My most memorable memory of last summer was hanging out with my friends at the beach. We were trying to enjoy the sand and sun, but there was one rude problem. We mostly met each other from school, with the exception of the shrewd "Ershe" who owns a sandal factory. Earlier that summer we had found a baby kangaroo egg and we had all sorts of crazy adventures with it, including almost drowning and developing a phobia of water. We ended up having to move a fair distance away from the water, so our group was looking conspicuous as hell just standing around away from everything. We tried shoving it in a backpack so it could calm down. It was awkward and got worse when the lifeguard approached us, since kangaroos are illegal in our city due to rudeness/noise complaints, and ours was especially anxious since he could still hear the sounds of the water. Fortunately, Ershe saw some litter and thought up an excuse, but the joey chose that moment to utter a cry.
"It's fine, we just saw some shattered glass and-shh, Roo!"
