My friends and I have each decided to make themed teams to battle each other and others with. I've decided to base my team around priority moves. There's quite a bit of variety which I hope means my team won't be complete trash. Well, here it goes:
A Physical Sweeper
Arcanine @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Attack/ 252 Speed/ 6 HP
Nature: Adamant (+Attack, -Sp.Attack)
- Extremespeed
- Thunder Fang
- Crunch
- Flare Blitz
Arcanine is an important physical sweeper on my team. He can hit very hard with Flare Blitz, or, if he's not fast enough, can use Extremespeed to good effect.
Another Physical Sweeper
Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Attack/ 212 HP/ 44 Speed
Nature: Adamant (+Attack, -Sp.Attack)
- Waterfall
- Double-Edge
- Brick Break
- Aqua Jet
Yes, I know I already have another physical sweeper, but I just couldn't pass this one up. Obviously Aqua Jet is his "bread and butter" move, and after getting baton passed a Belly Drum from Smeargle (see below) he will be a force to be reckoned with.
The Special Sweeper
Lucario @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Sp.Attack/ 252 Speed/ 6 HP
Nature: Modest (+Sp.Attack, -Attack)
- Vacuum Wave
- Aura Sphere
- Psychic
- Dragon Pulse
Probably the only viable special sweeper I could pick for a priority move-based team. Psychic covers his fighting weakness, Dragon Pulse covers dragons, Aura Sphere is his powerful stabbed moves, and Vacuum Wave is for dealing finishing blows or to slay Tyranitar.
The Sponge
Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/ 144 Attack/ 112 Sp.Defense
Nature: Careful (+Sp.Defense, -Sp.Attack)
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
More of a special wall than a sponge, really. Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split let it go up against physical sweepers. I can use Taunt and then predict whether my opponent will switch or not and use Sucker Punch or Will-O-Wisp accordingly.
The Physical wall
Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 6 Attack
Nature: Impish (+Defense, -Sp.Attack)
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
Not only a physical wall, he is my swiss army knife of sorts. Able to Rapid Spin away obstacles and set up Stealth Rocks for me. Ice Shard hits Garchomp and Salamence hard though unstabbed.
The Baton Passer
Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Speed/ 6 HP
Nature: Jolly (+Speed, -Sp.Attack)
- Extremespeed
- Baton Pass
- Spore
- Belly Drum
Baton Passing Belly Drum is an extremely useful advantage to Aracnine and Azumarill who can then sweep with Extremespeed and Aqua Jet, respectively. Spore is a no-brainer, and Extremespeed is there so Smeargle can have a stabbed priority.
Well, there it is. Any advice would be helpful, especially for the items with which I am a bit lost. Thanks in advance.
