's weird, I've heard that same explanation from all over, SJ. Around where I live I never got made fun of for playing back in the day. I guess it's just different in other places.

I sold all of my other old cards on ebay, except for my Rain Dance deck. That holds too many good memories..

Still have a deck with the old cards at home somewhere. Also have all my cards. Wish I had sold them when the first editions from the base set were actually worth something. Still have a hell of a lot of first editions. Charizard, Zapdos, and Nidoking come to mind. It's too bad really :(
