Question on the rules here

Now, I had no idea where to put this. I looked and couldn't find the right place. Everything here is hunkeydorey, but something really annoys me: The mods and their infractions. I am not saying this because I have received two infractions, but I am posting this because I question the reasons behind these infractions.

The infractions I recieved [2] were from two of my posts in Stark Mountain. The first one, I mistakenly said that Aerial Ace is neutral on an Ice/Bug. We were discuss a new create-a-pokemon and that came up. But that isn't really nessecary for me to discuss here. The other one I forgot, but it was something just as small. What I am saying is that, everyone makes mistakes and they are inevitable, whether they are big or small. In high school, persay, if you decide to drop out and not go to colloge and work at Burger King for the rest of your life, now that is something to be infracted on or in real life to be looked donw upon. But, a mistake onsomething that is fake and does not effect real life, though it can effect how your grades are but I'm not getting into that either, shouldn't be infracted. Yes, I know this is a competitive site and anything that is wrong is looked down upon. But if there is a simple mistake, and then the next post states that you are wrong and you say, "Oh, I'm sorry. I was mistaken." that should make up for it. In all honesty, if I make a mistake, I go back and fix it. But for something like a videogame, I believe that you should NOT be penelized for a minor mistake. I mean, let us say that you made a mistake, that more than half of the comunity adopt as the right idea/way. Then a few monthes later, they find out it is wrong and are extremely frustrated that they put all that work into something to find out it was wrong. That is a major mistake and should be penilized for. But everyone here is smart enough to notice those minor errors and correct them before someone keeps that up.

Basically, what I am saying is that; you can't penilize someone for human nature. If it is a major threat/mistake to an entire community, then it deserves a penalty. but since most people here make minor mistakes that are easily proved wrong, there should not be any penalties. Think of it with this analogy. Your about to take a math test. You go in thinking you are right. When you get the test back you get a big fat 0. You are probably wondering why you got it wrong. So you go to extra help and the teacher explains it to you. you understand it and when the next test comes around you get a 100. This would be classified as a small and minor mistake, since it is easily corrected and can be easily lost in what you learnt. Now say you are the head architecht and you are building a large dome that requirers some heavy math and interpretation skills. If you make a mistake there, you will mess up the entire thing and the only way to correct it is to re-start. But since you are the head architect, you really can't turn to anyone to help you. You are the superior and know the most out of the group. If you make a mistake, chances are no one can help you. This would be a major mistake. So, can we please stop infracting on small mistakes that are easily corrected, and start focusing on more pressing matters?

Agai, i had no idea if this was allowed or if it should be posted here. If it isn't please say so. No where in the rules did I read you can't ask this kind of question. I felt I backed it up with enough logic and reasoning for it to be at least read and thought over by a few mods. Do not get me wrong. You guys/girls are doing your job and i commend you for it. I am in no way questioning your authority, I just want to know why this is happening.

If you have questions about the infractions you receive, you should PM the mod that gave you them (in this case, me). The infractions I gave you were for repeated problems. If you do not understand how some mechanic works (in both those cases, you clearly did not) -- you should not be giving somebody advice on using them. That's about as "lurk more" as you can get, and is exactly the reason I gave them.

Just so you know, infractions dont do anything until you get a lot of them. There is no penalty for a 1 point infraction unless you plan on continuing to be infracted.

Asserting something that is entirely untrue is actually quite a big issue on a site that prides itself on being the best place for pokemon information on the internet.

My advice: be more careful about what you post. If you are unsure, stay silent.

Also change your sig.

Have a nice day.
