A Primal Groudon set with Stealth Rock and Swords Dance compresses the roles of both an entry hazard setter and a wallbreaker. With Swords Dance boosts and Rock Tomb, Primal Groudon can better combat Defog users like Ho-Oh and Mega Salamence that it would otherwise struggle to take down on its own. While very few Pokemon can stand up to Primal Groudon with Swords Dance boosts, Primal Groudon will have difficulties getting much benefit against Giratina-O and Arceus-Ground. Xerneas is a great offensive partner that can pressure Giratina-O and other physically defensive Pokemon with its offensive prowess and prevent defensive teams from stalling out Primal Groudon by providing cleric support. Other offensive partners like Primal Kyogre and Lunala can threaten support Arceus-Ground, which can be problematic for this set. As this Primal Groudon tends to get weakened while wallbreaking and setting Stealth Rock, secondary checks to Xerneas are necessary as well. Steel-types like Necrozma-DM suffices this role and can benefit from Primal Groudon's ability to massively pressure defensive teams and keep Ho-Oh at bay with Stealth Rock.
