Reserving Silvally Dragon

7784-Shiny-Silvally-Dragon.png
Silvally-Dragon @ Dragon Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Flamethrower
- Defog
- Parting Shot

Silvally-Dragon is a good check to Assault Vest Eelektross.
Dragonvally can switch into any attack of Eelektross and even a Knock Off doesn't hurt it as the RKS-Item is attached to it like a Mega-Stone is attached to its rightful holder.
All Attacks Eelektross can go for aren't super effective and can't bypass Dragonvally at all. However Silvally-Dragon has to be careful about Acid Spray as this move is able to lower it's special defense by two stages.
But when Eelektross doesn't run Acid Spray then Silvally can just wall it and even then Silvally-Dragon can just Parting-Shot out from this and gains Momentum as well.
Multi-Attack from Silvally has a 9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rocks damage, and doesn't drop unlike Draco Meteor, this set works well against Eelektross to handle this Eel better.

Calcs:
252 Atk Silvally-Dragon Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 144-169 (38.5 - 45.1%) -- 9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dragon: 56-66 (16.9 - 19.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Eelektross Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dragon: 40-48 (12 - 14.5%) -- possible 7HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Eelektross Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dragon: 48-57 (14.5 - 17.2%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock
0- Atk Eelektross Knock Off vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Silvally-Dragon: 50-59 (15.1 - 17.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Eelektross Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dragon: 72-85 (21.7 - 25.6%) -- 100% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Eelektross Acid Spray vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dragon: 44-52 (13.2 - 15.7%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock

CB Aggron's Headsmash always kills,

so I'd want to consider it a check of sorts assuming you're having a good day and your headsmashes connect

Aurorus @ Choice Specs
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Rock]

sorry for the wait college has commenced again so rip my time. Anyways, Specs Aurorus is a check. Eelektross cannot switch in and gets 2hko by Blizzard and Giga Drain has a poor 2.3% chance of 2hko you back so you always win most of the time because you deal more damage than it's healing.

Audino @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Knock Off

Submitting Audino as a counter to Eelektross, due to it's immense special bulk and, by extension, ability to survive a -6 SpDef Volt Switch before Wishing, Protecting and switching out to restore over 80% of it's health back thanks to Regenerator. It defeats Eel by using Toxic and alternating between Protect, Knock Off and Wish to stay alive with ease. Audino is only remotely threatened by Acid Spray, but as previously mentioned survives the worst case scenario thanks to Leftovers and Wish shenanigans, and if Eel even gets to this position it dies to Toxic within a turn or two. While it can hold it's own, Audino also has the additional benefit of providing it's team with Wish support, should it want to switch out and let a teammate set up or take the final blow.

Kangaskhan @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch

Kangaskhan makes a nice check to Eelektross, as it easily 2HKOes it with Double-Edge (even without Silk Scarf) and is not 2HKOed by any of the eel's attacks. Just a check as Acid Spray into Volt Switch will 2HKO factoring Double-Edge recoil.

252+ SpA Eelektross Acid Spray vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan: 50-59 (14.2 - 16.8%) -- possible 6HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan: 130-154 (37 - 43.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. -2 0 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan: 261-307 (74.3 - 87.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Silk Scarf Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 250-295 (66.8 - 78.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 210-247 (56.1 - 66%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Muk @ Choice Band
Ability: Sticky Hold / Poison Touch
EVs: 220 HP / 252 Atk / 36 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Shadow Sneak
- Thunder Punch / Fire Punch
- Ice Punch / Explosion

Muk is a niche but fairly decent counter to Eelektross. Its naturally high special bulk makes it so Muk is only 3HKO'd by any of Eelektross' attacks while switching in, and Muk's EVs allow it to outpace Eelektross before it can pivot out. Gunk Shot will always OHKO after rocks, and with Eelektross' status as a slow pivot, it's likely to already have some chip on it. Sticky Hold makes it so Muk can come in on Knock Off without fear, while Poison Touch gives an extra roll for poisoning to increase the chance of an OHKO.

Relevant Calcs:
- 252+ Atk Choice Band Muk Gunk Shot vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 334-394 (89.3 - 105.3%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
- 252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 220 HP / 0 SpD Muk: 109-129 (26.8 - 31.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
- 252+ SpA Eelektross Thunderbolt vs. 220 HP / 0 SpD Muk: 139-165 (34.2 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Hitmonchan @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Atk / 92 SpDef / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Rapid Spin

LO Hitmonchan is a counter to this specific Eelektross. The EV spread always 2HKOs Eelektross with Drain Punch even w/ its Life Orb knocked off and maximizes its damage while minimizing Eelektross' TBolt damage (guaranteed 3HKO, not considering recovery). It can switch in on any of Eelektross' attacks and hit back harder or force it out since it naturally out-speeds it too.

252+ Atk Life Orb Iron Fist Hitmonchan Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eelektross: 218-257 (58.2 - 68.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (37.8 - 44.6% recovered)

252+ SpA Eelektross Volt Switch vs. 188 HP / 92 SpD Hitmonchan: 93-109 (32.2 - 37.8%) -- 93.6% chance to 3HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Thunderbolt vs. 188 HP / 92 SpD Hitmonchan: 118-139 (40.9 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Giga Drain vs. 188 HP / 92 SpD Hitmonchan: 66-78 (22.9 - 27%) -- 45.8% chance to 4HKO
252+ SpA Eelektross Flamethrower vs. 188 HP / 92 SpD Hitmonchan: 79-93 (27.4 - 32.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Altaria @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
- Defog
- Roost

Altaria is a counter to Assault Vest Eelektross, as it has the natural special bulk and lack of weaknesses to any common coverage moves to absorb hits and outlast it with Toxic. Even when considering Acid Spray, Altaria still resists all of Eelektross’s other attacks when using Roost, as Altaria is faster.

Silvally-Fairy @ Fairy Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 48 HP / 208 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Thunderbolt
- Parting Shot
- Defog

Fairyvally is a hardcheck to Gurdurr as none of Gurdurrs Attacks are super-effective on Silvally-Fairy because Drain Punch and Mach Punch won't do anything to Fairyvally.
Gurdurr cannot Knock Off its RKS System as well. Multi-Attack is a guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rocks and even after a +1 which Gurdurr gains in Attack and Defense
due to Bulk Up Silvally-Fairy can still act as a nice counterplay as Gurdurr still won't do anything to it but Multi-Attack is still a guaranteed 4HKO on the fightingy mon in Gurdurr.
Also even after a +1 Gurdurr doesn't gain enuff recovery back with D-Punch to be able to withstand Silvallys actions.
However Silvally-Fairy has to be wary about Toxic variants as Silvally-Fairy has no reliable recovery options, but in overall Fairyvally is a good hardcheck to Gurdurr.

Oricorio-Pom-Pom @ Flyinium Z
Timid Nature
Ability: Dancer
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
- Calm Mind
- Roost
- Hurricane
- Revelation Dance

Oricorio-Pom-Pom is a counter to Gurdurr. Supersonic Skystrike is always a OHKO given Gurdurr's piss-poor SpDef stat even with eviolite. Additionally Gurdurr cannot knock off its Flyinium so Knock Off does minimal damage.

In situations where Gurdurr runs Bulk-Up instead of Toxic, Oricorio uses it as Set-Up fodder due to its access to Roost and the fact that even at +1, Drain Punch is still a 4HKO.

0 SpA Dancer Oricorio-Pom-Pom Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 452-534 (120.8 - 142.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Freeze-Dry
- Roost

Articuno as a Counter. None of Gurdurr's moves are a guaranteed 3HKO, while Supersonic Skystrike always OHKOes Gurdurr. Normal Hurricane can OHKO Gurdurr some of the time as well, and it risks confusion. It can also Roost off whatever damage Gurdurr is able to inflict once it's been KOd/forced out.

252 SpA Pressure Articuno Supersonic Skystrike (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 564-666 (150.8 - 178%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reserving clefairy

Clefairy @ Eviolite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock / Knock Off / Thunder Wave

Clefairy is a pretty nice counter to Gurdurr. Clefairy reliably 3HKOes Gurdurr with unboosted Moonblast and can use the opportunity to set up Calm Mind and go for a 2HKO. Although Clef doesn't like its Eviolite getting knocked off, Gurdurr can only potentially (roll-based, not guaranteed) 3HKO Clefairy in a best-case scenario of Clefairy switching in into Bulk Up and not using Soft-Boiled at all for the entirety of the match. Toxic variants of Gurdurr are especially helpless against Clefairy as Magic Guard negates Toxic (and any entry hazard) damage and Clefairy effectively walls Gurdurr completely, being able to set up additional CMs and recover HP reliably with Soft-Boiled.

0 SpA Magic Guard Clefairy Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 158-188 (42.2 - 50.2%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO
+1 0 SpA Magic Guard Clefairy Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 236-278 (63.1 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

44+ Atk Guts Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Clefairy: 49-58 (14.2 - 16.8%) -- possible 6HKO
44+ Atk Guts Gurdurr Drain Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Eviolite Clefairy: 85-101 (24.7 - 29.3%) -- 100% chance to 4HKO

Submitting Victreebel as a counter to Gurdurr. Strength Sap allows it to indefinitely survive hits and negate Bulk Up simultaneously. Bloom Doom and Sludge Bomb provide Vic with the means to easily dispose of Gurdurr (Bloom Doom having a chance to OHKO), with Grassium having the additional benefit of being immune to Knock Off.

Mesprit @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Psychic
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Healing Wish

Mesprit might not be the best counter to Gurdurr but it's one of the most splashable ones! At least it lives several unboosted Knock Offs and can pressure it out with Psychic without being worried about missing Hurricanes!

44+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Colbur Berry Mesprit: 59-70 (16.2 - 19.2%) -- possible 6HKO
First Knock Off - the minimum Mesprit can have would be around 81%

44+ Atk Gurdurr Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mesprit: 78-94 (21.4 - 25.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
At 81% it is a guarenteed 4HKO so Mesprit can live 5 Knock Offs without adding Stealth Rock damage

0 SpA Mesprit Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 236-278 (63.1 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
And since Drain Punch does nothing that is pretty much unrecoverable damage!
