Hello everyone. I'm not sure if this was the right forum to post here but I've got a few questions that I was hoping you guys could answer.
First let me start by saying I'm a long time lurker(bit over a year now) and ive been reading all the threads and articles that i could over the last week or so about doubles and the upcoming tournament, 2009 Official Nintendo Pokemon Tournament. I've read about all the teams and strategy that go behind them, read most of the RMT and the fixes you guys have suggested and I even went and got PBR so I could start doing some random battles with doubles(near impossable to find any besides PBR that i have noticed). Also its been a blast watching some of the videos on youtube and downloading them to the Plainum VS recorder.
So for the last hour or so I've been coming up with some pokemon I'd like on my team. Picking out move sets, trying to make sure the team has most of its holes covered when i realized that EV points in doubles is much more difficult to do. So I looked up the pokemon on here and saw all the different types of spreads and move sets that smogon has suggested but it seems to me that most if not all of them are for singles battle, is there anywhere on there that has ev spreads or movesets for doubles? Is there even really that much a difference from singles and doubles that I could base my EV spread off the singles spreads that Smogon provides?
Also I noticed the Apprentice Program on here and lurked around that page a bit too. Didn't spot a Doubles Apprentice Program, am I blind or maybe there isn't one(i can understand seeing as how doubles is considered the not fun and not standard way of playing online).
I guess bottom line is is there anyone out there who would be willing to maybe help me through chat, messages, email or just replying to this topic? I have nothing I can offer except maybe a friendly smile or lunch if you attend the SF location for the tournament this coming may.
Also got mIRC and figured i'd lurk around the chat room there for the next couple of days, see what I can pick up from that. Well to anyone who took the time to read this longwinded post, thank you and to anyone who can help me or point me in the right direction a great thank you for you also!
