[OVERVIEW]

Pyukumuku is a decent pick for stall teams, since it can use its incredibly potent ability Unaware to handle a number of threatening setup sweepers that normally present a challenge for the archetype, such as Omastar and Alolan Sandslash. Although Pyukumuku does face tight competition from other bulky Water-types, particularly Quagsire, which also has Unaware, its unique ability to trap and remove threats with a combination of Block, Toxic or Spite, and Rest sets it apart. Pyukumuku can trap and PP or Toxic stall defensive Pokemon such as Altaria and Regirock that other Water-types can only force out at best, and this can be extremely useful for outstalling other teams. However, Pyukumuku still has no offensive presence whatsoever, meaning only stall teams can support such a passive Pokemon. Quagsire is also a better Unaware user, as it can more reliably check threats such as Lycanroc and Aggron, isn't completely shut down by Taunt or Substitute, and fits on more playstyles than just stall. Other bulky Water-types such as Jellicent and Poliwrath are also less passive, fit on multiple playstyles, have unique utility options such as Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, and Circle Throw, and check threats such as Primeape and Carracosta better due to their secondary typings.

Moves
========

Block allows Pyukumuku to trap opposing Pokemon and either PP stall them with Spite and Rest or wear them down with Toxic. Toxic is Pyukumuku's only way to deal damage, but Spite allows it to trap Pokemon that can ignore Toxic damage, including opposing Rest users, Steel- and Poison-types, and Clefairy. While Rest may seem redundant alongside Recover, it allows Pyukumuku to trap and remove Toxic users such as Mudsdale and more effectively preserve PP while stalling other Pokemon.

Set Details
========

Unaware ignores stat changes, which prevents setup sweepers like Gurdurr, Omastar, and Combusken from capitalizing on Pyukumuku's passivity. Ghostium Z or Poisonium Z can be used depending on whether Pyukumuku opts for Spite or Toxic. The former allows Pyukumuku to fully recover any lost HP in a pinch, while the latter increases its Defense by one stage and enables it to more reliably stomach hits from physical threats. Z-Toxic can also be used to poison Taunt users such as Oricorio-E. Both options also make it immune to Trick and Switcheroo, which can be problematic for stall, though this is at the cost of having passive recovery in the form of Leftovers, which lessens the need to use Recover and Rest.

Usage Tips
========

Block can sometimes come as a surprise to opponents and shouldn't be revealed until Pyukumuku is able to trap and KO an opposing Pokemon. Similarly, Z-Toxic has excellent surprise value in being able to status Taunt users that aren't expecting it and should be preserved until the time is right. Refrain from switching Pyukumuku in while entry hazards are up, as they can limit its ability to reliably check setup sweepers like Dodrio and physically offensive threats like Kangaskhan. Recover should be used frequently, as Pokemon such as Kangaskhan only need Pyukumuku slightly weakened to be able to 2HKO it. Pyukumuku can be incredibly exploitable by entry hazard setters such as Froslass and setup sweepers capable of breaking through it such as Alolan Raichu. Be very careful to avoid opponents capitalizing on its nonexistent offenses.

Team Options
========

Pyukumuku can only reliably fit on stall teams in need of a switch-in to setup sweepers, as its sheer passivity would cost any other team too much momentum. Specially defensive Pokemon are great partners to have and complete a solid defensive core alongside Pyukumuku, as they are each capable of handling one another's checks. Audino is a notable example, being a staple on stall and providing useful cleric support to reduce the number of times that Pyukumuku has to use Recover and Rest. Grass- and Electric-types like Victreebel, Oricorio-E, and Alolan Raichu are capable of easily exploiting Pyukumuku, especially if it lacks Toxic. Therefore, checks like Articuno, Regirock, and Claydol are essential to have. Entry hazard removers such as Skuntank and the aforementioned Claydol and Articuno are important teammates to have as well, since Pyukumuku can be chipped by Spikes easily. Pyukumuku should not be a stall team's only physical wall, as strong Choice Band wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Aggron will break through it; a second wall such as Mudsdale or Regirock is vital.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Soak can be used to make Poison- and Steel-types vulnerable to Toxic, which prevents Pyukumuku from being utterly walled by them. However, it's simply not worth the trouble, as every Poison- or Steel-type can either break Pyukumuku regardless or get PP stalled by it. Counter allows Pyukumuku to remove stronger physical attackers like Stoutland and Aggron after taking a hit, which prevents them from exerting pressure on the rest of its team. However, it simply doesn't fit alongside Pyukumuku's main niche of trapping opposing Pokemon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Taunt and Substitute Users**: Because Pyukumuku lacks any attacking moves, Taunt and Substitute users like Froslass, Oricorio-E, and Oricorio-G can render Pyukumuku completely useless and force it out. The latter two examples are especially notable, as they can turn Pyukumuku into setup fodder after using either Taunt or Substitute, while Froslass can set Spikes after forcing it out. However, Z-Toxic can cripple Taunt users unexpectedly.

**Grass- and Electric-types**: Grass- and Electric-types like Victreebel, Bellossom, Oricorio-E, Alolan Raichu, and Rotom-F have no trouble setting up on Pyukumuku or simply KOing it with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Toxic-immune Pokemon**: Pyukumuku has no way to damage Pokemon that are immune to Toxic. This includes Steel-types such as Aggron, Poison-types such as Skuntank, and Magic Guard Clefairy. However, Pyukumuku can PP stall some Toxic-immune Pokemon regardless of its inability to damage them, especially if it opts to run Spite.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: While Pyukumuku's bulk is solid, stronger wallbreakers like Stoutland, Aggron, and Aurorus are capable of overwhelming it, especially in tandem with entry hazards.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Pyukumuku is a decent pick for stall teams, using its ability Unaware, high defenses, and good defensive typing to handle a number of setup sweepers that threaten defensive teams, including Gurdurr, Alolan Sandslash, and Omastar.
  • Although Pyukumuku does face tight competition as an Unaware user from Quagsire and as a bulky Water-type from Jellicent and Poliwrath, its unique access to Block gives it a slight niche over them.
  • Block, in tandem with Spite, Toxic, and Rest, allows Pyukumuku to trap and either PP stall or Toxic stall opposing defensive Pokemon like Regirock and Altaria as well as weaker offensive foes, which takes pressure off of stall teams and gives them an easier time outlasting opposing teams.
  • However, Pyukumuku lacks any attacking moves besides Counter, which leaves it very easily shut down by users of Taunt and Substitute such as Jellicent, Oricorio-E, and Oricorio-G.
  • Pyukumuku is also incredibly passive because of its inability to deal direct damage and. as a direct result, can only reliably fit on stall.
  • What holds Pyukumuku back most is arguably the competition it faces in its roles. Quagsire is a better Unaware user, as it is much less passive, can also act as a bulky setup sweeper with Curse, more reliably handles Pokemon like Lycanroc and Aggron because of its Ground typing, and fits on more playstyles than just stall. (if this is what holds it back the most, why is this not higher?)
  • On the other hand, bulky Water-types like Jellicent and Poliwrath are also less passive, also fit on multiple playstyles, better check threats like Primeape and Carracosta because of their respective typings, and boast solid utility options in Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Scald, and Circle Throw, (i mean, poliwrath doesnt take a +2 z-superpower all that well)

Moves
========
  • Block is a large part of Pyukumuku's niche. The move traps the opposing Pokemon, which allows Pyukumuku to either PP stall them in tandem with Spite and Rest or gradually wear them down with Toxic.
  • Spite more quickly depletes the PP of the opposing Pokemon's moves, making the process of PP stalling foes and removing threats all the more easy.
  • Toxic is Pyukumuku's only means of dealing damage and allows it to dispatch foes it traps more immediately and punish switch-ins like Eelektross.
  • While Rest may seem redundant alongside Recover,(yes.)
i'd personally make toxic first slash

Set Details
========
  • Unaware ignores stat changes, which prevents setup sweepers like Gurdurr, Omastar, and Combusken from capitalizing on Pyukumuku's passivity and subsequently pressuring its team. (it also allows it to wall them)
  • Depending on whether Pyukumuku opts for Spite or Toxic, Ghostium Z or Poisonium Z can be used. The former allows Pyukumuku to fully recover any lost HP, while the latter increases its Defense by one stage and enables it to more reliably stomach hits from physical threats. Z-Toxic can also be used to poison Taunt users such as Oricorio-Pom-Pom. Both options allow Pyukumuku to attack under the influence of Taunt once, decrease Knock Off damage, and make it immune to Trick and Switcheroo, though this is at the cost of having passive recovery that lessens the need to use Recover and Rest. (i honestly think this should be in oo)
Usage Tips
========
  • Don't make the fact that Pyukumuku has Block obvious until it feels necessary to trap a foe, since the move becomes much easier to play around once an opponent knows that it's running the move.
  • Refrain from switching Pyukumuku in while entry hazards are up, as they can limit its ability to reliably check setup sweepers like Dodrio (pyukumuku is a really shaky dod switchin as brave bird + z-bb has a chance to ko after rocks) and physically offensive threats like Kangaskhan. Also use recover frequently as it takes very little chip damage for Pokemon such as Kangaskhan that Pyukumuku would otherwise be able to switch into to 2HKO it. (this last sentence confuses me ngl)
  • If using Z-Toxic, Pyukumuku can bypass Taunt from Pokemon such as Oricorio-Pom-Pom and Froslass. This should also be hidden until the appropriate time, such as when Pyukumuku has already trapped what it wants to Toxic, since it can be completely wasted if the opponent expects it.
  • Avoid Toxic at all costs, and make sure to scout Pokemon which will sometimes run it to lure Pyukumuku, such as Kangaskhan (i mean, why's that an issue? you have rest)
  • Pyukumuku can be incredibly abusable by hazard setters such as Froslass and setup sweepers that can break through Pyukumuku such as Alolan Raichu. Try to avoid the opponent capitalizing on its nonexistent offenses (by doing what exactly?)
Team Options
========
  • Pyukumuku can only reliably fit on stall teams in need of a switch-in to setup sweepers, as its sheer passivity would cost any other type of team too much momentum.
  • Specially defensive Pokemon are great partners to have and complete a solid defensive core alongside Pyukumuku, as they are each capable of handling one another's checks. Audino is a notable example, as well as a staple on stall, providing useful cleric support to reduce the number of times that Pyukumuku has to use Recover and Rest.
  • Grass- and Electric-types like Victreebel, Oricorio-E, and Alolan Raichu are capable of easily exploiting Pyukumuku, especially if it lacks Toxic; therefore, checks like Articuno, Regirock, and Claydol are essential to have. In addition to checking threatening special attackers like Aurorus and Guzzlord (banned) and providing cleric support like Audino, Articuno can also prevent Pyukumuku from unnecessarily taking chip damage from entry hazards with Defog.
  • Entry hazard removers such as Skuntank and Articuno are important teammates to have, since Pyukumuku can be chipped by Spikes easily
  • Pyukumuku shouldn't be a stall team's only physical wall given that stronger physical wallbreakers like Aggron and Stoutland can easily overwhelm it and go on to pressure the remainder of its team, making Pokemon such as Mudsdale and Regirock good teammates.
  • Clerics such as Audino or Altaria can remove Toxic from Pyukumuku (again, why's this an issue? this set has rest after all)
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Soak can be used to make Poison- and Steel-types vulnerable to Toxic, which prevents Pyukumuku from being utterly walled by them.
  • Counter allows Pyukumuku to remove stronger physical attackers like Stoutland and Aggron after taking a hit, which prevents them from exerting pressure on the rest of its team.
  • Both of these options are similar in that finding room for them can be difficult, as Pyukumuku is already strapped for moveslots, and that both of them detract from Pyukumuku's main niche. Furthermore, unless Soak is used alongside Block, Poison- and Steel-types can just switch out before Pyukumuku gets a chance to use Toxic.

  • While Rest may seem redundant alongside Recover, it improves Pyukumuku's ability to PP stall opponents (I'd include a line about removing status which lets it beat certain walls one-on-one while conserving heal bell pp on teammates, especially on teams where audino is the sole cleric)
really great work, I have basically nothing to add. 2/3

Block allows Pyukumuku to trap opposing Pokemon and either PP stall them with Spite and Rest or wear them down with Toxic. Toxic is Pyukumuku's only way to deal damage, but Spite allows it to trap Pokemon which that can ignore Toxic damage, including opposing Rest users, Steel- and Poison-types, and Clefairy. While Rest may seem redundant alongside Recover, it allows Pyukumuku to trap and remove Toxic users such as Mudsdale and more effectively preserve PP while stalling others other Pokemon.

Unaware ignores stat changes, which prevents setup sweepers like Gurdurr, Omastar, and Combusken from capitalizing on Pyukumuku's passivity. Ghostium Z or Poisonium Z can be used depending on whether Pyukumuku opts for Spite or Toxic,(RC) Ghostium Z or Poisonium Z can be used. The former allows Pyukumuku to fully recover any lost HP in a pinch, while the latter increases its Defense by one stage and enables it to more reliably stomach hits from physical threats. Z-Toxic can also be used to poison Taunt users such as Oricorio-Pom-Pom Oricorio-E. Both options also make it immune to Trick and Switcheroo,(AC) which can be problematic for stall, though this is at the cost of having passive recovery in the form of Leftovers,(AC) which that lessens the need to use Recover and Rest.

Usage Tips
========

Block can sometimes come as a surprise to opponents and shouldn't be revealed until Pyukumuku is able to trap and KO an opposing Pokemon. Similarly, Z-Toxic has excellent surprise value in being able to status Taunt users which that aren't expecting it and should be preserved until the time is right. Refrain from switching Pyukumuku in while entry hazards are up, as they can limit its ability to reliably check setup sweepers like Dodrio and physically offensive threats like Kangaskhan. Similarly, Recover should be used frequently,(AC) as Pokemon such as Kangaskhan only need Pyukumuku slightly weakened to be able to 2HKO it. Pyukumuku can be incredibly abusable exploitable by entry hazard setters such as Froslass and setup sweepers capable of breaking through Pyukumuku it such as Alolan Raichu. Be very careful to avoid opponents capitalizing on its nonexistent offenses.

Team Options
========

Audino is a notable example, as well as being a staple on stall, stall and providing useful cleric support to reduce the number of times that Pyukumuku has to use Recover and Rest. Grass- and Electric-types like Victreebel, Oricorio-E, and Alolan Raichu are capable of easily exploiting Pyukumuku, especially if it lacks Toxic. Therefore, checks like Articuno, Regirock, and Claydol are essential to have. Entry hazard removers such as Skuntank and the aforementioned Claydol and Articuno are important teammates to have, have as well,(AC) since Pyukumuku can be chipped by Spikes easily. Pyukumuku should not be a stall team's only physical wall,(AC) as it will be broken through by strong Choice Banded Band wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Aggron. A second wall such as Mudsdale or Regirock is vital.

Soak can be used to make Poison- and Steel-types vulnerable to Toxic, which prevents Pyukumuku from being utterly walled by them. However, it's simply not worth the trouble, as every Poison- or Steel-type can either break Pyukumuku regardless or will get PP stalled. stalled by it. Counter allows Pyukumuku to remove stronger physical attackers like Stoutland and Aggron after taking a hit, which prevents them from exerting pressure on the rest of its team. However, it simply doesn't fit alongside Pyukumuku's main niche of trapping opponents.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass- and Electric-types**: Grass- and Electric-types like Victreebel, Bellossom, Oricorio-E, Alolan Raichu, and Rotom-F have no trouble setting up on Pyukumuku or simply KOing Pyukumuku it with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Toxic-immune Pokemon**: Pyukumuku has no way to damage Pokemon which that are immune to Toxic. This includes Steel-types such as Aggron, Poison-types such as Skuntank, and Magic Guard Clefairy. However, Pyukumuku can PP stall some Toxic-(AH)immune Pokemon immunities regardless of its inability to damage them, especially if it opts to run Spite.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: While Pyukumuku's bulk is solid, stronger wallbreakers like Stoutland, Aggron, and Aurorus are capable of overwhelming it, especially in tandem with entry hazards.

[OVERVIEW]

Pyukumuku is a decent pick for stall teams, since it can use its incredibly potent ability (RC) Unaware (RC) to handle a number of threatening setup sweepers that normally present a challenge for stall the archetype, such as Omastar and Alolan Sandslash. Although Pyukumuku does face tight competition from other bulky Water-types, particularly Quagsire, which also has Unaware, its unique ability to trap and remove threats with a combination of Block, Toxic or Spite, and Rest sets Pyukumuku it apart.
