A Hack of pokemon fire red rom (both the Japanese version and english versions) hack this hack replaces the pokemon with cute girls from the touhou series in a similar vein to the Moemon hack awhile back.

Originally japanese recently there is a english version out now.

This is a bit more than just a sprite replacement hack all of the touhoumon have vastly diffrent stats so this is more than just sprite replacement one of the updated versions of the japanese ones even puts in the DP splitting of special and physcial attacks in

Touhoumon, the game where you command and control adorable young girls to do battle with one another....slavery much? So they finally made a reliable English patch of the game, it's about freaking times. I've been looking for a English verison of this game for about a good time now. The whole mixing element from both Touhou and Pokemon series seem like a good thing to me. Now I can finally show people that Hong Meling is not a joke character :P

The only things that bugs me about the hack is some of the characters crazy base stat and the fact it deletes your game after you beat the Elite 4.
 
So they finally made an english patch for this?

Oddly enough, I feel the sudden urge to get into Pokemon again. I blame ZUN.

Really? I thought that was only if later versions were patched onto it.

That could be the case as well since I can't remember 100% of what was said about. It probably came from an older Touhoumon thread. The link provided by AJC mention a section where if you didn't configure your emulator right you won't have the ability to save after beating the E4.
 
Is this meant to look like "too human" in English, or is that an ironic oddity of the language?
 
Balance issues are rampant in this game. I won't point them all out, but the biggest example has to be the original Flandre Scarlet, who had Pure Power and a monstrous 160 Base Attack. She's now down to 130 Attack/120 Special Attack and Hustle, but she's still insane powerful, especially with strong Dark/Fire STAB.

IIRC, Hustle only affects Atk. So basically, her two STABs don't even run off her best stat, and all her moves are at 80% accuracy.

Flandre is also incredibly fragile, and not that fast. She'd be awesome in DP mechanics with physical STABS but right now, Flandre is probably mediocre right now.

I can't really think of any Touhoumon that is unbalanced in atm - I haven't even begun to consider a potential "competitive Touhoumon metagame" but off the top of my head, I already see Iku being a major special wall (not many strong Ice attackers or special sweepers with Ice attacks, the best special sweepers being largely Fire/Grass/Electric, and Iku has plenty of SDef for neutral hits.)
