Rate my Tourny Team..

Recently PabloMeza hosted a Tourny for the wifi Trading group and I decided to go with a Theme I had never used before, Anti helped me with it a bit and itworked pretty good, the final version went about 20-3 overall (in the tourny and out), but unfortinetly, I moved out with the lady friend, and was unable to participate after the 4th round..

Item Clause was in effect.

The Strategy
The basic strategy to this team, as in all Trick Room teams, is to setup Trick Room, use the element of surprise and sweep with one of the 3 Sweepers. Moves like UTurn and Wish help with this immensly. Swellow serves nicely as a Non-TR 'Clean-Upper' as I dont want to be completely dependant on it.. Machamp and Swellow both benefit from Toxic/Flame Orbs, which also makes any status effects not a problem.

Mespirit and Jirachi both are all around Bulky, to make setting up a fairly simple process.

I am a bit lacking in super sturdy walls, but I have some nice immunities and resistances and so far its all worked out nicely, sometimes I over-predict and get fucked but, eh..it happens.

Trick Room Team

Mespirit
Relaxed - Levitate
Leftovers
252|xx|152|104|xx|xx
~Trick Room
~Thunderbolt
~Ice Beam
~U-Turn

My lead, OHKOs Gyarados and Garchomp, amongst other things. More then Bulky enough to setup Trick Room, though Gengar gives me problems. Swellow is a nice switch into Shadow Ball though.

Jirachi
Calm - Serene Grace
Lum Berry
252|xx|xx|xx|252|xx
~Trick Room
~Uturn
~Wish
~Thunderbolt

Also nice and Bulky, Wishpassing helps immensly. Seeing as Jirachi is Heatran Bait, when I setup Trick Room on Heatrans switch-in, Camerupt comes in on Fire Blast nice and easily, that probally happened in 50% of the battles I did(ish). Lum Berry seemed like a good idea, despite the 2 Status absorbers I have, I dont want both my TR'rs to potentially get statused if i screw up something.

Machamp
Brave - Guts
Toxic Orb
252|252|6|xx|xx|xx
~Close Combat
~Fire Punch
~Thunderpunch
~Ice Punch

With Guts Activated, its basically unstoppable. not too mention it can switch in on Mespirits Dark weakness. I dont really think theres much I need to say, its another extremely powerful, pretty Bulky sweeper. The fact it can switch in on status, then is typically bulky enough to take a hit or 2, its quite a force.

Camerupt
Quiet - Magma Armor
Life Orb
122|135|xx|252|xx|xx
~Flamethrower
~EarthPower
~Explosion
~Hidden Power Ice

I really wanted Solid Rock, but HP Breeding is such a pain. It has a bit of a low Attack IV, so I gave it enough Attack to OHKO Blissey, +Def Swampert (the Relaxed set) and BulkyDos (even after Intimidate) with Explosion. Earthpower is always a great move, I chose Flamethrower because Eruption doesnt mesh with Life Orb and I dont have time to waste around with Fire Blasts accuracy. After the Attack EVs I just maxed SpAtt and threw the rest into HP seeing little need for the EVs elsewhere.

Exeggutor
Quiet - Clorophyll
Expert Belt
96|162|xx|252|xx|xx
~Leaf Storm
~Hidden Power Ice
~Explosion
~Psychic

I wanted a 3rd Sweeper for Trick Room, Explosion OHKOs Blissey, so that hopefully I dont have to waste Camerupt, who has much more sweeping potential. Leaf Storm+Explosion is my usual way of dealing with Cresselia, as I dont really have any other solid way to do so..Unorthodox I guess but it works well. Psychic just for Heracross and Infernape, as it really doesnt have anything else to do..I might replace it with Fake Tears, HP Fighting Glaceon at some point but for now its working.

Swellow
Jolly - Guts
Burn Orb
6|252|xx|xx|xx|252
~Brave Bird
~Uturn
~Facade
~Pursuit

I chose it over other possible Non-Trick Room Pokemon mostly for the fact it has good Attack, Moves, Immunities and Status absorbtion.

I'll add a threat list later if I can get some time.

I'd honestly be worried about being completely walled by Cresselia. This means that Machamp should probably run Payback, preferably over Fire Punch so it doesn't get completely walled. It's a simple enough fix - and CC honestly hits harder than Super Effective Fire Punch so there's really no reason to use it. I'd also consider running Stone Edge or Rock Slide over Thunder Punch, for the same reason. Ice Punch is ONLY for Gliscor and Dragons, pretty much.

Ive never seen what Rock Slide/Stone Edge has over Thunder Punch, except it loses the ability to 2HKO BulkyDos after intimidate. Payback over Fire Punch is certainly interesting idea though.

My Method of dealing with Cressy has worked everytime so far, unconventional as it is but i'll give it a try, Thanks

Anyone else?

I honestly don't think Exeggutor is a good enough powerhouse to warrant use under Trick Room, there are better options out there IMO, and if you are still keen on using it, I'm sure it would fit a better role by setting up Trick Room itself.

You should consider a different Special Attacking powerhouse, such as Glaceon maybe?

Glaceon and Clamperl are both options Ive considered however I dont have either yet, which left Eggsy as the next best option. The problem with Glaceon over it is that I lose the chance ability to Explode on Blissey and still have Camerupt.
