[Rain or Sand] OU Team

This team was built starting from a nice Pokèmon: Virizion Mixed. The methode of building is the simple Counter System.
Let's see the team together !

I said it before: the team starts from Virizion mixed

Virizion is very weak tho phisical moves, especially to Outrages so I decided to add two Pokèmons: Scizor and Mamoswine.

At that point, the team is very very weak to fire moves...I decided so to make it a Rain Team. Politoed in !

The team hasn't got fast Pokèmon and that was a problem. Yes, Politoed is scarfed but he isn't enough. To eliminate even more the weakness to Fire I decided to put Latios scarfed in the team.

Now the team hasn't got any wall or defensive pokemon. Outrages may be stopped by scizor, but a Close Combat deals too much damage to be ignored. So a fool idea came in my mind: Sand Force Hippowdon. He is a nice defensive pokemon, exactly what I was looking for, so....why dont give him a chance ?

-Movesets

Politoed (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Perish Song

His main job is to stop Breloom by hitting him with Ice Beam, but it also gives me a nice coverage against Dragons.

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Trick

Fast but not that powerful...the Timid nature doesen't give him the chance to boost the Sp.Atk and the absence of the Specs lowers even more it's Sp.Atk that remains equal to 358.

Virizion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 136 Atk / 120 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Work Up
- Giga Drain
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power [Ice]

He may not be the faster pokemon of the MG but still remains a dangerous one. Giga Drain recovers Life Orb's damage. Work Up boosts both Atk and Sp.Atk so it's a required move.

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Quick Attack

Very nice Revengekiller. Quick Attack hits where Bullet Punch is not very effective and Swords Dance gives him a great power.

Mamoswine (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Spear
- Earthquake
- Superpower

Dragon Revengekiller together with Scizor. Nice attack and acceptable speed.

Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Fang

Defensive Pokemon. The surprise of the team. The opponent doesen't know if I am using a sand or a rain team and this pokemon becomes a nice tank on the sand.

Scizor still remains a big threat to my team. He is able to 2HKO Latios and Virizion, simply OHKO Mamoswine with one Bullet Punch. Politoed and Hippowdon can't stop him forever. But Politoed can shoot him with the doubled STAB Hydro Pump.

Sorry for my bad english...

Credits belongs also to my friend -Sai who helped me building the team.

You need to expand on your descriptions. People wont want to rate if you don't put the effort in in the first place. Also this thread could get closed for having not much text.

Hi,

your team seems extremely weak to Breloom: with a Jolly nature, it "outspeeds" everything thanks to priority (and your choice of nature on Mamoswine), and can OHKO everything after Swords Dance and Stealth Rock except Latios, which can be slept or dented quite a bit (~50% on average) with Bullet Seed on the switch if need be. Your Politoed won't be much useful since it's OHKO'd after SR and a Swords Dance with Mach Punch, and its Ice Beam won't even hit Breloom. A solution could be using a Celebi of some sort, replacing Virizion (also, switching to Jolly Mamoswine will help a lot, and I'd suggest that). It can easily take Breloom's attacks with its awesome natural bulk, and OHKO back with Psychic; also, Natural Cure can be useful to play around with switches to avoid Spore. Celebi also helps against another threat your team is not exactly happy to face: Keldeo, which can deal lots of damage, especially if Specs'd; Latios is the only one to resist both its STABs, and having Scarf doesn't allow recovery at all so it will be worn down fast. Celebi doesn't have any problems with that, taking very little from both Hydro Pump and Secret Sword, and OHKOing back with Psychic / Leaf Storm. I'm actually thinking about an offensive / pivot set with U-Turn, so you can complete your U-Turn combo with Scizor (they're both weak to Fire, but it's still a decent combination to pressure your opponent).

Celebi @ Leftovers | Natural Cure
Modest | 176 HP / 152 SpA / 180 Spe
- Leaf Storm
- Psychic
- U-Turn
- Recover / Earth Power

The team seems kinda weak to Genesect right now, however it's hard to play around that; the thing is powerful and its awesome coverage makes hard to stop Scarfed sets, and RP to a lesser extent. You could consider running Specs Magnezone instead of Scizor; Genesect would have to think twice before locking itself into Ice Beam / Bug Buzz / Thunderbolt against Hippo / Toed / Latios since it'll be swiftly trapped and OHKO'd. Also, U-Turn Celebi makes a great partner for Zone, being able to trap all those Steel types that love switching into Celebi, hoping to easily wall it. This will give Latios an easier time spamming Draco Meteor, since without Steels on the field, even an unboosted 140 Dragon STAB will hurt a lot. Celebi also can take a good amount of attacks aimed at Zone, like Fighting and Ground, while Zone can tank Bug, and Flying attacks to an extent.

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Modest | 148 HP / 252 SpA / 108 Spe
- Thunder / Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon

Hope I helped somewhat. Good luck for your team.

Thanks to everyone...
ENTER RAYZORS: next time I will try to expand my RMT but can you tell me what info are missing there ?

Ganjalf: Thanks, really. With your fixes the team seems to be working.

A dude: I think it's right the same because Celebi's U-Turn only keeps the volturn chain active.
