Great defensive typing, decent physical bulk, and a good ability in Unaware make Quagsire a staple on stall teams, capable of checking threats such as Escavalier, Darmanitan, and, importantly, dangerous setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Cobalion, Lucario, and Doublade that would otherwise shred the types of teams Quagsire fits on. While it faces competition with Pyukumuku as an Unaware user, Quagsire sets itself apart with its Ground typing and reduced passivity, meaning Pokemon such as Roserade and Heliolisk have to be wary when switching into it. However, Quagsire is significantly weighed down by its mediocre Special Defense, making it easily overwhelmed by Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Choice Specs Sylveon, and Chandelure. Quagsire is also rather passive, leaving it vulnerable to threats such as Celebi, Sylveon, and Swords Dance Pangoro. Toxic threatens Pokemon such as Noivern and Golisopod that would otherwise take advantage of Quagsire for free turns.

Umbreon is an excellent partner for Quagsire, as it can switch into Pokemon such as Necrozma, Heliolisk, and Chandelure that threaten it out while providing useful Wish and Heal Bell support. In return, Quagsire can check Cobalion and Lucario for Umbreon, which would otherwise exploit it for free turns. Galarian Weezing and Noivern can check Fighting-types such as Sirfetch'd for Quagsire, while both also provide Defog support to prevent Quagsire from being worn down by entry hazards. Galarian Weezing in particular is an important partner for its ability to switch into Choice Band Pangoro and Tsareena reliably. Assault Vest Reuniclus can check special attackers such as Toxtricity, Heliolisk, and Roserade that threaten Quagsire out. Steel-types such as Escavalier and Bronzong check Roserade and Celebi for Quagsire while appreciating Quagsire checking Incineroar and Darmanitan for them. Arcanine can check Copperajah for Quagsire and reliably check Choice Specs Sylveon.

While it faces competition with Pyukumuku as an Unaware user, Quagsire is preferred for sets itself apart with its Ground typing and the fact that it's less passive than Pyukumuku. (saying quag is preferred kinda implies that it's just outright better which isn't necessarily true) However, Quagsire is significantly weighed down by its mediocre Special Defense, making it easily overwhelmed by Pokemon such as Choice Specs Gardevoir, Sylveon, and Chandelure. Quagsire is also rather passive, leaving it vulnerable to threats such as Celebi, Roserade rose can't switch into eq so this isn't an issue of quag being passive rly, may want to pick another like weezing or sylveon, and Swords Dance Pangoro. Scald's burn chance deters physical attackers such as Sirfetch'd from switching in without fear. this just feels kinda random, if you wanna keep it then explain that the burn chance is why you'd use it over liquidation (which works off quag's higher atk) Toxic threatens Pokemon such as Noivern and Golisopod that would otherwise take advantage of Quagsire for free turns.

Umbreon is an excellent partner for Quagsire, as it can switch into Pokemon such as Celebi, Reuniclus, and Chandelure not rly a fan of the celebi or reuni mentions since they typically beat umb 1v1, something like heliolisk/rotom-w/noiv/espeon/special necro is better that threaten it out, while providing useful Wish and Heal Bell support. In return, Quagsire can check Cobalion and Lucario for Umbreon, which would otherwise exploit it for free turns. Weezing-Galar Galarian Weezing and Noivern can check Fighting- and Grass-types like? weezing's a pretty crappy check to all of our grasses bar tsareena and noiv is far from the bulkiest of fighting resists, give specific examples of what they can do for Quagsire, while both also provide Defog support to prevent Quagsire from being worn down by hazards. Weezing-Galar Galarian Weezing in particular is an important partner for its ability to switch into Sirfetch'd, Choice Band Pangoro, (it gets owned by sd) and Tsareena reliably. Assault Vest Reuniclus can check special attackers such as Toxtricity, Heliolisk, and Roserade that threaten Quagsire out. Steel-types such as Escavalier and Bronzong check Roserade and Celebi for Quagsire, while appreciating Quagsire checking Incineroar and Darmanitan for them. Arcanine can check Copperajah for Quagsire, while also checking Cobalion and preventing Quagsire from being overwhelmed by it easily. cobalion is never overwhelming quag, if you wanna mention anything then mention that it can somewhat reliably check specs sylveon

These examples are fine but I would add offensive Rotom-W here. It's a Special Attacker that Quag actually has some leeway pivoting into, but because of it's mediocre SpD stat, it is left 2HKO'd by Hydro. Quagsire is also rather passive, leaving it vulnerable to threats such as Celebi, Sylveon, and Swords Dance Pangoro. Toxic threatens Pokemon such as Noivern and Golisopod that would otherwise take advantage of Quagsire for free turns.
