First of all, I'd like to say hi! I'm new to these forums and I'm sure my competetive battling will improve as a result :)
This team is a bit of a random team, it's not themed around anything, no weather etc, but I designed to to have a little synergy.
How I built the Team
1) It starts with whimsicott, one of my favourite pokemon. I've used it in every competetive battle this generation and it has served me very well.
2) I added a special and physical sweeper: latios and terrakion. Latios is commonly used, and rightly so. Rock Polish terrakion is something that I stumbled across and I've used it many times and, like whimsicott, it has served me well.
3) I don't like entry hazards. So, I added a rapid spin user. I also wanted this rapid spin user to be able to sweep as well, so, with those two criteria in mind I chose Starmie.
4) I then decided I needed a wall. Ferrothorn was an obvious and he too has served me well this generation.
5) Finally, I wanted a counter to grass types. Although uncommon, they ruin my team as I have only two super effective moves against them and they're not STAB. Furthermore ferrothorn and whimsicott are unable to harm them with leech seed. I decided to include a fire pokemon, or more specifically a flash fire pokemon, to increase synergy. I chose heatran.

Good sweeper. White herb allows a twice use of powerful STAB Draco Meteor. Psychic is another STAB. The other two moves are coverage and specifically, HP Fire allows me to deal with ferrothorn, scizor etc

Evs: 252 Att, 252 Speed, 4 HP

The air balloon forces many pokemon to use a weak/non-deal attack in order to pop the balloon before he can be KO'd. This allows him to set up with rock polish, then sweep away.

I love this set. Leech seed, protect and leftovers give great stalling ability and allow him to set up with curse. After that, he can One hit KO most pokemon with gyro ball

Absorbs fire hits then deals out a quick revenge kill. Flamethrower+Flash Cannon are STAB, other two are coverage. i'm still not sure about the choce scarf though. It does provide a much needed speed boost but if you think about it, most of the time, I will switch in on a fire attack from a fire pokemon. I won't then, obviously, use flamethrower on this pokemon. But after that I'll be locked on whatever I use (probably earth power) so I'll have to switch out before I can use fire moves, and that will get rid of the boost...
So, there's my team.
