Hello, after being redirected to the right forum, i'll post my team here. Even though i was told my team "is not up to standards for what we expect of an RMT", i feel like it's good enough, even though there is no clear "theme" to it. i've gotten a decent rating with it IMO, and most losses are up to my own mistakes rather than my team being bad.
Anyways, i'd like some help fine-tuning my team, and maybe getting one pokemon replaced, because i feel like it's not doing what i want it to.
Here's my team:
Machamp @ Leftovers
Trait: No Guard
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- DynamicPunch
- Stone Edge
- ThunderPunch
Machamp mainly cleans up late game when his counters are gone, and i sometimes switch him in when i see a clear opportunity to set up a substitute, because he can usually take down at least one 'mon when subbed.
I have no intention of switching him out, but it is a possibility if another pokemon seems to perform better in his place.
Brawnzong (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
Bronzong is currently my go-to wall, and doubles up as a decent check for frail set up sweepers like swords dance Weavile. He also provides SR support and toxic. I'd like to know if i'm running the optimal moves for him or if there's something important missing.
Candylure (Chandelure) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
Candy is a slightly situational pokemon; when i get her in without too much damage she can sweep entire teams, but sometimes she just dies and i can't seem to help it. is it possible to run a more bulky Chandelure or should i maybe pick another ghost, like Cofagrigus?
Blastoise @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef/ 4 SpA
Calm Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Toxic
- Roar
Blastoise is the pokemon that has been performing the worst out of my team. Except for the occasional spinning (my team is not very hazard-weak, so i only spin when there are a lot hazards or when my chandelure needs to come in with more than 75% health). For the rest he's not as bulky as i'd like him to be, generally getting hit quite hard even by neutral hits, and nt hitting hard back. The only times he really makes a difference is when i predict correctly and get a key toxic in, or when he burns a physical attacker.
If possible, i'd like to switch him out for another bulky water type, or maybe another spinner if it is deemed necessary for my team.
Roserade @ Black Sludge
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Spikes
- Rest
Roserade is extremely useful, she's often a better special wall than Blastoise, hits hard, has great recovery with rest, Natural Cure, and Giga Drain, and her Spikes are very useful if i get a chance to set them up.
Awesomepom (Ambipom) @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- U-turn
- Low Kick
Ambipom is definitely my favorite team member, firstly because he is a complete badass, and secondly because he saved my ass countless times.
His fake out hits quite hard, and coupled with return often nets 2HKO's on frailer pokemon. He can also stop damaged stup sweepers in their tracks, and is usually my best bet against MoxieCross if it's low on health.
He can also sweep/ clean up late game, when faster pokemon or walls are already gone.
I currently have most trouble with bulky setup sweepers or things like ScarfMoxieCross that are bulky enough to take a fake out and outspeed my Ambipom and Chandelure.
Any help is welcome!
