Power Items Not Passing Down Desired IVs

Hello! So, I am new to IV breeding, but I know basic mechanics of breeding. I have only bred one 5 IV Pokemon so far, and that is a Scyther. The next Pokemon that I want to IV breed is an Adamant Pinsir with Moxie or Mold Breaker. I currently have a female Pinsir with Moxie that has 31 IVs in Attack and Speed. I am breeding it with the 31/31/31/X/31/31 Scyther. I put them both in the daycare with the Pinsir holding the Destiny Knot and the Scyther holding a Power Band for the passing down of the 31 IV in Sp.Def. The offspring they produce never have 31 IVs in Sp.Def, but in Attack and or Speed from the mother. I am almost on the 10th batch of eggs and am getting a bit frustrated. Any solutions or things I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

You made the mistake of giving one parent a destiny knot and the other a power item - If what you are saying is true and the IV isn't getting passed down - then the problem must be that they are interfering with each other. I.E. only one effect is taking place.
I've heard that they are both supposed to work at the same time, but that must be true if what you are saying is true.
Much like putting two power items on either parent - both IVs are not guaranteed to be passed down anymore, but only one of them is guaranteed to be.

DarkGenisis made a video on YouTube about breeding and he has been successful with the same method that I am using, with the Power Item and Destiny Knot. I did use a Power Item when I bred two Scyther together to finally breed a perfect one. I'm not sure if you or he is correct or if I'm doing something completely wrong. Thank you for the help!

The female Destiny Knot overwrites the male Power Band when passing down stats; anyway this is not the correct section to post this >.<

Much misinformation in this thread.

Power items and Destiny Knot stack their effects.

Check your parent IVs.
