Rate my double battle team for the US tourney

Read the second team if you want to rate.
Before you do, please note the following:
-This is for the pokemon vgc tourney
-The rules are at pokemonvgc.com
- There is an Item clause
- You can use the Uber known as Garchomp
- Do not pay attention to the old comments because they were about my retard team
-I can't use moves that are learned after lvl 50

Um, no gaurd doesn't work like that...

How do starmie and abomasnow work as a team?

Why does machamp have endure and protect?

Why does electrode have substitute if he has not attacks except for explosion?

Why does dugtrio have giga impact?

This team needs work

Oh man, this team is honestly a mess, but I only have time for a quick rate right now. From briefly skimming this, I have to say Voltorb is useless--Electrode outclasses it, and Azelf outclasses Electrode at what you're trying to do. Choice Specs is also useless on that pokemon--I mean, what's the point?

Machamp needs work. I know you're working under Item Clause but you can do better than Quick Claw. Also, Protect and Endure work on the same counter, so Endure will only has a 50% chance to work after you use Protect and vice-versa, so yeah. Also, No Guard doesn't work like that.

Dugtrio is...wow. I'm surprised they're not enforcing some sort of OHKO clause, but yeah No Guard doesn't work like that it and it really does nothing with the rest of your team. Giga Impact is also useless, as you won't be OHKOing much and the recharge will lead you to get ruined. I'd rather use a Garchomp if they allow it (haven't looked at the link sorry) or a Salamence or something, I dunno.

Just so you know, Taunt is actually really common in doubles, so don't expect your Skarmory to do much. In fact, they'll probably just double team it and kill it or something. I really don'y have time to explain it right now, but Skarmory does not work very well in doubles, especially the way you're using it.

Abomosnow does nothing for this team--if you're going to use him, why not just run a Hail team? And why that set? Look at some sets in the analysis or something.

Starmie...yeah, I don't know. You're probably gonna have to overhaul the whole team. I'd love to help more, but your descriptions are sparse and don't help much and you don't seem to have a good grasp of the metagame (and I'm also tired as hell). Try reading this: http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/double_battles

thank you for the advice and i also read the rules and I can only use 4 pokemon per battle so I'll have to rethink this team

voltorb needs work, maybe u can switch it to a special sweeper, considering the EV'S,and machamp aility doesn't work like that, BUT
u can teach machamp mimic within emerald tutor i think? so the idea is machamp mimics dugtrios fissure, and with no guard its 1 hit-K0 all d time, but if your going to do mimic remove quick claw, its just dufus.....

also give starmie focus band since hail hits it actvating focus band

any way the team needs work.

Revised Team

After looking at a thread for a few hours, trying to grasp the double battle metagame, i made my first set. This utilizes the fact that garchomp is sweet and NOT banned in the tourney.

Garchomp@Life Orb
Jolly
252 Attack/252 Speed/ 6 HP
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Dragon Claw
-Stone Edge

Hippowdon@Leftovers
Impish
252 HP/168 Defense/ 88 Sp. Defense
-Yawn
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Fire Fang

This set takes advantage of Garchomps sand veil(Raises evasion 20% in sandstorm), whilst Hippowdon Yawns. After one pokemon falls asleep, we gang up on the other one and presumably kill at least 2 pokemon. Hippowdon is built like a wall so that he can survive as long as possible and so that he can survive explosion. Garchomps best form of protection is defense. Garchomp will mainly use outrage as his weapon of choice.

Rhyperior@Wide Lens
Adamant
252 HP/252 Attack/ 6 Defense
-Fire Punch
-Thunder Punch
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

Rhyperior=Epic. He can wall pretty much all physical attackers and his ability will prevent him from getting hurt. This guys basic idea is to kill any counters sent out, and live for a long time.

Swampert@Shell Bell(I betcha someone won't like this, but hey, theres an item clause)
Impish
252 HP/252 Defense/6 Attack
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
-Waterfall
-Brick Break

Swampert is going to be pretty hard to kill, espiecially with his great typing that only a grass could try to beat. I added in Brick Break because with the theme of my team, I can tell that the ice types will come flocking.

For the Overview, i think this team is pretty good and I would love to see the electivire/zapdoes combo used against it so i can laugh.
It is entirely built around sandstorm, which, although not used much, will be useful because of the element of surprise.

This Team is for the Pokemon VGC!

With the smeargle, the scope lens doesn't help at all. Scope lens "raises the holder's critical hit rate one stage." Maybe use focus sash? So he survives if your dark void misses. Giga impact is weaker than outrage. So if you were using a move to kill the last pokemon outrage STAB has more power and more accuracy.

Yeh, you're looking for Wide Lens if you want Dark Void to have greater accuracy.

I'm pretty sure Outrage targets a random enemy in Double Battles, so I wouldn't really like to risk the 50/50 chance of hitting the enemy you want to, even if the damage output will still be massive. Protect is another reason why this could go against you rather often. I'd suggest Protect over Outrage so you can avoid things without having to rely on Sand Veil.

Hippowdon should probably run Protect or Slack Off, or at least a Lum or Chesto Berry to have a chance against sleep leads.

Smeargle is just tempting fate, but if you want to take that risk it's up to you. Flemt, he can't use a Focus Sash since Sandstorm will most likely be active.

I personally wouldn't use a Choice Item in this environment, so try something else on Flygon (Lum Berry, Yache Berry, Life Orb if you take it or Garchomp or something) and don't bother using Giga Impact. Go for Stone Edge or Dragon Claw (or even breed a mixed one and use Draco Meteor).

Pray you don't come up against Mamoswine, it can do some serious damage to you. If you want to rectify this, a Jolly Lucario, or some kind of bulky Water-type would be a good addition.

now I actually have some responces/questions:
For Hippowdon, what should i switch in for protect?
For flygon: He's gone

I can see why giga impact is retarded(Its already gone)

I also wonder if I should switch dragon claw for protect as I think its a pretty good strategy to keep a couple protects on ur team.

I added in swampert because I don't expect to be seeing any grass and he covers most of my weaknesses(Besides my need for fire moves).

Unless if anyone disreccomends it, I'm probably going to research rhyperior and replace smeargle

In case no one noticed I have now completely replaced the last two members of my team, giving me much more stability.
