Welcome, one and all, to the sixth annual Random Battles Circuit! RBC is a tournament circuit organized by the Random Battles room on Pokémon Showdown! that gives players the opportunity to prove their individual skill in a variety of relevant and competitive Random Battles formats. This year’s circuit will be a little different this year, with two highlight changes: the circuit will take place on the Other Circuits subforum, and, drumroll please: the winner of RBC VI will receive a ribbon!

Over the coming year, players will compete in 11 tournaments, ten Opens and one Swiss. After earning points and standing on the RBC VI leaderboard, the top 32 players will qualify for the Random Battles Circuit Playoffs, with the eventual first-place prize of a custom avatar and a yellow ribbon!
Points accrual for playoffs qualification will function similarly to last year’s Circuit; namely, every tournament will count towards a player’s standing on the leaderboard. Given the slightly different makeup of the circuit overall, the points system has been adjusted.
The points system works as follows:
- For single-elimination tournaments, you gain 1 point for your first 3 wins, 2 points for your next 3, and so on..
- For Swiss, you gain 1 point for each win beyond the 2nd, then 2 points for any additional wins beyond the 6th.
- For the Top Cut of Swiss, you gain 2 points for your first win, 3 for your 2nd and 3rd, and 4 for your 4th and 5th wins.
For those you who prefer to see numbers, a winner’s point totals after each round are:
Single Elim: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 19
Swiss: 0, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10
Swiss Top Cut: 2, 5, 8, 12, 16

While the circuit as a whole will be coordinated by the RBC VI hosts, each individual tournament will be hosted by different members of the Random Battles community. RBC VI hosts will have final say over all administrative decisions regarding the tour, with input from each tournament’s respective hosts. All tournaments will follow the basic guidelines for tournaments on Smogon, but may differ slightly due to their varying structures, so remember to read each OP carefully when signing up!

The Prizes
- The winner of each tournament will get the Room Prize Winner rank for one month and be recorded in the Random Battles Hall of Fame
- The overall RBC VI winner will get a Smogon ribbon; their choice of either a custom avatar, a color change, or a disabled name on PS; and Room Prize Winner rank for one year
