Why in any circumstances would Energy ball be better than Calm mind? :S If not Calm mind, then Hidden Power Fire. Energy ball should not be used on Alakazam

In OU, as you most likely know there is rampant Priority. What will most likely happen is that you switch into a move, hang on with your Sash then either scare the opponent away, or KO the opponent with your huge Speed and Special attack. If they switch out, bulky things like SDef Rotom-Wash, or Tyranitar are common things that will come in to take a hit. The only thing that hits both for SE damage is Energy Ball, and is the only thing that could hit Rotom-Wash for SE damage if Venusaur is taken out. Also, what notable threats does HP fire take out? Grass-Types not names Mega Venasaur are entirely walled by Mega Venasaur, and Bug and Ice-Types are easily taken out by Heatran.

Erm. Tyranitar you can simply Focus Blast and for Rotom-W

252 SpA Alakazam Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom-W: 127-151 (41.7 - 49.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Alakazam Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Rotom-W: 140-166 (46 - 54.6%) -- 5.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
After using Calm mind.
+1 252 SpA Alakazam Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom-W: 190-225 (62.5 - 74%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Its not much of a difference and by the way Hidden Power Fire is so you don't get walled by Steel types coming in. I guess you can predict it and bring in something else but when you switch that steel type, Scizor for example could just U-turn and you've lost with switch initiative again.
Energy Ball is not needed on Alakazam.

Ok... Now I'm thinking of a new team almost completely... I definitely want to find a way keep garchomp, alakazam, maybe wash rotem, tyranitar, and 2 other pkmn what do you guys suggest??

Sorry, it is kind of hard to understand what you are typing. So Garchomp, Alakazam, Rotom-W, Tyranitar is what you want. I would suggest as the over two Mega-Venu and Mandibuzz just because of the fact you was worrying about hazards before and Mega-Venu gives support to Rotom-W while Tyranitar covers Mega-Venu.

So alakazam, mega-venu, rotom-w, garchomp, tyranitar, and instead of mandibuzz should I get gengar? I don't really care THAT much about the hazards lol but would that be a good team?

Both of these work well. Mandibuzz with Overcoat is able to avoid sandstorm damage, as well as Garchomp, and Alakazam. MegaSaur works because he has good synergy with the rest of your team.

Here is a set

Mandibuzz Leftovers
Overcoat
Impish
252 HP/252 Def/4 Atk
-Knock Off
-Whirlwind/Toxic/Roost/Foul Play/Swagger/Protect
-Whirlwind/Toxic/Roost/Foul Play/Swagger/Protect
-Whirlwind/Toxic/Roost/Foul Play/Swagger/Protect

Any questions in particular?

If your okay with Gengar taking some damage from the weather, I don't see why not. It would be nice to have more SpA on your team as well to balance it out.

Oh sorry. For the Garchomp, replace the Choice Scarf with a Life Orb. As for the Rotom-W it is a trick set so when you believe someone is trying to sweep and set up on you just Trick them the Choice Scarf and that completely cripples the sweeper forcing them to switch out.

Do you play pokemon x/y??

Feel free to ask me this on my page as this thread was meant for helping you with your team. I will be glad to look into trades. I think our time is pretty much done here!

Tyranitar and Mega Venusaur isn't that good of an idea considering Tyranitar's Sand Stream limits venusaurs Synthesis recovery.

Synthesis isn't meant to be the biggest form of recovery, as Giga Drain is the Main Stab, and there is a presence of Leech Seed.

He does bring up a notable point though, switching out Synthesis for another attacking move, or just making careful note of the weather may be a good idea.

Fair point. I would suggest Toxic instead then. Going to have to deal with minimal recovery on Mega-Venu.
