THE LITTLE CUP MOVESET COLLECTION
This thread is designed to be a resource for battlers in a new and developing metagame, as well as a reference when the time comes for Little Cup analyses to be uploaded onsite. This thread will be a place where you can find competitive, relevant movesets for the current metagame. These sets are extracted from RMTs, IRC and posts in the Little Cup forum. If you would like to add a set, please post it in a PS! importable format in this thread (slashes are allowed, remove them when importing.) Also, post a BRIEF explanation of what the Pokemon does and why the set is viable.

I'll throw in a few I've been using

Gligar @ Berry Juice
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Knock Off

Offensive pivot gligar I call it. Acts like flygon more than the traditional gligar. Could run roost or SR in the last slot if you want but I've had enourmous success with knock off.

Tirtouga @ Berry juice
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 212 Atk / 12 Def / 12 SAtk / 76 SDef / 180 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shell Smash
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Ice Beam

Shell Smash tirtouga obviously. Ran Ice beam to help deal with tangela (still a problem). Needs a positive nature and max speed to outspeed jolly sneasel after a smash. Could go with EQ or aqua jet in the last slot and switch to jolly if preferred.

Dwebble (F) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor

Support dweeble set I've been using. Max attack for hitting stuff, max speed for outspeeding stuff. Bj+Sturdy to get off 3 layers against slower opponents.
36 EVs leftover because you don't want to raise hp from 21 and you want hits to do as much possible to you so that BJ activates. I've been debating trying out 0 def/sdef IVs.

glad to see some of my sets haha.

Meditite @ Eviolite
Ability: Pure Power
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 76 Def / 200 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch

so yeah with the rise of swirlix this set is probably going to become standard meditite. fake out and bullet punch provide great priority and along with 24 attack allow meditite to revenge effectively. fake out + bullet punch also ko's swirlix. ice punch nails grounds, flyings, and specifically gligar. drain punch is obligatory stab and heals meditite.

Gligar @ Berry Juice
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 236 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Defog
- Stealth Rock

this is an interesting set i've been using. basically this gligar can perform the role of sweeper or supporter. acro + eq is pretty much all gligar needs to sweep and gets the job done well with 19 speed and 17 attack. you can also sit back and instead defog and set up rocks, which can be very helpful.

Scraggy @ Eviolite
Ability: Shed Skin
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 SDef / 212 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- High Jump Kick / Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab

so yeah pretty much standard dd scraggy. with the rise of fairy types and knock off, scraggy's moveset basically changes to cover fairies with poison jab and now you have to choose between hjk and drain punch. knock off is is pretty strong in general now and gets rid of berry juice and eviolite. poison jab nails fairies, which are scraggy's biggest enemies.

Mienfoo @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 76 HP / 236 Atk / 36 Def / 156 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch / High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off

offensive mienfoo. ev's and nature max out attack and give mienfoo 15 speed, enough to outpace modest swirlix. drain punch is probably the better stab for this set because it counteracts life orb and 19 attack is pretty damn good, but hjk hits like a truck. mienfoo gains tons of momentum with u-turn and can lure guys like gligar and murkrow and then just u-turn out. poison jab nails fairies like swirlix and snubbull. knock off is great, is damn powerful when the opponent has an item and gives mienfoo great coverage against psychics and ghosts.

Well heres this sneasel set I came up with.
Sneasel @ life orb
Ability: inner focus
EVs: 236 Spd / 236 Atk / 36 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Knock off
- Poison jab
- Ice shard / ice punch
- Brick break
Its meant to be a lure to some of its usual counters, or crippling common switch ins while maintaining offensive presence. Fairy types are taken out through the use of knock off and poison jab, or ice shard and poison jab for swirlix. Knock off overall messes with a lot of mons. Brick break is for steel types bar honedge and lets it beat opposing sneasel when it has to.

Tested a lot of Sneasels, I've decided that it's kind of desperate to rely on Speed ties to check other Sneasels so I ditched Brick Break.

Sneasel @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 236 Spd / 236 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash / Ice Punch (PB)
- Bite / Knock Off (PB)

Fake Out lets you revenge kill things that you otherwise can't. Not to mention that you beat Focus Sash users, break Sturdy, and have generally more utility than a simple coverage move gives.

Tested a lot of Munchlax....

Munchlax @ Eviolite/Berry Juice
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Return
- Rest
- Sleep Talk / Fire Punch

Win condition against a shit load of teams, super bulky, counters Swirlix, Yanma, and Tangela and every other Special attacker.

Tested a lot of Tangela.....

Tangela @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 80 Def / 200 SpA / 196 SpD
Modest Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Fire
- Ancient Power

Incredibly bulky. Takes any physical hit including Ice Punch and deals lots of damage back with Giga Drain. Regenerator + Giga Drain + 115 Base Def makes Tangela very hard to take down and its base 100 SpA makes it dangerous to keep alive.

Tested a lot of other things, will post more later.

I've also used that pivot Gligar but with Stealth Rock over Knock Off.

Tentacool @ Eviolite
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 196 HP / 76 Def / 4 SAtk / 196 SDef / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Knock Off
- Scald

With is good SDef, a good ability against Drain Punch (Liquid Ooze), a strengthen and always useful Knock Off, that's a bulky spinner support pokemon in LC. Scald is a good STAB move; you can prefer Surf if you want more power.

Dwebble @ Berry Juice
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor

Shell Smash Dwebble is quite dangerous. SS compounded with Sturdy and Adamant nature (and a extra health with Berry Juice) could be crucial where it used. In fact with Sturdy it can take a turn to set up, then with a + 50% damage, Berry Juice bringing it back to 100% HP (so boosted and healty too). Rock Blast, EQ and X-Scissor guarantee a good coverage.

Lonely Nature
- Acrobatics

edit-ahh fuck this is illegal :/

This is probs its best set, after discussing this over #littlecup i put overheat on it on my team. Flying Gem Acrobatics hits like a truck, and Swords Dance helps it boost it. However, premier threats it would set up on, such as fire-types, commonly carry wild charge which ohkoes it :/ prio tailwind helps bulkier, slower attackers be threats and gets priority, and is a great last ditch move.

Pawniard @ Berry Juice
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 196 Spd / 76 HP
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Iron Head

this set might need a little tweaking, but i will test it out and see what changes to make. the ev spread is self-explanatory, giving it 16 Speed to tie w/ chnchou, outspeed defensive foo etc. unfortunately this thing is 4x brick break weak so can't counter/check sneasel :/ could check carvanha well though

Also, can someone please tell me about the viability of knock off on SD pawn? seems like a cool option. also dracoyoshi, is this post-pokebank?

EDIT- OK i'm taking magnemite scarf will post asap

Good SR and sandstorm weather setter (upon entering on field, its slowness ensures this). With 'mons with Sand Rash (Drilbur and Sandshrew) could be a good strategy.

P.S.: About Froakie, we can invest some of remaining Evs in Def (reaching 12). So:
EVs: 116 Def / 184 SAtk / 4 SDef / 188 Spd

I'm gonna protest a little. This project, as it works now, encourages new players to just copy and paste the sets listed here into their teams. This means less creativity. I think it would be a whole lot better if it was allowed to slash certain items or moves (idk if it is, i assume not since they won't be directly importable). This is, in my opinion, the better way to go because in most cases the ideal set of a mon depends on the rest of the team.

gonna stick without slashes for now cuz it's the rules

Slashes are allowed.

What I meant by PS! importable is the formatting, like having Ability:, Level: 5, etc. Players should understand that you have to remove the slash (eg. Fletchling has 3 items slashed, remove the two you don't want) in order for it to import correctly. It just makes things easier.

And I would rather new players use sets that have been tried and tested and then build upon the knowledge they gain than come in blind and try using something like Protect / Last Resort Eevee (please stop using this people)

edit: i added that slashes are allowed to the op, hopefully that will clear it up

Darmanitan's Flare Blitz is stronger, espescially with CB

Koffing @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate

Bold Nature
- Rest

- Will-O-Wisp

for wanted list. Counters Tangela, Swirlix, Gligar, any fighting type. Deals with Yanma, Sneasel, and other random Pokemon as well. Really useful.

I used a rest talk chinchou for a while, was decent but I think its other sets are better for it.

Chinchou @ Eviolite

EVs: 76 HP / 132 Def / 228 SDef / 60 Spe
Bold Nature

Pretty much the same as last gen.

Suprised nobodies posted a vulpix yet. I havent done a whole lot of testing yet but I've tried out 2

Vulpix @ Eviolite
Ability: Drought
Level: 5
EVs: 52 HP / 116 Def / 36 SAtk / 176 SDef / 76 Spe
Calm Nature
- Energy Ball

- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Vulpix @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Level: 5
EVs: 52 HP / 196 SAtk / 236 Spe
Tiid Nature
- Energy Ball
- Fire Blast / Overheat
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp / Hidden Power Ground / Hypnosis

2 sets, with 2 different uses. First one is built on surviving to provide continuous drought. As for the other, while heat rock is quite useful, vulpix is just not bulky enough without eviolite, so I figure an offensive approach would be better (it reaches a decent 17 speed). Last slot is filler really, Status if you want, HP ground is the only way to deal with houndour. Could also throw something like flamethrower in that last slot as well.

I think LO Tite and Evio Tite should have separate sets. Also, LO shouldn't have any EVs in HP so it has 19.

Agreeing with Chieliee that most sets should have some more slashes going on, here's some general things I'd edit to the sets in the thread feel free to overrule me ofc:
-slash Poison Jab with Ice Punch on Scraggy... pretty sure knock off should be mandatory
-Defog on the first Gligar set with Stealth Rock and Knock Off
-Stealth Rock with Defog on Archen
-HP Grass and Ice Beam on Chinchou with HP Fire
-Stealth Rock with EQ on the Shell Smash Dwebble set (Rocks+SS is very viable with double sturdy)
-HP Grass on Mixkrow
-Pursuit Pawniard
-On the 3rd Sneasel set I'd personally put Ice Shard and Ice Punch and then Slash BB and PJ as optional coverage moves - I know midas said it was meant to be a lure but this thread is for more standard shit imo
-slash psychic on swirlix, with surf or flamethrower or something, hits tentacool and skrelp and other poisons

another edit:

You put oddish sun sweeper in your wanted list, but I generally think most other chlorophyl users are better (tangela generally beats all of course). Heres 2

Bellsprout @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 116 SpA / 116 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Power Whip
- Sleep Powder
- Weather Ball
- Sludge Bomb / Growth

Deerling @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 SDef / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Return
- Jump Kick
- Sunny Day / Baton Pass / Synthesis

Well I'll still throw out oddish's only real set anyways (since i could be wrong, not like I've actually tested him)

Oddish @ Eviolite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Level: 5
EVs: 236 SAtk / 76 SDef / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain / Solar Beam
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Moonlight

Bout all it has. Bit bulkier than the rest but is extremely predictable. Bellsprout and deerling at least have a niche to call their own, but oddish is just a bad tangela sadly.

I believe knock off should be a slash on HP fire's spot on the eviolite set. It allows tangela to cripple its counters like fire types, so ancient power can finish them off later, or help a mon sweep who also has issues with fire types of any of tangela's checks

I'll refrain from adding a set for now but I did want to note a few things:

Slash Aqua Jet in front of Waterfall on Tirtouga. Then slash Hydro Pump after Ice Beam. AJet is better than waterfall because Stone Edge is solid STAB anyway and priority gives Tirt a solid way to keep itself from being revenge killed after knocked down to sturdy.
Tirtouga also needs a lot more speed / SpA. A spread of 180 Spd / 212 Atk / 92 SAtk is better, in my opinion- a few extra points in bulk is nothing compared to a more powerful Ice Beam.

I would also combine the latter two Gligar sets into something that looks like this:

Gligar @ Flying Gem
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Spd / 236 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance / Baton Pass
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Defog / Stealth Rock

First off, Gligar really needs to go either full defense or full offense. Trying to mix and match the two may seem good on paper but it really isn't; if you're running sweeping attacks and an offensive spread than you should use Swords Dance and ditch a support move, because that best utilizes Gligar. You can't focus on support and offense at once because then Gligar has too much on its hands and really won't be able to dent your opponent or wall them at all. Also, Defog + Stealth Rock on the same set is kind of dumb; run Defog if you don't have a spinner and then just put Stealth Rock somewhere else, I mean what's the point of SR if you're just going to remove it with Defog later anyway... Swords Dance + one of them is much better than no SD + both. Also, you can use Berry Juice, but I strongly recommend Flying Gem instead, because you shouldn't really ever be taking more than one hit- and nobody is ever going to waste time hitting you for more than 50% but less than 100%. If you face Gligar then you gotta OHKO it ASAP or you'll lose. Still, use Berry Juice if it floats your boat.

Also Tangela's bulky set has a spread of 80 SpD / 200 SpA / 196 SpD. I think the first one should be Def or HP, not too sure but it's one of them.
I'm a little iffy on Leaf Storm on defensive Tangela but since most people on irc liked it I'll just bring it up for some more opinions here.

Also why is it Flamethrower / SD Torchic? Unless Flamethrower hits something special, I strongly suggest you use Flare Blitz and a physically attacking spread over it. At least take advantage of the boosts if you can. Also slash Substitute after Protect, because passing Subs is fun too.
