rate my first UU team!

as the title says, this is my first UU team. I tried to make a team lead by my favorite pokemon - Ambipom. It works perfectly sometimes but i find myself to have my entire team wiped out or barely alive. so i would really apreciate it if anyone could help me improve my team. thank you in advance for all the help :)

now to begin...

Ambipom @ Silk Scarf
Nature: Jolly
Ability: technician
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 attack/ 252 speed
Moves:
Fake out
Ice Punch
taunt
U-turn

Ambipom's main purpose is to weaken the lead if not kill it. fake out pwns against anything that doesnt resist it. it can even do 40% damage on blissey and could OHKO a few pokemon in the UU meta. if ambipom can't do anything against the opponent, U-turn comes very handy. Ice punch is there since im really scared of salamence which some people include in their team for some reason...

Dugtrio @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: arena trap
EVs: 4 Hp/ 252 attack/ 252 speed
Moves:
Earthquake
stone edge
night slash
stealh rock

earthquake gets STAB so that's why its there. stone edge is to hit those that dont die from earthquake. night slash is there since i cant think of anything to fill it with. stealth rock is there if i know im not gonna survive.

Weezing @ Choice Band
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4HP/ 252 atk/252 spe
Moves:
Explosion
Haze
Assurance
sludge bomb

Weezing's main pupose is to explode on the opponent giving me a free kill at the cost of one pokemon. it can OHKO anything has low defence. and even if they have high defence, they are sure to take at least 75% of damage. this guy helps my ambipom kill anything that ambipom couldnt. it usually rids my opponent of a useful pokemon when all that can resist weezing is dead.

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 speed/ 4 defence
Moves:
Toxic
Wish
Protect
Pursuit

My stall. main goal is to poison the opponent, use wish if neccesary after then use protect twice then either use pursuit or wish then switch. pursuit is there since the opponent switches out so often when they get poisoned and the pokemon wont really be able to kill umbreon. i often use umbreon last when my opponent only has a few pokemon left or i really dont have a choice.

Blastoise @ leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: torrent
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 defence/ 4 sp atk
Moves:
Rapid spin
surf
ice beam
toxic

My one and only rapid spinner. its also my physical wall which it does fairly well although i find it sometimes useless to even bring him out.. ice beam takes care of those nasty flying types that likes to kill ambipom. toxic is when its his last pokemon and its being completely anoying by staying alive too long. i usually switch him to any fire or water types for obvious reasons.

Froslass @ Focus Sash
Nature: Timid
Ability: snow cloak
EVs: 4 def/ 252 sp.atk/ 252 speed
moves:
destiny bond
spikes
taunt
Ice beam

Last but definitely not the least - Froslass. Froslass has focus sash so that it is guaranteed to lay down at least 1 layer of spikes on the foe. if froslass's item is useless due to being unable to rapid spin first with blastoise, i use destiny bond. if the foe uses a status move, taunt helps to make him kill froslass of course when i use destiny bond since froslass can outspeed most UU meta pokemon. froslass serves almost the same purpose as weezing but destiny bond can almost guarantee that whatever pokemon kills it will die aswell.

and that concludes my First UU team. I find it fun to use but i do wish it could be improved to better do at competitive pokemon battles. i feel that at least one of the pokemon needs to be replaced before it can actually be competitive.. again, any help is appreciated so i hope you guys could help :) thank you!

Well first off, concerning

Ice punch is there since im really scared of salamence which some people include in their team for some reason...

Should never happen if you're actually using the UU ladder on Smogon University, go to the find tab, and click on Standard, change it to UU. Load your UU team, find match, you should only be playing UU matches.

Onto the team, however. Your team has a ton of supporting pokemon, such as a spinner, Spike support, Wish passing, a Dugtrio, but has nothing particularly threatening that can abuse these things properly. Ambipom is probably your best bet, but he is only limited to Fake Out, U-turn, and Ice Punch, none of which are particularly threatening to the defensive side of UU. For a team with these kinds of assets, I would suggest running Swellow over Weezing, something that really excels at breaking down major threats and works very well with Dugtrio, who can weaken down the things Swellow can't seem to beat, namely Registeel or Rhyperior. With Spikes support, Swellow sweeps are much easier.

I would recommend running Swellow over Weezing, the pokemon whose role isn't as concrete as the others, apart from blowing up whatever Ambipom can't beat, which isn't that relevant if you can pull sweeps off with another pokemon anyways. Apart from that, I would now like to move onto your EV spreads, those which could really use a little of tweaking.

I would simply suggest changing Umbreon's moveset to 252 hp / 252 sdef/ 6 Spe. There isn't much that you really need to outspeed, also the sets in the analysis are really outdated -- mentions of OU pokemon and Cress outspeeding is irrelevant in this case, and taking hits from pokemon like Moltres and Sub Beam Rotom are pretty key. In addition, run a Careful nature.

For the Swellow set, run

Swellow @ Toxic Orb
Jolly 252 atk / 252 spe / 6 spd
Facade / U-turn / Brave Bird / Quick Attack

Make sure you activate Toxic Orb on a Ground / Ghost type move, or something that swellow can already beat while something is weakened. Quick Attack is there so you don't die out to a pokemon such as Hitmontop , Toxicroak or Dugtrio who would try to stop your sweeps with priority.

Good luck with the team, and with UU as well!

hmm i tried the swellow idea and its working pretty well! although.. any team that has rotom is killing me ... maybe im just not using it properly though... uhm, also, my umbreon is actually surviving longer now thanks for the suggestion!

i'll be editing the team again later to fix the changes

If rotom is killing you even with Umbreon around, perhaps you should try changing your set to Curse / Payback / Healbell / Moonlight, or at least some kind of Cleric variant of Umbreon. Synchronize ensures you burn things like Rotom, and you simply Heal bell your problems off. Umbreon is your pokemon to go to when confronted with Rotom, or something of the sort.

Curse Umbreon is ridiculously hard to kill unless you have something like a hazer or a fighter that can boost their attack pretty fast, you need some real power in order to kill that thing with a curse up. It's not a bad alternative to your Toxistall Umbreon, though admittedly it does lose the wishpassing value it gives to your team.

Glad my changes are helping! :)
