What's you opinion of him? If a popularity contest came up what Pokemon would you vote over him. I'm asking this because GameFAQs is having their traditional contest and some people think he's popular because Pokemon RBY is popular on the site while others call him an avatar that the player has no attachment to.

He can actually be pretty cool in Pokemon Special sometimes, but the controllable character is, to me, just a virtual avatar used by the player.
Well this is normally the character battle right. So it's SUPPOSED to be about who's most powerful. In which case, with Mewtwo Red ought to stand a good chance. Of course the first gen games don't give a direct reference for the strength of Pokemon, since they only ever fight other Pokemon. But the third and fourth generations give a strong indication of the power of some of the other Ubers, and Mewtwo's on a par with them, so Red ought to do well.
