Defensive Porygon is an effective blanket check to the all-out barrage of the offensive LC metagame. Its solid mixed bulk lets it switch into metagame threats like Koffing and Natu while punishing Mienfoo and other offensive switch-ins with its decent Special Attack and Thunder Wave. Trace gives it another useful niche in copying Diglett and Trapinch's Arena Trap and trapping them in return, as well as entirely walling Flash Fire Ponyta. Ice Beam hits Ground- and Grass-types harder, notably OHKOing non-Eviolite Diglett and chipping down Ferroseed, while Thunder Wave cripples faster threats like Mienfoo and Abra, making Poyrgon hard to switch into. Because of Porygon's weakness to Fighting-types, it's often placed alongside Poison-types like Mareanie and Koffing. Mienfoo can switch into Knock Off, which cripples Porygon, and threaten Steel-types like Ferroseed and Pawniard that wall it. Porygon reverse trapping Diglett and Trapinch can enable an Abra or Ponyta teammate.

Defensive Porygon is an effective soft check to the all-out barrage of the offensive LC metagame. Its solid mixed bulk in conjunction with its decent Special Attack and Thunder Wave lets it 1v1 most offensive threats in the metagame while punishing Mienfoo and other attackers for switching in. (List some threats Pory can switch into; Koffing and Natu are good examples) Trace also gives it another useful niche in being able to switch into Diglett and Trapinch (weird choice of words here since Arena Trap usually prevents pory from switching in; maybe just say it counter traps diglett/trapinch), copy their Arena Trap, and trap them in return. It also entirely walls Flash Fire Ponyta. Ice Beam hits Ground- and Grass-types harder, notably OHKOing non-Eviolite Diglett, (mention that it's Pory's best option against Ferroseed) while Thunder Wave is useful in crippling faster threats like Mienfoo and Abra, making it hard to switch into defensively. Because of Porygon's weakness to Fighting-types, it's often placed alongside Poison-types like Mareanie and Koffing. Mienfoo can switch into Knock Off, which would otherwise cripple Porygon, and threaten Steel-types like Ferroseed and Pawniard that wall Porygon. Reverse trapping Diglett and Trapinch can help enable an Abra or Ponyta teammate.

Defensive Porygon is an effective soft blanket (in this context, i assume?) check to the all-out barrage of the offensive LC metagame. Its solid mixed bulk in conjunction with its decent Special Attack and Thunder Wave lets it switch into metagame threats like Koffing and Natu while punishing Mienfoo and other attackers for switching in offensive switch-ins with its decent Special Attack and Thunder Wave. ("offensive" optional) Trace also gives it another useful niche in being able to copy copying Diglett and Trapinch's Arena Trap and trapping them in return, as well as entirely walling Flash Fire Ponyta. Ice Beam hits Ground- and Grass-types harder, notably OHKOing non-Eviolite Diglett and helping to chip chipping down Ferroseed, while Thunder Wave is useful in crippling cripples faster threats like Mienfoo and Abra, making it Poyrgon hard to switch into defensively. Because of Porygon's weakness to Fighting-types, it's often placed alongside Poison-types like Mareanie and Koffing. Mienfoo can switch into Knock Off, which would otherwise cripple cripples Porygon, and threaten Steel-types like Ferroseed and Pawniard that wall Porygon. it. Porygon reverse trapping Diglett and Trapinch can help enable an Abra or Ponyta teammate.
