Rate my Mono Tour Team

I use this for the mono tournament.
Just in case you don't know, in mono, you use only one type every battle.
My type is dark.

I'm new at this. Please don't skin me.

I'm a newbie when it comes to team rating, but I've been building and battling teams for a fair bit of time so I decided to try to learn from experience.

I suppose I went to the wrong convention last week, then... crap. Interestingly, though, I did manage to still become a Poke A Man master...)

I really have no idea why you put Psychic and Nasty Plot on this guy. Night Slash and Drill Peck are both Physical moves, so in essence you're only boosting one attack with this guy.

I advise you visit the Honchkrow page on Smogon. I'm not quite sure if you're leading with this guy or not. I presume you are, because you're putting him first.

I would also recommend you say why the Pokemon is on your team. Based on the below description, I can tell he's a sweeper, but what kind of sweeper did you intend him to be? Physical or Special?

Ah, Weavile, my old friend. We meet again. I only wish we would have met under more... favorable circumstances.

Ice Punch and Ice Shard are the same type. They should not be on the same Pokemon. I recommend Ice Punch for the extra power - but if you're experiencing some problems getting the attack in before getting blasted, you should use Ice Shard instead.

I prefer to lead with Weavile, but to each his own. Since you're not leading with him, I recommend Swords Dancing late game and then sweeping. Switch in on something that doesn't like Weavile, take the hit with Focus Sash, and either Swords Dance - if you think your opponent is going to switch - or strike with a move.

5 sweepers without the resistance's to work with. Spikes and Focusblast on a Cacturne? No natures or even attemt's to describe their role or why they are there? No items or anything

Thats all I need to see, your team sucks, lucky for you the tourney will be filled with garbage like this

(I do have to note that you should read the Required Reading at the top of the forum, and visit the Smogon.com site. A through description of the roles of your players is important to a team rater, and it's helpful in building a team. Makes our lives easier. However, as it appears that you are new, I suppose some level of ignorance is excusable.)

I only went over two now, 'cause where I am it's May 29th, 12:28 and tomorrow's (30th) my birthday, and I feel like being a bit lazy. I'll go back and pick over it later. ^^

However, I just realized something. Do you have EV spreads for these guys?
 
Wait.. so because he stated a true statement he must automatically go to hell? Would you prefer everyone to tell you that your team is peachy and that there is nothing wrong with it?

The truth is that you are not using the dark type to its full potential. Drapion would make a handy physical wall, while you could use a rest/sleep talk/calm mind/dark pulse Spiritomb to try to handle hits from the special side.

If you are going to run Nasty Plot, I would recommend the Substitute/Nasty Plot/Dark Pulse/Hidden Power Fighting set. If you are running the physical set, standard Choice Band or Choice Scarf will do you fine.

Erm.. great example? Pretty standard.

Cacturne does not fare well with support moves like Spikes due to its low defences and HP. The Focus Sash@Counter/Seed Bomb/Sucker Punch/Swords Dance set works incredibly well, but you lack Sandstorm which renders its ability useless, unless of course you are up against a Sandstorm team.

As I said further up, I feel that something to take special hits would be ideal. Rest/Sleep Talk/Calm Mind/Dark Pulse allows it to sweep and take special hits.

Nah. I bet he would have preferred Speedwobbles to at least show a little bit of decency in his response, though. He was pretty harsh on Vendetta. There's no need for that sort of attitude, even if Vendetta messed up. I critiqued some of his things, but I didn't insult the effort he put into it.
 
a team of sweepers often has trouble taking hits, even more so when they all share similar weaknesses. I think that it would really be wise to give your drapion a bulkier set to take hits for the other teammates better. Also, go with spiritomb because gengar isnt even dark type.
and i seriously think that you should look into working ttar into your team to replace the lobster. It would help out cacturne and also give your team some added bulkyness.
 
don't forget umbreon, that thing has good defensive capability's, i personally would never go 6 sweep, especially in mono where you cant counteract the low defence with high speed (or a BP boost). Ttar is handy to go with cacturnes sand veil if you are that way inclined, but any OU available in mono is a must. Houndoom might be a decent option also,
 
2 SD and 1 NP? Its your team... 5 Sweepers and 1 Counter Sweeper.. i think Special LO Luke+Forry can own you...
