I was late to my game because I cut myself by accident and had to clean up the blood and convince my friend that I am not suicidal. The cut was not a mistake, however, but a ritual. The spirits of Lavender Town blessed me. They watched me pray, mourn and sacrifice blood for my deceased loved ones. They joined my side as I led them to victory. Now, onto the part of my winpost you've all been waiting for. I decided to shuffle my "party" playlist this time, so we're getting something a little different to my last two posts. This is the She Likes To Remix by Wiley featuring an All-Star UK Grime cast including J2K, Wrigley, Ice-Kid, Wretch 32, Ghetts, Bashy, Scorcher, Chipmunk and Griminal (in order from first to last - Wiley comes after Ghetts and before Bashy).
I first heard this song when I was 11 on Channel U (or was it Channel AKA by that time? I can't remember), and it quickly became my favourite song at the time. I remember walking to school (before I could afford a phone that could play music that wasn't recorded by voice recorder) listening to this play in my head while mouthing all the lyrics. My favourite verses are Bashy's (who coincidentally lived in the neighbourhood I grew up in) (2:13), Chipmunk's (2:57) and Griminal's (3:20). This song makes me feel smooth and reminds me of a simpler, carefree time - much like RBY does. The video is fun and colourful, with all your favourite Grime MCs enjoying themselves with beautiful women, and the song is energetic and upbeat yet remains cool and smooth. Really gives you good house party vibes. Nothing negative about it. Pure positivity. Enjoy yourselves x
