Pyukumuku is a staple pick for stall teams as an Unaware wall that stops and threatens to trap setup Pokemon such as Dubwool, Falinks, and Crustle. It also walls prominent boosting threats such as Silvally-Bug and Silvally-Psychic, though both of these can escape Block if they are running U-turn. Soak allows Pyukumuku to beat Poison- and Steel-types such as Pawniard, Mawile, and Mareanie that are vulnerable to Toxic. Alternatively, Spite effectively PP stalls Pokemon that can shrug Toxic off such as Dubwool with Rest and non-Circle Throw Throh. Running Rest even with Recover is also a viable option to beat Pokemon that can badly poison Pyukumuku, such as Mareanie and non-Heal Bell Musharna, as well as to almost always win PP stall one-on-ones.
Stall staples include physical walls like Gourgeist-XL and Hippopotas and special walls like Lapras and Type: Null. Entry hazard control via the likes of Mr. Rime, Vibrava, Vespiquen, and Togetic is also essential against entry hazard-stacking teams, especially those that stack Toxic Spikes. Clerics such as Musharna and Togetic are good options as well. Pyukumuku struggles to beat special attackers that carry super effective STAB moves like Silvally-Electric, Manectric, Raichu, Mr. Rime, and Glaceon, so it's nice to have switch-ins to them like Type: Null, Munchlax, and Klang.
