Quagsire is a solid option on stall teams due to its ability to check set-up sweepers such as Mega Garchomp, Mega Scizor, Mega Latias, and Bisharp, due to its access to Unaware. Meanwhile Toxic allows Quagsire to wear down Pokemon such as Kommo-o and Hydreigon after they've set up, as well as punish Pokemon such as Mega Latias, Zapdos, and Volcarona, who don't mind absorbing a burn but are annoyed by Toxic. It also has fantastic defensive utility being a Ground-type, allowing it to check the likes of Dracozolt and Magnezone. Scald lets Quagsire punish physical attackers such as Mega Tyranitar and Melmetal with a burn, greatly reducing their offensive prowess. However, it's lackluster Special Defense does leave it vulnerable to special attackers such as Ash-Greninja, Life Orb Clefable, and Tapu Lele.
Quagsire mainly fits on stall teams, so common stall teammates such as Mega Sableye, Chansey, and Toxapex make for stellar teammates. Chansey and Toxapex are especially good partners as they switch into special attackers such as Tapu Lele, Volcarona, and Ash Greninja, which Quagsire cannot handle. Pairing Quagsire up with Flying-types such as Zapdos, Corviknight, and Skarmory make for a good defensive core, as they are able to handle common Grass-types such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Serperior, which are able to threaten Quagsire. Meanwhile, Quagsire is able to help alleviate the pressure of checking Physical attackers such as Mega Garchomp, Bisharp, and Mega Scizor, while also being able to switch into Electric-types such as Magnezone and Non-Choice Specs variants of Tapu Koko that annoy these Flying-type Pokemon. Shedinja makes for a fantastic partner to Quagsire, as it's able to check the likes of Life Orb Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Manaphy, which all beat Quagsire. Clerics such as Clefable and Chansey that are able to relieve Quagsire of its status conditions are essential in maximizing its longevity.

Other Options
=============
Haze can be used to let Quagsire beat Stored Power variants of Reuniclus and Mega Latias which are able to break through Quagsire due to Stored Power's high damage when fully boosted, as well as hindering Toxic immune set up sweepers such as Clefable, Reuniclus, and Gliscor. However, its other moves are more valuable than Haze, so often it's not able to run it.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Grass-type Pokemon and Grass-type Coverage**: Due to Quagsire's crippling weakness to Grass-type moves, Grass-types such as Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Ferrothorn are able to switch into Quagsire and threaten it out with their STAB moves, but they do fear a Scald Burn or getting Toxiced. Meanwhile, more offensive Grass-types like Serperior, Rillaboom, and Kartana are able to threaten out Quagsire, however, they cannot safely switch in due to not wanting to get Burned or Toxiced. Grass-type Coverage from the likes of Mega Charizard-Y, Bloom Doom Variants of Heatran, and Manaphy also threaten Quagsire immensely.
**Special Attackers**: Due to its lackluster Special Defense, Quagsire is easily overwhelmed by Special Attackers such as Ash-Greninja, Mega Latios, Kyurem, and Gengar.
**Status**: Toxic and Burn both significantly hinder Quagsire's longevity, making it easily overwhelmed by the likes of Heatran, Zeraora, and Gliscor.
**Powerful Wallbreakers**: Powerful Wallbreakers like Mega Mawile, Tapu Lele, Ash-Greninja, and Mega Medicham are easily able to overwhelm Quagsire due to its average bulk.
