Primeape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Gunk Shot

Primeape is one of the best Choice Scarf users in the PU metagame that is able to pivot out against Fighting-type checks such as Mesprit and Jellicent and revenge kill fast threats such as Lycanroc and Dodrio. Its ability, Defiant, allows it to punish Intimidate users like Qwilfish and deter the use of Defog, making Primeape a great teammate for offensive teams seeking adequate role compression. Primeape utilizes U-turn to pivot out on foes that wall it and gain momentum against foes that it forces out, while it can break checks like Oricorio-G and Clefairy with Stone Edge and Gunk Shot. Primeape has a lot of common checks in the metagame such as Jellicent and Weezing, so it's best partnered with Pokemon that can check them such as Aurorus and Lanturn, with the latter being able to form a solid VoltTurn core with Primeape. Unfortunately, Primeape sports poor bulk, has issues with breaking through bulky walls, and has trouble spamming its STAB Close Combat, but it should still be a considerable pick on any offensive team as a threatening revenge killer!

Primeape @ Choice Scarf

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Earthquake (Definitely replace with Stone Edge)
- Gunk Shot

Primeape is one of the best Choice Scarf users in the PU metagame due to its ability to pivot out against Fighting-type checks and revenge kill fast metagame threats such as Lycanroc, Dodrio, and Lilligant(isnt revenge kill what most scarf mons do? definitely still mention this, but the sentence structure makes it seem like rking stuff is one of its niches compared to other scarfers). This combined with its ability to punish and deter the use of Defog, makes Primeape a teammate for offensive teams seeking adequate role compression.(id specify that its cuz of Defiant, in which 100% mention Qwil here too) U-turn allows it to pivot out on foes that wall it such as Mesprit and Jellicent,(you already said that it pivots out of fighting checks, tho u can move these examples over there if u want) and gain momentum on the targets that it forces out, like Kangaskan(Kangaskhan), Aggron, and Skuntank,(this can all be said much shorter with just something like "ape utilizes uturn to gain momentum on switches") while with Earthquake(no more EQ, now edge) and Gunk Shot, it can break checks like Qwilfish (no more eq, no more qwil, stick some flying thing here)and Clefairy. Primeape has a lot of common checks in the metagame such as Mesprit, Weezing, and Oricorio-G(Id go with Jellicent and Weezing as the checks, cuz primeape can wear down the other two, also cuz jelli is such a large mon rn), so it's best partnered with wallbreakers that can take advantage of those foes (take advantage of? I think you mean check or break through or something)such as Aggron, Aurorus, and, Dodrio(I wouldnt want Aggron or Dodrio being my Weezing check), and with defensive Pokemon like Lanturn, which (extremely nitpicky, but insert an 'also' here to specify that it still checks those mons and the voltturn is just an addition)can form a solid VoltTurn core. Unfortunately, Primeape sports poor bulk and has issues with breaking through bulky walls(also finding opportunities to spam CC is like non existent with all the fighting checks) but it should still be a considerable pick on any offensive team when team building('when team building' is just fluff) as a threatening revenge killer!
Kinda above the max character count, but I cant really say anything. A lotta the example mons list 3 examples when there can easily be just 2, which would help with the character count. Otherwise 1/1.
