On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, one shiny Tatsugiri
Art by me OP adapted from PTF
Welcome to this year's annual Secret Santa! It's the best part of any pokemon related holiday, free teams! In the spirit of the holidays there is nothing like getting gifts and giving them with your own unique flair!

As most of you probably know, Secret Santa is an event in which the members of a community anonymously exchange gifts between themselves. In this particular Secret Santa, which, deep down, will work similarly to a teambuilding workshop, each person who signs up will PM me with a Pokemon or a core they'd like someone else to build a team with. Afterwards, everyone who joined the project will receive one of the aforementioned ideas and will have to build a team with it until the submission deadline. Finally, the teams will be sent to the people who requested them and this thread will be used for further discussion. Easy, isn't it? Let's get to the rules then!

General Rules:
  • Post "in" or whatever else you want to (as long as the intent is clear) to join.
  • Don't sign up if you can't guarantee that you'll be able to finish building a team in time.
  • Avoid telling people what request you sent/got, as it could ruin the project's purpose.
Submission Rules:
  • Each request submission should be sent to me through Smogon PM. You don't need to do it right after signing up, but if you fail to do it until the deadline then your sign up will be void.
  • Requests will be looked at on a case by case basis. If you want to use niche/unranked pokemon go ahead!
  • Cores are usually preferred over individual Pokemon unless one of the Pokemon is known to be hard to build around or straight up uncommon.
  • If you want your requested Pokemon or core to have specific sets, you're allowed to mention it.
  • After sign ups close, I'll use the same PM each user sent with their request in order to let them know the Pokemon or core that was assigned to them.
  • Once you're done building, post the team you made on the thread and share the gift!
Recommendations:
  • Don't be afraid to join just because you feel like your teambuilding skills aren't on par, it's a great opportunity to work on them and anyone would be happy with getting a team for free.
  • You're allowed to change requests until the sign up deadline, but avoid doing it if possible, as it could lead me into making big mistakes.
  • Have fun!

Deadline for sign ups is December 14th 11:59 PM GMT -6 (Please also have the core or pokemon submitted by this time also)

Deadline for building is December 31st, 11:59 PM GMT -6

I dont really know how to do this, but these are 2 teams for Meri Berry (I apologise in advance since im not amazing at building)

https://pokepast.es/3b9822a8ef7c10f0

Here is team 1 with the requested “Fast and Offensive Wo Chien with power whip”

Ive built this team with Wo Chien having choice scarf as its pretty slow otherwise, and specifically trained it to outspeed salazzle at +1, (you’d probably switch on salazzle anyways) which is the only mainly relevant meta threat that reaches that speed tier. Ive just designed this set to be power whip spam, and you can click the other moves if need be.

I’ve used dudun as the rocks setter, due to being an overall good mon and can also setup-sweep. Ive chosen the speed EVs the exact same way as i have wo-chien:, it outspeeds salazzle after paralysis.

Tatsugiri can also potentially setup-sweep with draco meteor/nasty plot, but is mainly there as a spinner.

The remaining 3 mons are just there to do their job on a team like this, nothing out of the ordinary, nothing special. Theyre just consistent mons that are just filling their normal roles.

This second team is from the request where the request was “A terrain team but not grassy terrain”

https://pokepast.es/247f44332fe4de81

Indeedee-F is the terrain setter on this team, as it is the sole psychic surge mon, whilst also providing decent utility with healing wish.

Alcremie is just doing alcremie things, as your classic terrain abuser + setup sweeper.

Drifblim is also there to abuse terrain, but for a different reason, to get the unburden boost. Ive chosen physical drifblim here due the change in stat points between physical and special attack being quite minimal. It also gets the boost on acrobatics from having no item. I think this mon is a potent unburden sweeper in terrain, acting as a mini :hawlucha:

Decidueye-Hisui is thereas a choice scarf sweeper as usual, whilst also defogging.

Naclstack is there as a bulky rocks setter, with recovery as the insane move of salt cure.

Persian-Alola is there as a speedy knock user, and can also pivot quickly with parting shot, and can stop hazards going up + mons setting up with taunt.

Alr, those are my 2 teams! Use them as much as you want everyone! (If you want to) and all have a merry Christmas, happy holidays and a happy new year! Bye guys! <3

Merry Christmas Partridge Used,

My Secret Santa was for asa who requested a team with DD kingdra!

I really wasn’t sure where to go with this ‘mon, as I have only seen sub DD used before, and I was thinking that’s a bit hard to make work, at least how I’d want it to. Kingdra is fairly bulky for an offensive mon, but need a LOT of defensive investment to say, tank a bellibolt volt switch and keep its sub. You need some cheese tera like electric to really get that free sub and dd. Sub is still very useful for dodging status and sucker punch though, so I didn’t want to rule it out entirely. One other thing kingdra struggles with is contact punishing from Gastro Rocky helmet and bellibolt static.

However, when I saw that Kingdra gets Scale Shot, that made me super excited. I love running scale shot Flygon in RU for its ability to dodge contact punishers and to keep up the tempo on a kill vs offensive teams, forcing out their priority user or scarf and letting me switch to something that beats it. So, I decided on loaded dice scale shot to avoid contact, give me a strong spammable stab which kingdra really needs to break, and limit the revenge killers that can beat it. It also synergizes pretty well with sniper as you have multiple chances to crit and increase your damage output, squeezing out just a bit more damage.
The team:
:kingdra: / :bellibolt: / :bombirdier: / :golurk: / :florges: / :salazzle:

:pmd/kingdra:
Kingdra @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Sniper
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall / Wave Crash
- Scale Shot
- Iron Head / Substitute
DD / Scale Shot are the centerpieces here, with your choice of water stab, I personally like waterfall because I’m very lucky. Iron Head gives you a nice way to punish random tera fairy mons and hit florges, and if you tera you can use a 30% flinch move instead of 20 :). Sub is also great for reasons already stated and easing prediction.

:pmd/bellibolt:
Bellibolt @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Volt Switch
- Muddy Water
Standard belli to pivot and check a bunch of physical threats in 1 slot, great at enabling other mons on the team

:pmd/bombirdier:
Bombirdier @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Big Pecks
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Roost
- Sucker Punch
- Parting Shot
I needed something with knock off and the ability to stop meloetta from clicking psychic and ghost moves, originally had a pivot Grimmsnarl here but also wanted a ground immune and bird can heal. The set is kind of ass but necessary. If melo clicks hvoice you can threaten with sucker or a switch and roost.

:pmd/Florges:
Florges (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flower Veil
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Synthesis
- Trick
- Calm Mind
Standard scarf for speed control and setup disruption that kingdra can chip things like av copper for nicely.

:pmd/golurk:
Golurk @ Colbur Berry
Ability: No Guard
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Poltergeist
- Dynamic Punch
Colbur rocks lurk to keep up the tempo and be immune to most of toxt’s moves and the one that bird can’t handle from meloetta. Our next mon will help vs scarf decidueye so it’s a decent fight resist as well. Speed to jump adamant Rhydon because it’s a giant ass problem

:pmd/salazzle:
Salazzle @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Corrosion
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic
- Encore
We love a fast boots mon that makes progress vs everything, and fast encore is necessary. It’s also a fairy resist (cope) for florg that can lock it into not psychic move if it’s setup. Can toxic cm florg as well. Tera flying is because this team is terrified of rhydon and frosmoth so locking them into the ground move can help win vs them. I tried Delphox here as well but while it’s stronger I value the speed vs decidueye and the sneasels as florg is not always able to keep its scarf.

This team definitely has its weaknesses, but I was able to use it to get reqs for about as much as that’s worth and get pretty high on ladder. Here are some replays I collected that show some strengths and weaknesses

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9pu-2267669747-bbcj4r4r33aa8rrnv9dg1475lzcbqdypw
Vs bulky offense with no ground type but otherwise pretty high on the ladder

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9pu-2266704692-jomjiwch3kmw2s311bnjsjqe6y3no02pw
Vs HO

And here’s an additional try at the team with a different defensive setup that alleviates some of the issues that might inspire someone else
Ddscale kingdra DonWorm

Merry X-mas Felilou, ruler of Glaceon Kingdom. Here is the best army featuring Glaceon that I could conjure for the defense of your throne!

SubCM Glaceon Balance:
:sv/bellibolt: :sv/altaria: :sv/uxie: :sv/arcanine: :sv/decidueye-hisui:

I tried some... questionable... teams at first with webs and TR that were absolutely terrible, but the one with a normal glaceon doing normal glaceon things ended up working the best. This balance team plays on getting in Glaceon or Arcanine, with Bellibolt, Uxie, and Decid being the pivots to get them in. Early game is a lot of positioning with Beli, Uxie mostly, and Altaria to start chipping through the opponent's checks to Glaceon and Arcanine.

The Altaria set is supposed to check special fire types like Delphox, Salazzle, and the Typhlosion I ran into, between resisting and having EQ. Keeping hazards off with Altaria is more important than keeping them up. Uxie is actually a pretty good physical wall, since the only Pauros I ran into didn't have throat chop. Glaceon also put in work, being just fast enough to set up on and outspeed bulky mons and bulky enough that a good Tera can pick up a KO or 2. Went with these EVs to maximize Glaceon's HP and Spe to get more done. Missing out on things like a KO on Golurk without being +1 is kinda bad, but the general utility of max hp max spe vibed better to me and I can't not run freeze-dry and TB ground. Arcanine and Decid-H are the speed control and cleaners, while Arcanine also doubles as a wincon. Belli is the most replaceable mon on the team who missed 2 twaves and doesn't help v golurk who kinda farms this team, but the one battle where it destroyed a heattom for me is good enough to keep it. As you can probably guess, Heattom and Golurk are bad vs this team, but glace can just freeze them /j sry to that one person's heattom.

Edit: replay justifying altaria | golurk + heattom mu being not insta-lose
and i fixed the link
