So this is going to be my first Competitive team team. And I'm interested in anyone's suggestions and comments. The build is slightly aggressive with a slow and annoying start to the other players.
First up. The lead!
Ninjask w/ Liechi Berry
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 88 SpD / 80 Spe
Jolly Nature
Ability: Speed Boost
Move List:
Substitute
Protect
Sword Dance
Baton Pass
So for my my lead and the build around me Pokemon is Ninjask. When I first made this build I had X-Scissor on over Protect, and I must say I don't think I'll go back. I was expecting him to pass into just Physical Sweepers but with Substitute and Protect he can easily dodge up to 3 or 4 Speed boosts into a special sweeper. If anything in my team is set in stone this is it. I will change almost everyone else but Ninjask. He has turned into such a versatile Pokemon that turns anything into a Sweeper.
Sweeps are in order. Next up is the Pysical Sweepers!
Machamp w/ Expert Belt
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe
Adamant Nature
Ability: No Guard
Move List:
DynamicPunch
Stone Edge
Payback
Substitute
Machamp is a great target to Pass into, as his coverage is incredible. To increase the coverage I am debating about switching Substitute into Fire Punch. Though I do have to be careful what I pass into as I might be walking into losing Machamp to an Aerial Ace or Psychic which more often then note will OHKO him. Even walking into a good sweeper is dangerous.
I did say SweeperS. Next up the Physical Defense Sweeper
Metagross w/ Iron Ball
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
Ability: Clear Body
Move List:
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Explosion
Trick
So another amazing choice for Baton Pass. This is for when the lead is more offensive. Metagross bulk will absorb the hit (Hopefully) and then start beating face. This isn't always my go to guy but it is decent enough to wreck a huge hole into an enemy team. With few counters and the few that can counter can be neutralized with Trick + Iron Ball. And if all else fails Explosion solves everything except ghosts.
Now onto the last target for Baton Pass!
Snorlax w/ Leftovers
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
Ability: Thick Fat
Move List:
Curse
Crunch
Body Slam
Selfdestruct
And on the other half of Metagross is Snorlax. If the lead is a going to be throwing special attacks around then Snorlax is my man. If I run into Fire or Ice types, I can throw Snorlax into that also. My biggest problem will be after I beat one pokemon the replacement, if bulky enough, will stop Snorlax. With it's lack of coverage it becomes difficult to reliably sweep. Most likely the weakest of my Sweeping targets.
Ninjask is versatile. Here's a Special Sweeper!
Chandelure w/ Life Orb
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Ability: Flame Body
Move List:
Flamethrower
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Pain Split
So this is actually the last Pokemon I will Baton Pass to. Once I bounce Pass 6 Spe boosts to Chandelure he becomes a beating. Pain Split is Anti-Blissy tech. His coverage is decent but could use some work. But since they both get STAB they are amazing. Calm Mind does feel out of place here though. While being a Pass target Chandelure is also a decent Revenge Killer. This is a replacement to the original Gengar that was here. As Chandelure sacrifices Spe and Atk for Def, SpA, and SpD while getting more coverage it was almost a must. The Levitate might be missed but I am not sure yet.
And lastly another... Sweeper?
Breloom w/ Toxic Orb
12 HP / 252 Atk / 244 Spe
Adamant Nature
Ability: Poison Heal
Move List:
Focus Punch
Stone Edge
Spore
Substitute
For my final spot I picked out Breloom. Though much too fragile to Pass to, he provides great offense and difficult to maneuver around once he gets going and if the last few aren't prepared to deal with Breloom. Hiding behind
So there's my team. Rate, comment, anything that will help. I will greatly appreciate it. The only thing I am set in stone about is Ninjask. I might be difficult with switching out Chandelure but it seems decent in that spot.
