[OVERVIEW]
Pyukumuku is a decent option on stall teams to ward off common setup sweepers like Ribombee, Scrafty, and Sandaconda. Pyukmuku's considerable defenses combined with Unaware can make it difficult to break through. Compared to its Unaware competition in Quagsire, Pyukumuku's typing has the pros of letting it better take Seed Bomb from Perrserker and take Shadow Ball from offensive Jellicent in a pinch. However, most of the time Quagsire still has the superior typing, and it also has more versatility with its moveslots. Also, Pykukumuku is completely shut down by Taunt, which is found on the tier staple Jellicent.
[SET]
name: Unaware Trapper
move 1: Block
move 2: Spite
move 3: Recover
move 4: Rest / Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Unaware
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
Block allows Pyukumuku to trap and KO foes, stalling them out with Spite or Toxic. Rest is preferred in the last moveslot so Pyukumuku is not easily worn down by Toxic Ferroseed or Gigalith, and it gives an additional form of recovery. Further, since Pyukumuku won't use PP while asleep, Rest can contribute nicely to PP stalling. Alternatively, Toxic can be useful to wear down Pokemon like Jellicent, which cannot be trapped and hates taking it on the switch, and it makes Pyukumuku not dead weight against Pokemon with pivot moves, which get around Block. Pyukumuku only fits on stall teams, and it needs sturdy walls like Audino and Aromatisse to handle Pokemon that get past Pyukumuku despite Unaware, like Galarian Articuno and Gallade. Aromatisse and Audino are also good partners, since they can provide Heal Bell support. This is especially important when not running Rest to remedy opposing Toxic. Consistent entry hazard removal from Pokemon such as Articuno avoids having Pyukumuku overwhelmed before it can stall out attacks too.
