Gen 7 Rate My Gen 7 OU Team

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Normally my lead. I wanted to be able to deal with stuff like chomp and Lando-T so I decided to bait them out with Air Balloon and HP Ice. This has worked pretty well overall. I chose flamethrower over the usual magma storm for some extra damage as I don't really need to trap anything in with magma storm. Heatran is also my go-to for killing fairies if Hawlucha hasn't been set up yet.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Defog

Lando-T is my defogger. I put U-turn on him so I can just defog and leave while doing some damage. Lando-T can form a U-turn Volt switch bait with Tapu Koko, baiting out ground moves on Koko. I invested more in attack than defense because while Lando-T is my defogger he also helps deal with threats like Volcorona and Mega Charazird Y although the accuracy of Stone Edge is sometimes a problem.

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rain Dance
- Tail Glow
- Scald
- Signal Beam

I really wanted to try out Tail Glow Manaphy. I put Rain Dance on there to boost scalds and later give Tapu Koko's thunder perfect accuracy. I kinda feel like manaphy doesnt fit the team as well as the others so if there are any suggestions for it or replacements I would be happy to hear them out. Other than that I have signal beam for coverage and scald over surf to get some burns.

Tapu Koko @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Dazzling Gleam

Tapu Koko really helps Hawlucha with Electric Terrain. I put a shuca berry on him for any surprise ground moves. Thunder because in Manaphy's Rain Dance + Electric Terrain it's ridiculously good. Dazzling gleam for a stab move, thunderbolt in case rain dance isnt up, and volt switch helps confuse the opponent along with U-turn on Lando-T.

Hawlucha @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Drain Punch
- Swords Dance
- Poison Jab

Hawlucha is very OP and quite underrated. Unburden boosts his speed to about 670 and one swords dance makes his attack around 620. Poison Jab is really good for surprising fairy types, 110 power acrobatics can kill almost any attacker, drain punch heals me up if I took damage swords dancing. I preferred drain punch over high jump kick because even at 90 accuracy it can fail and take half my hp which could be catastrophic for sweeping potential. One problem I have with Hawlucha is him getting toxiced on the swords dance turn if anyone knows a good counter for this I would appreciate it.

Greninja @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Dark Pulse
- Grass Knot

Greninja is a really versatile pokemon and can fit on almost any team. Heatran normally dies near the start so Greninja is my answer for late game dragons. Grass Knot surprises water ground types like Mega Swampert. Scald over surf, again for the burn. Dark Pulse just for psychic types who I often switch in Greninja for because he's immune on the switch in. I decided not to go for battle bond so that I can get STAB boost on all my moves. Expert Belt because Greninja is all coverage and the boost is nice.

First, Heatran should have stealth rock set. Rocks are important at wearing down the opposition. Also since it's gen 7, no heavy duty boots, so they are forced to pull out defogger sooner or later. You can use this opportunity to set up I guess.

Second, why is your EV spread so offensive? Isn't Landorous acting as your defogger here? Plus, Landorous isn't much of a defogger. It can act as a pivot and weaken up the opposition, but defog isn't a very good option. Skarmory or Tapu Fini could do better at this role. They have more defensive utility so yeah.

Next, on Manaphy, I'm not sure about this, as I don't use Manaphy much, you should just put Tail Glow + 3 attacks. This gives it more coverage. Scald is fine if you want the burn. Not really sure but I guess u can try using rain dance because I never tried it before.

Tapu Koko should run life orb. it does massive damage. If you take off rain dance on Manaphy, run HP ice if you want to counter ground types still. Shuca Berry is fine but I like HP ice over Shuca Berry because most ground types can't withstand it I think.

Hawlucha should run High Jump Kick or Close Combat just in case you don't get SD off or something. Your choice but i guess drain punch for longetivity.

Greninja should carry Hydro Pump for more damage. You could add battle bond for even more damage but hey, its your choice.

I am new to smogon, so these tips or something might not be the best but I hope some help!

Hi, welcome to Smogon! I am locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least three lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and look at Team Showcase to see the detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions, and I will be happy to unlock this.

I would prefer not to switch out Lando-T because I need an electric immunity and I have Tapu Fini and Skarmory's types on my team. As for the Stealth Rocks I prefer not to use them on my teams that are mostly all offensive since it causes them to take damage on first turn instead of attacking or setting up or something

Navzyx-kun

Banned deucer.
heatran:
lava plume > flamethrower, since it has a higher chance to burn

manaphy:
ice beam > signal beam, offensive bug is rather useless, ice beam outclasses it in every way
psychic > rain dance, you skip a turn just for rain

or if you want rain:
switch out your least effective member with Pelipper

Without rain Tapu Koko's thunder is pretty unreliable any suggestions on what I should replace thunder with?
